Do max perks work like drugstore.points? I just buy the stuff and get a coupon for $ off my next purchase? Want to make.sure…..I quit doing staples.because.they send you a check in the mail and I cannot waste time cashing $2 checks constantly. Also can I do all these in one transaction and get cumulative cash back coupon, or does it all have to be separate trans? Thanks.
They send you a giftcard type coupon in the mail 4 times a year with all the “awards” from a set 4 month period. So you don’t have to cash a check, but you do have to wait months for your reward.
Actually… they send you a gift card every month. 4 months is for the teacher program. If you are part of the regular program then you get a check every month (provided you rolled your rewards that month) around the 15-20th of the month.
Yes, Rach, it’s way better than Staples. The money goes into your online account each month (on the 20th) following your purchase. It’s so easy to use. You do need to print our your points to redeem in store, but if you forget they will let you print them there.

Too much trouble with this type of reward. You can’t get it fast enough. When it comes you have to use it during a certain time whether you need something or not.
I have been shopping Office Max with their Max Perks system for over a year and LOVE it! I have never had any issues and have been able to donate a TON to the local school. You have 3 months before your Max Perks expire and you can roll them to buy more Max Perks items and continue the process. Best deals I have ever seen. I continue to get free items shipped to me almost very week:)
So the perk rewards can roll from one promotion to the next?
Yes. I have never had any issues. I always order over $50.00 (with remaining Max Perks-that I continue to roll) so I don’t pay shipping and shop through either Shop at Home or Ebates.
I also plan to donate quite a bit of what I’ve purchased. I like to stock up for the year, but there’s only so many highlighters one family needs! It’s exciting to be able to donate good, quality school supplies, too. 🙂
We do the same thing, but we first put items into our Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. I have three kids and each one makes a box, so we put a box of crayons, highlighters, a notebook, etc. in each box before donating the rest to our local school. We homeschool and would never go through all the free supplies we get!

As a homeschooling mom, I’m enrolled in OfficeMax Perks for teachers. I’ve been taking advantage of the “free after perks” deals for the last few weeks. Yes, I’m paying out of pocket for things, and more than I would be paying if I were purchasing the same items at WalMart, but I’ve already planned what I’d like to use my perks on and when. Hopefully, a game plan will help ensure that I don’t forget or let them lapse. Plus, I check my account online frequently to ensure I’m receiving all the credit I’m due and so far, things have been spot on.
It can be a difficult program to follow, but with benefits like these, I’m willing to read the fine print and follow the rules closely.
I just started using Max Perks after reading about it here. I was a little hesitant, but it is easy. It is also fun to go shopping with my “free” perks. I only wish I would have tried it sooner! I got $55 worth of stuff today and I can’t wait to see what I will get in the future.

I have quit doing office max because it is a gift card and from what I have read you cannot roll the rewards. Is that still the case? I mean I cannot use the gift cart I receive from a rewards purchse to purchase more reward items and then receive additional gift cards.
You can roll rewards and still get more rewards back. I have been rolling the same rewards for two years now.

Yes you can! the only downside is that the rewards are distributed at the end of the following month, so you may have to wait a while before you can roll the rewards.

I love Office Max. I have been rolling my rewards for about over a year now! I just purchased $152 worth of stuff for only $66 and I will get over $100 back + got ink =] Can’t beat that, and I will now be able to use the coupons I get on the mail online for extra savings!!! You have to go to officemaxperks.com and sign up for the maxperks program. I just did mine a few minutes ago.
Do people really like this rewards system better then staples? I am worried since staples i am literally getting my money back and here it seems like you are always out that first amount you paid for items, so if you buy the online stuff 50$ worth to get free shipping you are always going to be out that 50$.. correct? I’ve only ever shopped at staples so i am very unfamiliar with office max or office depot reward system.

Does the max perks redeem immediately? I sent my order hours ago and it still says no rewards…
It takes days usually to see your rewards in your account. If I went shopping today in Office Max the receipt wouldn’t show in my rewards account until probably Thursday or Friday!
Im a little confused on how the “MaxPerks Bonus Rewards” work. For the regular program on normal purchases, you have to spend 500 to receive 25 in Max Perk Rewards. So, for the “100 % Bonus Rewards” does this purchase just go towards my 500 I am trying to accumulate or do I immediatly get the entire amount I spent back as MaxPerks Bonus Reward Money back?
It depends on what you buy – if you buy a ream of paper that’s $6.49 and it’s advertised as getting back $6.48 in rewards, you’ll get $6.48 put towards your rewards account once the receipt goes into your account. I never pay any attention to the spend 500 mess!

Yipee!! I Love Office Max!! I just placed an order for all of the MaxPerk reward items that Colin had listed. Since I used my prior max perks rewards to pay for all this, and went through Shopathome getting 7% cash back, I should get all this stuff ($131.62 total with tax) and make $7.20 profit! Believe me, Office Max is GREAT!!!

How can I roll my rewards if i can only use one reward per order? i have one that is $26 and one that is $20… they say i can’t use it online and to go to a store or call their number… this is a bummer! was hoping to use both to lower my OOP…

I already got my box of MaxPerks items I ordered! And I’m assuming they packaged it wrong because I got 2 things of the Clorox wipes AND 4 reams of paper, versus the 2. All my items were a bit “beat up” but for the price I can’t complain! However, I checked my MaxPerks and they don’t have my items on there and this is my first time using MaxPerks..how long does it take to show up on your account?
