I ordered 2 of the racecars and ONLY got 2 packs of markers!! How frustrating!!

  2. Jill

Yup. Just got the delivery. Markers only.

  3. Sarah

I got only the markers this morning and called customer service. They said to print out a pre paid return label and I would be reimbursed with shipping. The girl was very sweet and apologizing which I was surprised and impressed by. Bummed that I won’t be getting the cardboard cut outs but at least I will get my money back

  4. Ryan

i too just got the markers and crayons…. are you saying they are NOT sending the cardboard cut outs?? whats up with this?

  5. Cat

I just called customer service – she refunded me for the markers (and told me to keep them) and said they would honor the price when it came back in stock again! Now I just have to keep looking and when I order, I should call up and they will adjust the price for me. Not sure if this is worth it or not…

  6. Danielle

I just called and am getting refunded and have to send the markers back. So aggravating. But that’s the cost of a good deal. Sometimes you get duds. I’m happy enough that they’re refunding it shipping and all. So long as they actually follow through on what they say they will do. My confidence in Walmart online has certainly dropped.

  7. Adrienne

Just got 2 packs of markers delivered. Tried calling customer service and couldn’t figure out how to speak to a human and got stuck in an automated loop for longer than is worth it to me. I guess I’ll just keep the markers. I’m glad I didn’t tell my son the racecar was coming because he’d be driving me bonkers. Very frustrating.

    • Debbie Sorgi

If you call, press “5.” It’ll get you through to someone.

  8. Jill w.

I know this was too good to be true but to spend 20 minutes on the phone to return these 1.00 markers is crazy. Right now it is the principal of not honoring what was on the website. what has happened to customer service in this country.

  9. Nicole

I too received my markers today (no Colorbok product). I called customer service to process my return/refund because I had actually cancelled my order online yesterday. I wanted to make sure there would be no problems doing a return because of this. There wasn’t. But for anyone who does not want to sit on hold with customer service you can process your return/refund at walmart.com/returns. It doesn’t seem as though speaking to a real person is necessary to send your items back. And they are refunding shipping costs as well. This will likely be my last “bundle” purchase with Walmart but I must say, the shipping time was incredible. I ordered yesterday, it arrived today. For that I’m impressed. Not receiving my entire order…not so much.

  10. gkawalker

I spent time on the phone and finally got through to customer service who told me I was in the wrong and there wasn’t anything they could do about it. I’d return it all as I ordered 8, but I had them shipped to my nieces and nephews across the country. So I guess a lesson has been learned-don’t buy from Walmart.

  11. Mary

You guys still got markers for $1 however so how about just chalking it up as a loss since we have all gotten TONS of amazing deals prior and being done? Too much complaining really. Like the lady above said she got $170 of groceries for $1.47 – I think thats a great savings so its ok to chalk up a $1 loss. LOL Not enough to get this bent out of shape over for petes sake. I can totally understand if it was $100 loss but $1 loss is silly to complain about.

    • Corrie

It is not $1. It is the shipping as well. I just paid $7 for 24 markers when I didn’t even want markers. My house is overrun with markers. I wanted to cut out for a birthday gift to give this Saturday. It’s not always that simple.

    • jeanie

Try $1.97 for markers when shipping is calculated into it. I’m not chalking it up as a loss. Walmart should not have processed my order if they did not have the merchandise. It’s called false advertising and everyone should get their money back because markers are not what we ordered.

  12. Megan

I’m annoyed by this, but it’s still a good deal since we’ll need all of these things for school next year anyway. Wish they’d honor what they actually sold us and send the coloring books!

  13. Kinia

Yes, I know $1 plus $0.97 for shipping isn’t that big of a deal. However, the only reason I bought this was because of the race car, I have more than enough markers that I stock up at Target during summer for $1 without shipping fees.

My biggest issue is Walmart’s response to this issue. They know it was their website that created the problem. They know all the orders were because people were ordering the race car, the markers/crayons were just the bonus. The reasonable thing would have been for them give you a full refund and NOT put you through the trouble of returning the markers/crayons. Let the customer keep it and call it a compesation for time wasted on something that was their error. But they didn’t see that way, their whole attitude was that we should’ve known better, the terms and con ditions are there, therefore, they are not required to care about it. Their attitude was pretty much so do you want them or not, we don’t really care either way. THAT’s really what pisses me off. Not the fact that I lost a dollar or two.

    • Katie L

I agree with you completely. Their response is the part that annoys me and shows me that it isn’t a store I want to do business with again.

  14. Rachel

the ups guy came and i just told him to return to sender which saves me the hassle of having to print labels and mail it back myself. what a crappy ‘deal’ walmart. you made everyone go in circles for nothing!

  15. nichele

Only got the markers, however, spoke with customer service and they are doing full refunds, keep the markers, and a $10 off $10 coupon via email as an apology

    • lindsay

the person i spoke to on the phone said $15 E gift card!

    • Shirley

Just got off the phone after a while on hold and they said they had a “site issue” and they just announced today they are letting customers keep the markers and will be emailing a $10 ecard within 48 hours from today. Sad not getting the cute boxes buy hey LOVE the free markers/crayons as i bought 6 and then a free $10 to boot! πŸ™‚ GREAT DEAL!! πŸ™‚

  16. lindsay

I just received 5 packs of markers/crayons and thought it was a little weird when the shipping paper said nothing about the cardboard coloring things…i looked at my acct online and same thing…it said i spent $8 on markers (i did not)…so i looked online and found all of these responses….i just called and spoke with someone that said they know it was a problem…tomorrow they will be refunding EVERYONE the whole amount including shipping, everyone can keep the markers/crayons and they will be emailing a $15 gift card to everyone…they said its not necessary for everyone to call but i am sure it wouldnt hurt….i really just wanted them to match their price and give me the stuff for $1 but they said that they can not do that…i am going to have one disappointed 3 yr old! good luck all!

  17. kristen

Bummer! I ordered two sets and I saw that my shipment confirmation only included the crayons/markers, but I assumed that was just how the order was entered, because I hadn’t checked the comments on this page to see that it was an error.

After several attempts to email and call, I finally called Walmart at 1-800-966-6546, and pressed 5 at the first prompt and was directly connected with someone. The agent I spoke with said it is a pricing error and was never intended to be a bundle. She said the protocol on this specific issue is to a)refund us fully within 48 hours b) send us a $10 e-gift card via email and c) let us keep the bonus items we received. So for those of you, like me, who are just now realizing this deal went sour, that’s how to get ahold of them and get your money back! It was actually super easy and I’m glad they are handling it well, I see that it looks like some of you didn’t get such a good answer from them and are having to return items and are not getting the e-gift card for your troubles.

    • Kristie

Just called and got the same response as Kristen. I’m disappointed as I would have liked the cardboard coloring item but am glad they are handling it appropriately.

  18. Lauren

I just called Customer Service and the guy told me that Walmart realized their mistake and within 24 to 48 hours, they’ll be sending the other items in the bundle. (Hopefully the race car and fire truck!) I’ll also be receiving an email confirmation about that with a $10 e-gift card as well. I’m hoping this works out because it was a great deal, but oh well! Things could be worse! The Customer Service guy was really nice about it too! Hope this helps!

  19. andrea hoover

just want to say i received my markers today which i was shocked about since i tried to cancel my order online. i received prompt communication from walmart and a cust service rep tried calling me twice when i emailed back stating how unhappy i was. they are refunding me and letting me keep the markers. i am really impressed with how walmart handled this mixup as i’ve always thought they had terrible customer service. good job walmart!

  20. Bobbie

What a pain; only got the markers, called & they said I could only be refunded if I agreed to some terms & conditions they would email me & I would have to ship them back. Not worth it gonna keep them–but the CS rep acknowledged it was their mistake, thought they’d make some concession…guess I was wrong!!

  21. Daphne

They are refunding me, but not allowing me to keep the markers or giving any gift card.

  22. Mamaof2

Does anyone have a screen shot of the deal? My colors arrived today, but not the cardboard stuff. I’m going to return and fight for my shipping $$, but need proof I ordered more than just colors.

  23. KittyK

Here is what I was told:
It was an error on the web site and they will be refunding everyone who ordered AND everyone can keep the markers/crayons. They also will be sending a gift cards to all who ordered. They notated that I had called on my account, but they said the “Home Office” will be processing the refunds, so they did not do it right then. We shall see.

  24. Mamaof2

I just got off the phoen with customer service. She was super nice and said that their office has been bombarded with calls about this. Walmart if refunding the total amount charged, letting me keep the crayons and markers and mailing me a $10 gift card. She said this is the policy that they adopted to deal with this problem and if you call, they will do it for you too.

  25. KittyK

EVERYONE – PLEASE POST WHEN YOU GET YOUR REFUNDS/GIFT CARDS SO WE CAN COMPARE NOTES.
    THANKS!

  26. diane

I just called them and was told I would not receive the cardboard items. The rep said I could return the markers for a refund at the store. I asked about the shipping and he said he would refund me the shipping charges because they can’t do that in the stores. He never mentioned a gift card or full refund without returning the markers:(

  27. Anna

On the phone with customer rep and first she said I didn’t select the cardboard car in a bundle, so I can return it as is. I told her I saw this deal on a blog and it was in fact walmart mistake and a lot of people have already called in about it. She put me on hold and now its bein refunded with $10 e gc and get to keep the markers. It is nice of them giving out gc, would have returned the markers if not anyway since I wanted save the bundles for birthdays. However before she found out this problem was going on with lot of people, she had an attitude when I told her it isn’t my fault. So I would mention there are other people having same issue if customer rep gives you hard time. Yes, it seems if they research a bit it is known as a problem and they are giving same option for those who ordered the deal.

  28. Kiki

I was told to keep the markers, will be refunded the full amount and will be emailed an egift card for $10. I wanted the coloring boxes to play with my son but am pleased they took care of it.

  29. Jen

I was told to print out a return label and I would have to call UPS to have them picked up. No offer of a gift card nor was I told to keep the markers. Very annoying!

    • Lynn

write an email to them about it if phone conversation didn’t work!!

  30. Claudia

Received e-mail confirming refund and was allowed to keep markers. I was told that gift card e-mail would arrive within 24hrs.

  31. Jill a

I preferred the race car, fire truck, and store, with markers, and only got the markers. I called 1-800-Walmart and they apologized for the error, and refunded my money (including shipping), and I don’t need to return the 3 packs of markers I received. So I basically got 3 packs of markers for free! Worth a call if you want your money back

  32. Bonny

I just called… got the response that everyone is getting you must call to get your refund. You will get to keep your items and an $10 e-gift card per order will be e-mail within 48 hours.

  33. Liz

I just called and was told they didn’t see the colorbook order just the markers/crayons then all of a sudden their system was updating and I could not be helped but they would note my account. How can you update an account when the system is updating? Rep had no idea about the pricing issue either. Ugh!

  34. Kerri

I just called Walmart.com as I too received only the markers πŸ™ The nice gentleman on the phone said that I would be receiveing a full refund within 48 hours, and an additional $10.00 per bundle I bought. So, to clarify, I said, being I ordered 4, that would be $40 gift card by email? He said yes. And to keep the markers.
I must admit that I was alittle upset about only getting the markers…But if we all truly get this refund and ecard by email, then we have nothing to complain about as Walmart has made ammends…But, now we have to wait 48 hours…And sometimes they tell you that, but never follow through…I am going to think positive and say they will follow through, being it was their error. I am going to take that money and go to the store and buy the item I orginally wanted.
    Hope this helps someone…

  35. Amy H.

I called tonight and they are reimbursing me the whole cost but I have to mail back the markers. The gentleman was very apologetic and said that he has gotten a ton of calls on this today.

    • Amy H.

I was not offered a gift card and was told that I would need to agree to an affidavit??

  36. Ginny L

I just spoke to a customer service rep a few minutes ago informing him that I had cancelled the order yesterday due to a glitch with Walmart and yet I received the markers today. He knew the situation and he told me to keep the markers and they will refund me the full amount and in addition they will credit me $10.00 for the inconvenience. He said that I should be receiving an email with instructions of what to do. Just a heads up. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with their customer service. Let’s hope they follow through.

  37. Nichole

No $10 credit for me. I did get my shipping credited so I am fine with the markers at $1 a pack.

  38. Nicole

I too just got off the phone with customer service because of receiving only the markers. The very nice rep I talked to said that she was very sorry for the inconvenience and that they would be sending out a $10 gift card and refunding me the entire amount and that I could keep the markers. Very impressed with the customer service in this situation.

  39. Darcey

I just received this email. I was going to just chock it up to a deal gone bad and keep the markers. I figured it wasn’t worth the hassle. But they ended up fixing things quite nicely I think!

“Unfortunately, there has been an error with the bundle you recently ordered on our site. One or more of the items you selected was unavailable, and we are unable to send you the missing item(s). We apologize for any inconvenience, and want you to know you may keep the other items from this bundle free of charge and we will issue a full refund. You will receive a separate email with your refund amount within the next 48 hours.

Also, to thank you for your understanding, we’re emailing you a $10 eGift Card to apply towards a future Walmart purchase online or in stores. You’ll receive the eGift Card in a separate email within 48 hours.”

  40. Lena

I also received markers only. I was thinking on returning them. Got email this morning saying how sorry they are and that I can keep them, they will refund me for them and I also got $10 gift card! Bumped about not getting the right items but impressed with the customer service.

  41. Stephanie

Orders 3 sets of the different Color & Play’s… Got an email that it shipped… I got home to find 16 markers and 8 thick crayons! I was confused but didn’t have time to call just then… Later that evening I got and email that they screwed up and are giving me a full credit and can keep the stuff I’ve already received for free and they sent me a $10 egift card to use in the store or online… now that’s customer service!! πŸ™‚

  42. Laura

This morning, I received an apology email from Walmart. I had ordered 4 of the Colorbok deal – scheduled to arrive today (markers only). The Walmart email said that I should keep the markers and they would issue a full refund; they will also be issuing me a $10 gift card within 48 hours. Well done, Walmart!

    • Felicia

I just got an email as well, they’re offering a full refund, plus a $10 gift card for the mistake & told me to keep the markers:)

  43. Heather

I planned on calling this morning to talk to customer service because like the rest of you, I only received my markers. Checked my email this morning and found an email from Walmart:

Unfortunately, there has been an error with the bundle you recently ordered on our site.

You’ll receive the eGift Card in a separate email within 48 hours.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR YOUR EMAIL!

  44. Shawn

I got the same e-mail this morning – keep the markers we will send you a $10 ecard. We can use that to buy the cardboard. Yes it was a hassle but I feel they made it right in the end.

    • Kimberly

      ME Too πŸ™‚ I ordered 4

  45. Jenny

I ordered 1 of each and only the markers shipped. I just received another email this morning apologizing for the mistake, I can keep the markers free of charge(they are issuing me a refund) and they are sending me a $10 e-gift card. Hopefully the same happens to everyone else!!!

  46. Debbie

I too ordered for the racecar. The jumbo crayons are nice for my granddaughter but the price + shipping wasn’t a good price. I called and they easily refunded me the money and let me keep the crayons. The man was very nice and thanked me for being nice also. I asked him if he had been getting yelled at over it. He said he hadn’t but others have had irate customers and it wasn’t the operators fault. He said Walmart had so many orders at once that they couldn’t fill the orders. He thanked me for being nice about 3 times. I then got an email today apologizing for what happened and said I would be receiving a $10 e-card. Even though I was truly disappointed in not receiving the car, I guess I can always go back to the way I did it with my kids and get a free box from one of the stores from their storage bin and the grand kids can color that. My kids loved that free box. I go into these offers knowing that they might not be fulfilled. Then I’m not disappointed. Sometimes deals are too good to be true.

  47. LP

Hi Everyone- for those who said they did not receive information about a $10 gc or keeping the markers/crayons- check your spam folder. That’s where I found the apology email from Walmart stating I would receive a full refund, could keep the markers and would receive a $10 gc.

  48. Alleykay

I just recieved an e-mail saying my money is being refunded due to fulfillment issues but I will still recieve all the markers and crayons! Plus they are sending me a $10 gift card. Although I would have liked the car I’m happy with the way they handled this.

  49. Elise

Just got the refund email too πŸ˜€

  50. Heidi

I had sent them a heated email last night saying they had lost a customer. But this morning they sent an email saying I could keep the markers, I would be receiving a full refund, and they are issuing me a $10 gift card to Walmart. I am impressed with how they handled this and they have won me back πŸ™‚ I have heard to check your spam folder if you are not seeing the email this morning — they should be sending it to everyone!

    • andrea

I got the same email!! woohoo! was NOT expecting this from Walmart! I was very surprised and thankful!
