As most of you know, 9/16/12, was the start of the new Walgreens Balance Rewards Program! Even sweeter, on 5/5/13, they started a new point system in which you can redeem your points once you reach just 1,000 points. Please head here to read all about it.

You would need to do 2 separate transactions. usually cashiers are nice about it if you ask them nicely. Don’t use the RR from the first transaction on the 2nd though. If you do the RR won’t print the second time around.

Did anyone else have trouble with the second coupon beeping on the Scrubbing Bubbles toilet bowl cleaner deal? The cashier wouldn’t accept it, even though it was very apparent that it was for the correct product. (This was a coupon from the insert, not a printable.)

The coca cola 3/3$ on two liters is such a great deal!! They ran this a few weeks ago also. Great time to stock up on coke, diet coke etc for all the coming holiday party’s. The “Yes To” products were not ringing up on sale at the store I went to. Since a coupon was used the mgmt didn’t know what to do. So frustrating! I wish Walgreens would get their prices correct in their system. The manager was rude and it wasn’t my fault their system wasn’t right.
I had a horrible time trying to buy $30 in “Yes To” stuff and using three coupons. They had to void the whole transaction (which was a TON) and re-ring it FOUR times, before I finally gave up and just used two because they couldn’t do the math even with a calculator. Sheesh. The new Wags registers and the system is TERRIBLE. I give up on Walgreens frequently.
I tried to use the $10/3 gas-x coupon along with the $2Oct. Savings coupon and the $10 coupon did not work. The system would not take the coupon and the cashier did not believe me when I told him he could adjust the price down.
The coupon wouldn’t register at all. I was spending just over $16 in gas x, so both the WAGS coupon and the manufacturer’s coupon should have worked. The store manager read the $10/3 gas X coupon and it says not be used with any other coupon. So, he would only let me use one coupon. (WAGS or Manu) I should have voided the transaction but I didn’t. WAGS is always full of lessons. Maybe someone can tell me why this happened. Should they have scanned the manu q first then the wags q? Would that make a difference?
Yes, always hand over store coupons last. Wags is the only place that I know if where it really matters, but their system is whack. Sorry that happened. Go back and get a refund and rering it if you have the time and stamina for their stupid system. lol
I’m all out if stamina with Wags so I will chock this one up to “stupid tax.” Usually, if I pay more because of my mistake, I learn from it.
Just FYI – Walgreens would not accept my $5.00 off $10.00 Yes To coupon when I tried to purchase 2 cleansers at $9.99 each. She said the products had to be at least $10.00 apiece. I don’t agree since the coupon said a $10.00 purchase, but I just had her take them off. 🙁
That’s interesting because as I mentioned above, mine didn’t ring up on sale but it took the coupons! I got 4 travel size 10 ct facial towelettes at $2.99 each (11.96 total before sale). But prior to the coupons the 50% off wouldn’t come off. They are so inconsistent.
No Green Mountain K-Cups at my Miami-area store, bummer. At least I got my Maxwell House at CVS! Not all the Keebler cookies rang up the sale price, so watch that (Sandies didn’t), too. The Merci chocolates BOGO Qs each took off $8.99, but I corrected it for the cashier. Would’ve been a nice payday, eh? The “Yes To” deal is a HUGE pain, so I settled for a halfway decent instead of stellar deal there. No Advil PM 4-ct at my store – if anyone wants my 6 MQs to trade for the My Little Pony IPs, please let me know. I have the $10/3 Gas-X MQs, too (four of these) if someone wants them. Not on sale at my store. Sigh…. We don’t have Rite Aid here, Wags is always a bummer, so my heart belongs to CVS!

I got both the points and the RR for the 4 Scrubbing Bubbles today, but the Scott Paper towels coupon from the paper they read to be used alone, without stacking the Walgreen’s Booklet coupon. I did the deal last week, no problem. The manager said that if anyone allowed a coupon to be stacked with that manufacturer coupon, they were wrong, and the store would not be reimbursed. Of course I deferred, but wondered if anyone else is getting fed up with the changes in Walgreen’s couponing rules, and how the various stores are interpreting them? I do feel sorry for the clerks, and am always very kind and understanding….(It can be off-putting to have a line of customers watching one of these scenarios)…I am so grateful for this site, and all the hard work that goes into getting so many scenarios put together for all of us. 24 pack Dasani water is $3.49 at my Walgreen’s. I think that is a GOOD price for Dasani.

I went into Walgreens today on this rainy day. I tried to use the Oberto and Chobani coupons and was told that because it states redeemable at Wal-Mart the checker wouldn’t accept either

Amazing how clueless cashiers still are on the “redeemable at” cpn wording. I suppose coupon training is a thing of the past?!?!
I would kindly inform them that as long as it states Manufacturer coupon on the top, it’s redeemable anywhere [the store will get reimbursed for that amount].
I would print the simple “Walgreens corporate coupon policy” [Collin has a link above], and highlight that section. Go get’m tiger! 🙂
i live in metro detroit and did not get RR for the scrubbing bubbles either. maybe it is a regional.
I bought 4 Boxes of Green MountainCups and did NOT get any RR’s back, the Manager told me it isnt listed anywhere so I will have to call RR Company to get reimbursed. That is a big PAIN in the butt!
I bought three and only got a $1.50 RR. I figured I couldn’t complain since it’s not even advertised. 🙁
