Beware and crop your picture extra careful! Last offer with the 8×10, my mom ordered one for her and I ordered one for me, they cut off our heads. In both pictures. I think on purpose, because the checkout man had no appology just a “deals done and almost all the online ones coming in have the heads cut off” . I will definately watch out on this one!

      I share same experience.

I do as well. Printed a picture of my boyfriend and I and his head was cut in half. Kind of a waste to pick it up.

Same thing happened to me! I took extra care, I thought, to make sure everything looked correct. The final product, after editing on THEIR site, looked great. Got the pic and heads and feet were chopped. I called customer service just to let them know of the issue (obviously I didn’t want anything since it was free in the first place) and all they said was since I used a digital photo “these things happen”. I questioned further as to how would a person know that what they are looking at on their confirmation page is not what they will be getting and again I got the same answer of it was because I used a digital photo. I am more than happy to take advantage of their FREE offers, but don’t think I’ll be using them for paid enlargements. I will say I do like their 4×6 prints though!

Same thing happened to me. Will try again.

It’s not the employees fault. I work in the photo lab and we don’t crop or touch your pictures at all. Your order comes in our computer when you submit it, we put the correct size paper in and it prints. We don’t crop you photo at all. If you use a digital camera that it’s when it would probably crop your picture. Even though it looks ok online it well most likely crop it a bit when it prints, there’s no way to avoid this except if you manually crop the photo to the size you are printing..here its an 8×10. This is because most camera take pictures to fit the standard 4×6 size print. So if you get a4x6 picture then you will get the entire picture in your point. But if you print an 8×10 some of the picture has to get cropped. It gets cropped because it would either have to be cropped or stretched. Because a 4×6 is not evenly converted into an 8×10, because 4 doubled is 8 inches, but 6 doubled is 12 inches and the picture is only an 8×10 inch, so two inches of the picture need to be chopped off in order to buy have your picture stretched, which would look awful. I hope this makes sense to everyone!

I try to go in to gimp (a free program on gimp.net or .org or.com or something) and crop the canvas to 8×10. Works every time 🙂

    • Michelle

Walgreens autocrops all your photos. You have to go into each photo and click crop and it will show you were it will automatically crop your photo, so you can move it to where you want it to crop. Very time consuming but worth it so you don’t get any heads chopped off!

Nice just ordered one of Kids Halloween pics 🙂

  3. Tracy

    Thanks for the deal!

  4. Michele

I found it’s a hit and miss at my Walgreens. I have had some very poor quality ones, but the last couple of enlargements I made for free(with the free coupon codes on here!:) were great!

    • Emilytwinmom

Same here – I usually get great free prints, but once in awhile the color is off or the photo is cropped in a weird way. Free is still free, I’m willing to try it since I get mostly good prints!

  5. Karen

I did crop the pictures, so I was a bit nervous after reading everyones comments. Just picked it up, and came out GREAT no problems at all, looked just like how I wanted it too, no chopped off heads.

  6. Heather J

I always use their cropping tool where you can pick the size you need to crop it to – like the 8×10…that always helps! I think if you select 8×10 without cropping it to an 8×10, you will get these mistakes. 😉

  7. Michele

I love these! Never had a problem with the pictures getting cut off.

  8. laura

Can you get more than one?

  9. Jill

Thanks! I just did a Halloween collage of our family’s costumes!

just picked up my FREE collage. yay!! i love it when walgreens gives out these free photo deals. thanks for the heads up colin. as usual, you rock 🙂

  12. Tracy

I have always had a very good experience when ordering on-line for store pick-up, maybe it’s the employees at the store? I ordered this one for a gift and hope we get another offer before Christmas! Thank you…

  13. Tonia

Wish I could log-in! It’s not recognizing my passowrd and won’t send me a reset link. Now it says I’m locked out adn ahve to call. what a PITA!

  14. margaret in seattle

i can’t believe there are so many out there who got their heads cut off on the enlargement last time. i have got so many free prints at walgreens before and it was the first time that 1/3 of the my son’s forehead has been trimmed off. i didn’t find out til i came home and did not bothered to go back to the store for a reprint ‘cuz it’s free after all. there must be some problem with their software then ‘cuz i always double check how the final image is going to be before placeing the order especially after cropping. maybe i will give them a head up tomorrow when i pick up my collage. but have to say their photo quality is pretty good and only 1 out of 20 was a failure (last time with free 8×10 enlargement)

  15. Tracy

This may be a silly question, but do you think you could use this to make a non-collage print? Thanks!

    • tracy

fyi…in case anyone else is curious, i was able to make one that was just a single photo, though it does look like it will have a bit of a border on it, which is fine – may look a bit like a matte! thanks for this great deal! Ordered a Thanksgiving-themed printable that I will frame for decor.

    • kristin

Yes I just made my “collage” print with just one print…it just has to have a border around it 🙂

      • Jackie

I just made with one pic. on it! Looks great with the extra border, plus, if yours gets cut of, it probably won’t be that much (because of the border). I have gotten these photo deals so many times, I can’t remember the last time I paid for a photo! 🙂 Thanks Collin- You are the best! And loved the lemon costume 🙂

  16. SteelersChick

Does anyone know how long you have to pick the pic up? I won’t be near a Walgreens til the 5th or 6th…

    • kristin

I’ve waited at least a week at times..never had a problem. Ours will usually call to remind you about print if it hasn’t been picked up after so long! 🙂

I’ve never had problems with these. They always turn out well & I’ve had fun printing up collages of my fiance and me. Thanks, Collin!

  18. kim

how do I get space between the photos like it shows in the picture?

    • Betty J

      I think you select border

  19. Denise

I just did one and I can’t wait to go and get it. It will be a special gift for my boyfriend. I am going to pick up a frame today at the Christmas tree shop and it will be a great Christmas gift! Thanks Collin!!

  20. Octavia

I work in the photo lab at the walgreens in Richmond Rd Kentucky and for the heads getting cropped off sometimes it is a digital issue but if the tech really cares they will go in and fix it for you if you ask. I do it all the time. I love these free deals we give out lol. I’ve one been here a month so I’ve only seen two freebies. I hope more come!
