Macy’s: FREE $10 Gift Code (Download App)
Through December 17th, head on over to the iTunes store or Google Play to download this new Macy’s Star Gifts app to score a FREE $10 Macy’s gift code! Here’s what you’ll need to do:
*Download the Macy’s Star Gifts App for FREE (on your mobile phone)
*Once the app has successfully downloaded, open it
(it should look as if you are about to take a picture of something)
*Go to Macys.com’s Best Brands Catalog (on your computer)
*Point your smart phone towards the second page titled Macy’s Start Gifts App until a red gift box appears (as pictured above). When you see the gift box, simply tap on the gift and a super short video of Clinton Kelly should start playing automatically.
*When the video is finished, you will be able to click “Get your $10 Digital Gift Code Now”. Enter your information and your FREE $10 gift code will be sent to you via text message (mine came instantly).

The order gets cancelled, but the gift card is still good to use if that happens. It happened to me this morning.
I downloaded the macys new app on my iphone and I am trying to get the $10 gift card promo. However, every time I enter my phone number, the zero gets automatically deleted! Please let me know what to do.

Collin put the website that you go to then you need to go to the second page and scan that with your phone. Watch the video and then you will have the option for the $10 coupon code. Hope this helps.

used the code online to order a gift card, order got cancelled, and they sent me an email with a phone number to call, anyone know if we really have to call in or if the gift codes get refunded?
Just got off the phone with macys my order was cancelled gift card not refunded they said there is a glitch with how the gift cards were being offered and something with fraud….going to fire off complaint letter to macys.

I tried ordering the gift card and my ordered got canceled. I tried using the same giftcard number and it won’t allow me to use it anymore. They gave me a number to call…. looks like I lost my giftcard.
usually in such promotions, they exclude giftcard purchases (though they dont mention it) i once had such an experience with babies r us (maybe 4 yrs back)..so beware..dont order giftcard
Shame on macys they should have been clear in the details of this promo even the text lacked substance. When I called the woman said ALL gift cards were being cancelled – don’t know if that appears to be completely accurate but nonetheless macys is getting a complaint letter from me I wasted my time in doing the app promo, making a purchase online and then being on hold for over 15 mins.
Totally agree with you Heather. Macy’s should have been more clear. What a great way to anger a bunch of customers who wasted their time.
Can you clarify please – Do you mean that all orders of gift cards with the code are being cancelled or that all the codes that were texted were cancelled for everybody?
I think it was pretty silly that so many people tried to order a gift card with a gift card code. That was not the idea I’m sure. Macy’s wanted you to enjoy shopping. Not rolling the benefit. Hopefully this doesn’t ruin the promo for everyone and all gift codes stop working.

Seriously, why would you try to order a giftcard when you have a giftcard already?
Two reasons. 1. To use as a stocking stuffer.
2. Because cashiers often have trouble with these kind of codes but they all recognize a physical giftcard.
When you get the code in a text, is that all you show when checking out? Mine just came with a long number. I was expecting a link to the actual gift card for a cashier to scan.

Maybe it was already mentioned, but does anyone know when this will expire? Has anyone used this at the store? Do you just show them your text on your phone? I just received a text with a super long code…not a bar code or anything. Thanks in advance for any input!! 🙂

I tried to purchase a physical card early this morning for $11 as stated by some hip2savers. I got a call from a Macy’s representative just now verifying my shipping address. I thought they were going to cancel my order or something but they told me that my order is scheduled to ship out on the 13th. Yey!
Has anyone had a gift card purchase NOT get cancelled?? I purchased 2 seperate $55 gift cards almost 3 hours ago and charged the extra $5 from each to my debit card. The pending charges are showing on my bank account and I have confirmation emails. Hoping for these to not get cancelled.
They will get cancelled. I was told they are not allowing more then one $10 gift card per transaction now.

Yes you can use up to 5 in one transaction in store.
I just spoke to a rep and you cannot purchase gift cards with gift cards! STOP trying to do that your order WILL get cancelled!!

Yes. Earlier in the day, customers were allowed to use as many gc’s as they wanted. I went an hour before closing & was only able to use 1 per transaction. I did a total of 3 trans.
I tried using these gift cards on clothes and a waffle iron (online), all my orders are being canceled by macys! What a waste of time!

I placed an order for 3 jackets (no gift cards) but received an e-mail stating my order was canceled.

I just tried to process an order using multiple gift card codes and my order was not going through. I was told to call the consumer protection line where I was told that the issue is the you can only use ONE giftcard per order. So if you process the order with let’s say 5 gift cards it will get cancelld cuz the limit is 1. THIS IS TOTAL BS!
This honestly sounds like scheme like Walmart did to attract customers!!!
Its not a scheme! People were taking advantage, using hundreds of dollars of these free giftcards in one transaction. Those people make it horrible for us!
I placed 2 separate orders around 3pm-ish, both with $50 in GCs. Spent $11 total for 2 separate orders. Got confirmation emails and confirmed shipped emails. Guess I got lucky.
No offense but I don’t believe you. I doubt your orders would have shipped immediately.
I ordered $63 worth of stuff and used $50 in giftcards. My order was shipped the next day and not cancelled. Some got lucky and some didn’t. But saying you don’t believe her is kind of rude. Don’t believe me if you want to, but I’ll be the one enjoying my stuff!

I tried to use 5 of the cards on and order of 85$ and it was canceled within 5 mins. Its a scam BC if u order something for under $100 they charge you $10 in shipping.. so u don’t really get $10. The only way you can do it is if you can use the codes in the store so you wouldn’t have to pay shipping.. but u could only use 1 per transaction. The other bs is they don’t give the credit for the codes back.
My order was canceled, & I was able to use the same codes in store. They only allowed 1 code per transaction. I did 3 transactions.
I can’t figure out what I’m supposed to scan. I have a galaxy phone. I downloaded the app. Then I went to the site and the page with the scan this page and get a $10 gift. Not seeing what I scan. Can anyone help?

This is crap! I went through the entire thing, my total showed they accepted the code for the 10 dollars so I confirmed my ordered. The email I got showed differently and that they didn’t acknowledge the gift card and charged me the full amount! I had to go back in and cancel my order!
Just so you know… All confirmation emails will show the total amount and not show any deductions from the gift codes, but your bank or credit account will show a pending charge of a lesser amount that would include the deduction of the codes.
Oh good to know, I will try again and see what happens.
But if u canceled the order they may not give u the credit for the cards back…check the balance on the cards first b4 u try to use them again.
I am remaining hopeful. I ordered 2 gift cards around 2pm and now at 9pm they still say “processing: for shipment” when I check the order status. The order confirmation emails have a ship date of 11/13/2013

They are canceling because it’s supposed to be only one gc per person. And everyone took advantage of getting numerous. If you go into Macy’s they are able to use all of your $10 off codes. Online is catching it and canceling.

Okay so my friend had 10 codes sent to her phone, and she used ALL of them at the register! She got 100$ Worth of makeup for free! Either the worker didn’t catch on or she didn’t care! all she did was read off the code numbers from her phone. I tried to have a code sent to my phone but I’m not getting any text, they must have FINALLY caught on!
Went into the store and got $250 worth of clothes for $50. They used 20 codes, apparently today was the last day for that store to take these gc due to “loss prevention”. The other macys I went to only accepted one code per transaction!
Which they should. Unless you have 20 phones that you got these codes on then you are trying to steal form them and scam the store. People like you are why these deals get changed.
We went to the store and the sales clerk was nice enough to say that they will honor one $10 gift card per person. But she let us use one for each transaction. So we were able to use 4 of them in four separate transactions. And yes, she just entered the coupon number into her system when we showed her our text message.
I got thru the whole process but never recieved one text! Sux!
From the Macy’s ad that this deal came from… “Cannot be redeemed for cash (except as required by law) or applied as payment or credit to any credit card account. One digital code per person. Incentive ends 11/17/13. Digital gift code expires 12/17/13.” So those getting up in arms about not being able to use multiple codes together who are firing off angry emails won’t really have any defense!
Thanks for posting this. I really don’t understand why people were trying to buy gift cards. Macys posted this deal so people would use their $10 gift card code to buy something and Macys could make a buck or two as well. People who try to take unfair advantage of promotions are the reason why stores are getting frugal when it comes to coupons and deals.
It makes me sad that people are using 10 and 20 codes at one time when it specifically states one digital code per person…ruining for the rest of us that just wanted one code to actually buy something in the store. Come on guys–couponing needs to be about honesty and kindness.
I agree. People who are using more than one code should not feel lucky or proud of themselves yet they feel ashamed for cheating the store and other ppl out of deals and future coupons.
Why should anyone feel ashamed? I signed up and received my code. My mom and sis signed up and gave me their codes because they know I love macy’s. Are you saying you wouldn’t accept the codes?
Yeah…bc it says one per person. What part of that do you not understand? I love Macys and a lot of other things but it doesn’t make it okay for me to break or bend the rule to get them 🙂
There will soon come a time when these codes and promotions don’t exist anymore because of reasons stated above.
I have great understanding. I also understand that I received a code and another person received a code. FYI I placed an order through live chat. I explained the reason we were combining our codes and I asked if that was ok. I was told you can stack up to 25. As long as you are comfortable in your shoes, you shouldn’t comment on what others do. Funny that you say deals won’t exist for reasons stated above. Have you ever considered one of the reasons may be because deal sites with 100,000 plus “followers” post these codes and promotions.
