Happy Friday: “Hape” to Help
Sent from reader, Lisa:
When I saw this, I immediately thought of all my friends at Hip2Save and I had to share it with you.
When I came home from work today, I found a note my 8-year-old son left me on the counter. It reads “I finish the coupons. I am happy I can help. Austin” On top of the note, he placed all the coupons he cut out that I had printed the day before. I have never asked him to cut the coupons for me because I never thought he was aware of all my couponing (he has disabilities). It just melted my heart he was “hape to help”, and of course it is for something I just love to do….Couponing!!!
Thank you for letting me share this with you! I thought this was the sweetest thing ever.
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

That is just priceless. Kids do such unexpected things at times, and they just make you love them even more than you already do. Good job, Austin.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing 😃
Thank you so much for sharing this 🙂 It brought “hape” tears to my eyes. This is one of the reasons why I love this site so much, the sense of community and how nice everybody is here, always so positive. @Collin, a testament to you is the sense of “family” that you have created here. Happy Friday everyone!!!!
*LIKE* 🙂
Me too “LIKE”
This is sooooo sweet!! You made me smile big, thank you!!
Teary eyed over here, that is just too precious!!
ditto!
That is a seriously great cursive signature! Yay for him! (They don’t teach cursive here anymore, so I “assign” some writing “homework”for my kids each week. Yesterday, my eighth grader was doing it during some downtime at school and all the kids crowded around his desk to watch. He said it sort of freaked him out until another kid in class said “Yeah, its cool, they do that when I write in Chinese.”)
Dude, they don’t teach it here either. So odd! The other kids at school love when my kids write for them in cursive or in another language.
How sweet,too precious!
Coolest thing ever! Extra hugs for Austin today 🙂
Great job, Austin

me too! made me cry! I love this note!
Thank you for sharing this with us. I was smiling even before reading the story, thinking of some of the notes my children wrote to me when they were young. It is beautiful how he identified a need and filled it – what a wonderful example for us all.
This is so precious, thanks for sharing!
LOVE it! What a sweetheart.
You brought a smile to my face!

Aww, what a sweetie!
That’s the cutest thing ever! GO AUSTIN!!!!!! 👏
That is so sweet!!!!
The simplest unexpected “joys” are what so many memories are made of. Thanks for sharing your heartwarming moment. ♥
What a sweetheart!!! You have a little angel in that young man. 🙂
My three year old daughter likes to get them from the printer tray when I forget to grab them after printing. She asks if she can help by cutting them out…she’s not quite there yet though.
If you have extra coupons or some that printed without a bar code, etc, let her cut those out and be oh, so happy that she did. It is great for her fine motor skills and also lets her know that helping is a good thing.
Austin’s note brought tears to my eyes as I read it—–as a former pre-school and special needs teacher, I love seeing that he took the initiative to help. Great story.
Aww…My eyes just got watery. That is just so cute.
its amazing how our kids pick up our love for couponing my 4 year old twins fight over whos going to bring them off the printer now if i can just get them big enough to cut them ill have it made god bless our children
my kids do too except my husband 🙁
That has just made my day!
Made me smile 🙂
I, too, have a child with special needs, so I know how amazing it is to see that they catch onto things we never even thought they would!!! Also, I know how proud you must be as well for something that some may think is a small thing but in all actuality, probably a HUGE deal to you guys 🙂 Way to go Mommy 🙂
And way to go Austin!!!
Simply Beautiful<3
That’s wonderful! When I first atarted, my granddaughter went with me and out of the blue she told the cashier, “I’m coupon shopping with my grandma.”
Oh my gosh…
that is the cutest thing I’ve ever heard!
Let Austin know how awesome I think he is
and thank you sooo much for sharing! 🙂
I echo the words, “simply beautiful”. Children are gifts from God (sometimes they don’t feel like it, but even then they are). I share your joy in your son’s blessing to you.
very sweet, considering my 9 year old daughter thinks and tells EVERYONE we use coupons because we are poor lol which we are not..ahh such a turd…I once had to yell at her to get her from saying throughout the store MY MOM IS POOR MY MOM IS POOR lol
Tila, oh my goodness LOL..that is too funny!
*Tilla
funny and mortifying:) my husband actually makes a very decent living but i guess i have told her one too many times that she can’t have something because it costs to much!
such a sweetie!!
Beautiful!
Best Friday picture, ever! So ‘hape’ for you that you have an awesome son! 😀
Always amazes me how thoughtful and considerate children can be. We can learn a lot from them! Imagine if we as adults took the initiative to help each other out every day without being asked…what a happy world this would be! Way to go, Austin!! 🙂
This really brings tears to my eyes. I was a special needs teacher. What a wonderful boy!
You made me cry. How sweet!!
