Walgreens Deals 9/30-10/6
Well, as most of you know, 9/16, was the start of the new Walgreens Balance Rewards Program! Please head here to read all about it.
If you are a newbie to Walgreens shopping, make sure to check out my Walgreens Store guide. And if the coupon jargon below starts to confuse you, take some time to read through the Coupon Newbie section.
Also, as most of you know, Walgreens released a corporate coupon policy. You can view the policy here. Be sure to print a copy and bring it with you when you shop in case any issues should arise. You can also now print Walgreens Instant Value Coupons online here.*NOTE: If you can find the monthly coupon booklet in-store, save your printer ink.
Want to create your own custom printable shopping list?!
Simply click on the printer icon to the right of the post title and then follow the instructions to easily remove portions of the weekly deals that do not interest you. Then print and take with you to the store!
* For a limited time, if you are 50 years or older, you can head here to download a voucher for Free Health AND 1 Year Free AARP membership (or extension!). (Thanks, The Frugal Pinoy!)
**My favorite deals are highlighted in red! 🙂

Yea they are up! Thank you Collin!!
You’re welcome!
heads up. just left my local walgreens and the manager told that in the coming months they will be discontinuing the register reward program
Mine told me today that the manufacturers are starting to embed stuff into the coupons so that if you use a coupon on an item, a RR will not print out. They view it as coupon fraud. (Like you are using 2 coupons on one item). Wonder if this is true?
I went to my local walgreens yesterday to buy scott paper towels (as yesterday was the last day for RR to print for scott & cottenelle) and enfagrow milk b1g1 free. And the cashier said you cant use the printable coupons anymore, I was like what, she called her manager he checked my printable coupons and said walgreens have stopped taking printable coupons. I said no I checked the policy, he said the policy is changed ….. I was very upset and then I asked for rain check so I can buy later. He denied and said buy without coupons now or leave. I called the corporate after checking Walgreens coupon policy, I was right nothing has changed. Anyway I lost those deals.
That is ridiculous!!! I would have blown a gasket! lol!
I had that happen to me about a year ago at Walgreens…they even had signs taped up everywhere stating no internet printed coupons…manager on duty told me it was the new policy, stating her boss had just been to a big conference in Vegas…I asked her if we could call customer service and see what they said…she was reluctant but she called LOL they corrected her and told her to take my coupons. She got off the phone told me that she would take them that time but her boss would get it straight with them. Next time I went in all the taped notices had been removed and they have taken all my coupons with no complaints. My suggestion make them call and tell you over the phone that there has been a policy change.
Thanx Rita I will make them call customer service, but I am worried they might give me more hard time later.
From my experience they may not look the friendliest when you walk in to shop next time but the headaches over coupons will stop. I have been couponing for about three years now and I have found that when they start with negatives I kindly come back with their policy or ask them to call a manager–nine times out of ten I usually end up getting it worked out. The thing is if you have a store where you shop on a regular basis it’s best to get it straight so that you can shop. I know someone who works at Walgreens and she told me that they do not like you calling customer service because they get in trouble, but if they aren’t complying with Walgreens policies it needs to get worked out. Bottom line is that Walgreens wants your business…the employees may be ignorant about how coupons work and not realize Walgreens is still making money but Corp gets it and they want you to be a happy shopper. I look at coupons like cash–as a consumer I decide where I spend my funds. I read somewhere that in 2011 there was over four billion dollars saved with coupons…the stores who redeemed those coupons made four billion they wouldn’t have made without those coupons being out there. Coupons.com received 200 million dollars in investments last summer…because coupons are big business. Ignorance is the problem. A lot of cashiers and even management are ignorant about how coupons work and their own company policy. I’ve even had a store manager ask me to bring in a copy of their coupon policy to him the next time I come in to shop. Once they get it they will be happy to see you walk through the door to spend your funds. You’re welcome Roma, I hope this helps and while shopping remember you are helping to keep billions of dollars in our economy moving, educate cashiers along the way (even the nice ones :o)…shop with confidence and temper it with boldness when required!
Thanx Rita I was really scared to go back to that walgreens, but not now. Thanx for giving me all this information. I started doing coupons since last few months. I had no idea that coupons do this much to stores, some times these employees act like we are stealing or trying to do something wrong. I never want to put any employee or their jobs in trouble. Thanx alot for ur help.
You’re welcome Roma. I understand exactly how you feel because I felt the same way when I first started. Now when I’m out shopping and I see the customer ahead of me is being given a hard time over a coupon or price match and isn’t able to handle it—I will even speak up for them. Then when that cashier gets to me they usually have nothing to say about my transaction. The more these issues are dealt with the more peaceful all your shopping trips will be. I agree with you that you don’t want anyone getting into trouble with their job but if they aren’t following their company’s policy they will continue to have unhappy customers. This is why educating them is so important–even the nice cashiers that also may not realize how valuable the coupon customers are to the company they work for. Coupons increase sales because when you save on things you need it enables you to spend on things you normally wouldn’t purchase. Coupons reduce stores having to clearance products and they help to move the product before it expires. Coupons are a tool that companies and stores use to sell their products…just like advertising :o)
Another good tip is to find a couponing buddy. When you are starting out going with a friend who is interested in coupons too will help you feel more confident and it’s helpful.
Also at Walgreens I checkout in cosmetics so if there is a coupon issue there isn’t a long line behind me. The cosmetics cashiers make a commission off certain purchases so they are usually more pleasant.
Don’t give up coupons are well worth your time and effort–remember you are a valuable consumer and stores out there do want your business :o)
We all knew you’d pull through your bad day:?) Thanks for all you do for us!
I feel a lot better… now to go satisfy my sweet tooth! 😀
There is a $1/1 Cepacal at https://www.cepacol.com/special_offers.php. The page indicates not valid on 4 ct, but the coupon is not printing with any limitations – making this a $1 money maker. I’m still a little hesitant to use this because of what the page says. Thoughts?
I printed it anyways and cuz it says off any but I have a feeling it won’t scan..
Thank you!
Thanks a bunch!!
Use the $1 coupon without any issues! However, the RR for this is not printing in WI. It must be a known problem as the manager was bringing out one of those printed forms you send to Catalina as I was leaving. They just gave me $1 instead and let me keep the product since I was the first customer there and the problem was unknown at the time.
I used the coupon and didn’t receive the register reward in MI and the manager refused to do anything about it because I already got the product for free. He acted like I wanted him to open his wallet and give me money.
Same here! It did not print the RR for me (WI) when I used the $1 off coupon. However the manager was really nice and he printed the RR for me manually.
I had the same issue with it not printing a RR and the manger told me it must be the new system they are using and wouldn’t do anything so I then asked a cashier that has worked for Walgreens for 15 years and she said it’s a glitch in the system that they will have to fix and just adjusted the coupon down to .90 cents and the RR printed. I love my cashiers at my Walgreens! Manager acted like it was just how it’s going to be from now on but from the way the cashier talked it should still print the RR so I would call corporate on Monday and talk to them so they are aware of the problem thats what I plan on doing. I am also going to brag on the awesome cashiers we have.lol I don’t like the new systems at all they are a pain to deal with.
And when I printed this coupon at the beginning of last week it did not have the wording not valid on 4 count I think they added latter.
I printed off one, but after reading the comments, I am scared to use them for fear the RR won’t print.
Coupon now says not valid on packs of 4. Is that new – do you think they changed the coupon??
The reason the RR won’t print is b/c the code on the coupon is the same as the RR you are receiving and the register thinks you’re redeeming a RR. Very confusing, but sometimes that happens.
That’s new as it didn’t print with any limits – they must have changed it 🙁
Thank you! Go relax now!
🙂
Thanks Collin! You’re the best 🙂
Awe… thanks!
Great job Collin!
Thanks!
On the Cottonelle deal, there have been some $1.00 off peelies around. That would definitely sweeten the deal:?)
as a heads up i did the cover girl deal today for the lipsticks and none of the 5.00 off 2 coupons would work it would say no items sold or found in transaction even though i bought lip products and they were not outlast my co worker had to push them threw at the end so ymmv hopefully your cashier will push it threw for u like we are supposed to
Thanks Collin!
You are welcome! 🙂
is the cottonelle bottom price $2 for a 12 pack or $3 for a 12 pack – it states both – in the black area it says 2 and in red area 3
They end up being $3 per 12 large rolls when you buy 2 packages.
Can someone tell me how to redeem the new balance rewards? I have 7000 points so I know I’m due a $5, but I don’t know how to get it.
it will prompt the cashier to ask you if you would like to use them once you hit 5000 points.
Has anyone else had an issue with it NOT prompting the cashier? I have 13,000 points and it has yet to give me a choice to use them. I asked my Walgreens today and they didn’t know anything about why it is not letting me use my points. They were earned 2-3 weeks ago, so not today. Any suggestions?
Even if it does not prompt, once the cashier hits the payment button there will be a option to redeem points, ask the cashier to select that and then you would have option to select how much you want to redeem (in $5 increments, depending on how many points you have).
I have had this problem with the same cashier twice now. There is a button they have to push that says redeem rewards on there screen. It doesn’t auto prompt it’s like a payment key, I guess.
The cashiers have rarely asked me if I wanted to pay for my transatction with points. I also told the cashier that I wanted to use my points for a transaction on Sat and she had to call the manager over. Momdkk is correct and the cashier has to hit a option button. Also make sure you only use the points in 5,000 ($5.00) 10,000 (10,00) 18,000 ($20,00) 30,000 ($35.00) or 40,000 ($50.00) increments or you will lose points. My transaction was $25.98 and it gave my options to use the next level at 30,000 points for $25.98 so it essence I would loose $14.02 by using the 30,000 points at that point. Hope that helps.
Thanks for everything you do!!! By the way, if you have a Gather Together booklet there is a .50 off dawn q as well!
Collin as always, you are a ROCKSTAR!!
Thanks, Shanna! 🙂
i always wondered on the BOGO free, how can you use a coupon for a free item?
Because it’s a store promotion.
You can still use two manufacturers coupons because it’s a store promotion. The manufacturer considers it as buying 2 items so one coupon on each. Colin has a video about it if you need more info.
For the Pantene you get 1,500 per bottle. Makes the deal even better!
Oh awesome! I thought it was on 2 – I am gonna update now! 🙂
So is it like $0.50 each if we factor in the bonus points
Thank you, Collin ! You are amazing.
You’re most welcome! 🙂
FYI… The Disney wall clings are 50% off at my Walgreens. Final cost is $4.99. Comes with 33 very good size stickers.
Just so everyone knows…those fiber one brownies are TO DIE FOR and only 90 calories…stock up!!! 🙂
Haha I know, I love them!
They are GOOD! I heat them up for 10 sec+ in the microwave- Ummm Ummm! 😉
Collin, I hope your day is better now! Poor thing, you finished the Walgreens deals anyways (and pretty early too). Thank you!
You’re welcome… and my day has gotten a lot better. Cuddling with the kiddos on the couch and watching movies… it doesn’t get much better than that! 🙂
Remember to scan your cards guys !!!! I went today and totally forgot !
Perez,
I think you can go online and enter your receipt information to credit your account. Thanks for the reminder!
As a side note your cashier is suppose to ask if you are a member every time you check out to remind u to scan your card or enter your number or to sign you up because corrprate is tracking stores numbers to make sure we are scanning members cards plus that is how u will get your sale prices from now on
I am not seeing the softsoap coupon. Was it regional?
very appreciative of your hard work thanks again
Thanks Collin! I appreciate all the hard work you do! You help my family and many other families save money everyday! It was your blog that a friend told me about and ever since then I have been couponing! Without your blog I wold have not even started couponing! Me and many other people appreciate everything you do to help us save! Thanks a TON!
Collin you are amazing! Thank you so much for saving us all so much money & time!
I don’t see the Command hooks/adhesive marked in red as a good price. Could I get these for a better deal? I don’t need them now but will closer to the holidays.
3M Command Hooks and Adhesive Strips 2/$5
Use the $1/1 Command product coupon found here
Final cost $1.50 each!
It’s a fairly good price, but it is only the small packs (2-3 hooks). I’ve gotten them cheaper, maybe $1 for small packs or $3 for big value packs, but those deals only come around once or twice a year. I think last time I got a deal like that I had to go to a craft store, on a one day sale, with a manufacturer’s coupon and store coupon or something crazy like that. 🙂
Cottonelle toilet paper also has a peelie for $1 off, so even better 😉
I bought the diapers before to get the rewards, and I looked at the “balance” and don’t have them, I have to sift through and see if I can find my receipt but on All my other ones since It shows 0 balance. I just found my receipt and tried to request missing points but got that the service as unavailable. They scanned the card, why did the points not show up?
One of 3 reasons amie one the system is offline which means they would show up in your account anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days it would say offline on your recepit 2 you bought the wrong item or it is an old tag if it an old tag a mgr can add the points for you and 3 the registers were just being wonky happens a lot lol if that the case take your receipt to the store and mgr can add them only a mgr can though hth
Robitussin 20 ct or 4 oz $4.99
Use the $3/1 coupon found in the 9/30 RP
Or use the $2/1 coupon found here
Final cost as low as $1.99!
On top of this deal, you can also get 4000 Points WYB 3 or 2000 Points WYB 2
The RR for the Cottonelle wipes didn’t print for me in WI 🙁 Still a good deal a $2 a piece though and I had some RR’s to use up anyway. I’m guessing the same may go for the Kleenex deal then? Did it work for anyone else?
I did it this morning and it worked. I did three of the wipes, and then three of the toilet paper. Worked both times.
The RR did print for me when I bought 2 wipes.
Cottenelle worked for me for 2 pkg of Wipes in Texas today.
I also wanted to add that shopping on saturday gives you the best bang for your buck as you will get that weeks ad prices plus the next weeks at same time so for instance cover girl was b1g1/5 off same this week so yeterday I got them bogo free also it will do this for points as well so say the week your in u get 500 points for covergirl and the next week u get 1000 you would get 1500 points for each cover girl hth as it has saved me tons and got me extra points it is not illegal and you will not get yelled at we activate next weeks ad on saturday because we hang are tags that day because most stores are not 24 hours
You should be a little more specific if you are going to post this like this. I also work at Walgreens and not all stores activate the next week’s sales at the same time, and even then not all of the ad will be active and the RRs do not print until Sunday. And the sale prices do not always combine like you stated they do, at my store the computer automatically gives the customer the better sale of the two that are active. You don’t want to mislead people by giving vague “tips”.
Next weeks ad starts on Saturday at noon now via corporate so they can overlap although it’s supposed to give you the better of the deal. I also bought CG on Satu and it came up BOGO free with 500 pts 🙂
My SS did not have the Hefty trash bags coupon! Grrr.
Ran into issues with the Cepocol deal today. If we use the coupon, the RR did not print. Had to call in the manager and she printed them for me manually, but she ripped my receipt apart (due to all my coups ) 🙁
Same thing happened to me.
My store couldn’t take 2 Irish Spring coupons. She said usually the “free” item isn’t actually 0 in their system but a penny or two (deducted from the full price item) but since it rang up 0, the system wouldn’t take a coupon on a free item.
I’m getting an error page for the Grape Nuts coupon 🙁
Same here.
is anyone else having trouble with the link to the grape nuts coupon? i’ve been waiting so long for grape nuts to be on sale, and now that they are, i can’t get a coupon. sad day.
Kleenex RR did not work for me in Texas.
In the walgreens ad, in the olay section, my ad states that there is a buy 50 get 20 rebate on olay.com. I can’t find it. Does anyone know anything about this rebate?
I have a coupon for $1/2 Axe products with a Albertsons logo. Will Walgreens accept this coupon. I couldn’t find anything specific in their coupon policy.
The Campbells soup $1/5 off points to the wrong link. I went to the website to the coupons but they would not print.
I just fixed the link, so it should be working now.
Thanks!
Just a quick question….the ad states the soup is limit 3. How can I use the $1/5 coupon? Will the extra 2 soups be able to ring up at the ad price of $0.59?
Christy,
In my experience you extra 2 soups will still ring up at the sale price. It will depend on your store/cashier if they allow you to purchase more than the coupon limit. I usually don’t have an issue if I’m only buying a few more.
At my Walgreens, the Act II popcorn was marked “buy 1 get 1 free.” When I used the in-ad coupon for 4/$1, I expected to pay $2 for 8. But instead it rang up as $1, because it was like I bought 4 for $1 and got 4 free. Unexpectedly better deal 🙂
Also, the Irish Spring soap 3-packs were $5.29!! Maybe they were mislabeled, because that seems so high for 3 bars of soap. Even with BOGO and two $0.50 coupons it’s too high for me.
Not seeing the nabisco coupons
I can’t find it either.
Does anyone know if the balance rewards card tracks purchases like the CVS card? Like can you buy items throughout the week? Or does it have to be in one transaction?
It has to be in one transaction. I ran into this problem today. I did the P&G BOGO 50% off and one of the items I bought was lower than advertised, which made me miss my $20 mark by a dime! :'( I called and the manager told me it has to be altogether and they offered to fix it for me (they’re so kind!) But its too much time and gas for me to go back up there–I will end up spending more than the 3000 point I’ll get back so I’ll just have to take this as a lesson. 🙁 good luck!
bummer! Yeah I had no idea the Aveeno products were on sale! I was expecting to pay like $7 for each and they were ringing up $3! They didnt have anymore on the shelf but I decided to take my chances on the card tracking your purchases. Oh well It was still a fabulous price 🙂 Now I know 😀
I brought 4 packages of Cottonelle Fresh Care Wipes 42 ct 2/$4 in one transaction and got mine 1,000 points and got a $3 RR back. Also for the Scott paper towels if you don’t have the coupon from the Sunday paper you can sign up online on their Scott band web site and print out a .75 cent off coupon like I did. =]
I tried to do the Kleenex deal and the Cottonelle. The cottonelle printed the RR, but the Kleenex did not print anything. She said it was because I used a coupon for them. I had not been to Walgreens in about 6 months because I always have problems like this. Anyone else have the Kleenex deal work for them?
kleenex did not print for me either:( but i still needed to stock up for the season:)
@lindsey- I came across this problem when I used a Kleenex RR to pay for a cottonelle transaction. My cottonelle RR didn’t print b/c Kleenex makes cottonelle (i noticed the Kleenex logo above cottonelle tissue after this happened). It’s like trying to roll it on itself so RR won’t print if it’s the same value. Hope this makes sense.
I paid with a Kleenex RR so maybe that’s why my Cottonelle didn’t print. Odd though, last week I reversed it: I used a Cottonelle to pay for Kleenex and the Kleenex RR printed just fine.
When I have a problem at Walgreens, I call Gregory Wasson’s office ( CEO & President of Walgreens) 847-914-2500 x2758. I do not have a problem anymore at Walgreens. I live in Ft. Worth, TX & the customer service is excellent. No problem with internet coupons. I used internet coupons today. Suggest if you have a problem to call his office. The problem will be resolved!
which one do you go to? it seems to vary depending on which store i go to
Hello, I need some help. I went to walgreens today an got two of the robitussion and got 2000 points if I go back and purchase one more will I get the extra 2000 points since u get 4000 points when u buy 3? Or do u have to purchase all 3 in one transaction?
All in one transaction 🙁
has to be on same transaction 🙁
If you like the Simple Facial Wipes, they are 33% off this week, makes them $4.34, use the -$2 coupon in the 9/30 RP and earn 1500 reward points, so ends up being .85 each. I think that is a great deal. I bought 2 and got 3000 points.
DeAnn,
Thanks for the great tip. I have some printable coupons that are $2.50/1, which should make them .34 each-awsome price!
My walgreens no longe takes coupons on free items ex irish spring only one would work also lost all my points my manager was nice and put some back on. And none of the kleenex rang up bogo very sad trip today.
Anyone know how you can get rewards points that didn’t show up? I bought two of the Cottonelle Fresh Care Wipes 42 ct and didn’t get the 500 points on the first transaction but did receive them on the next two transactions.
log into your balance rewards at walgreens.com then click on Credit For Missing Points option. Enter the long RFN# on the bottom of the receipt, and the total. It might take a few days before you’re credited. Or there’s a phone # you can call.
I tried earlier to enter a receipt and the system was offline though.
For some reason i never got the Colgate Spinbrush coupons in my insert. Anyone not going to use this coupon? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Janel W.
