    has anyone purchased in CA?

    • Carly

Yes, just did about 15 minutes ago – Central Cali

    • Kimberly B

Yes, I did it in southern CA as well.

      • christine

what part of southern california may i ask and what time did you purchase? I want to make a trip right now but many are stating it was pulled or is not working

        • Cindy

Worked in Central CA at 7:00pm; store even had a sign up showing deal. I bought two (in separate transactions) and received two $50 ECB’s. I then went home, activated the cards and bought about $300 worth of discounted gift cards on Raise.com! Great deal!

  2. Debby

I have a friend who works at another store who is going to give me a paypal mastercard because our cvs does not have any. The $50 does work in our area. Do you think another card from another store will matter? Its the same paypal mastercard shown online.

    • amy

She can probably get in trouble for doing that.. thats just my opinion.

    • Ketsy

I wouldn’t take it from the store. Even if not active, it is stealing. Would hate to get caught and go to jail for stealing an empty gift card.

      • Tia

That seems a bit extreme! I highly doubt someone is going to jail for taking an inactive gift card. I actually have 2 in my nightstand from Target because they’re really cute and I want to use them in the future.

        • Nikki Allen

I would never take anything out of a store without purchasing it or loading it. It isn’t “free” for the taking. To me it is the equivalent of taking straws from the cafe without purchasing the drink, or envelopes from the greeting cards without purchasing the card. JMO

          • Tia

Have you ever asked? The “cafe” just might say yes if you asked for a straw even if you didn’t buy the drink. Just like the cashier at Target told me to take the extra cards. So many high horses……

  3. Sara

huh? you have to buy the 150 dollar paypal mastercard at cvs to get the 50 dollars in cvs points, duh. why would you buy a 50 dollar mastercard giftcard somewhere else? o.O

    • Diana

Huh? I think you’re confused about what you’re supposed to purchase to get $50 in CVS extra bucks, and I’m confused at what you’re asking. LOL

      1. Buy the reloadable paypal card from CVS costs $4.95.
      2. Load at least $150 into the card (At this point, the money is STILL YOURS, just that it’s loaded into the card, that’s all)
      3. Get paid $50 in CVS Extra bucks for doing the above. Yay!

      HTH 🙂

  4. LannaEmma

    has anyone purchased on CA?

    • Jennifer

I just did in San Diego, CA and it worked!

    • Charity

Yes, just purchased it in san clemente. Worked great.

    • helen

      Yes Fresno CA it worked

    • RT

Yeah just purchased it at the 24 hour CVS in El Cajon, CA corner of Navajo & Fletcher Pky. They’re sold out now, but I checked with the CVS on Jackson & Navajo and they still had some!

  5. Karen

It worked for me in Charlotte NC. It was not in my weekly ad or was there any signs in the store. I went to the CVS website and it was listed on there. I printed that out in case I had any problems, but it went right through.

    • Heather

Which Charlotte Store? Activation was not working at Steele Creek.

      • Karen

Heather, the one I went to was on the corner of Tom Short and Rea Rd in South Charlotte.

        • kaf414

I was also told by a manager at Harris Teeter that they accept ECB’s. I have never tried it, but I will be soon.

  6. Megan

A cashier told me that they aren’t honoring the $50 ECB (at that store at least). Guess I’m not doing the deal

    • jessica

I went to 2 stores. The first one I went to was honoring the deal this morning and then decided not to after they got the email from corporate telling them to pull them, went to another store at 4 pm and it worked just fine, guess they didn’t get the email lol

  7. bec

I just did this deal in Reading, PA… the CVS I went to had plenty of these cards and the ECBs printed out with no issue at all!

    • KAT

      Bec,
I’m in Reading as well! Which one did you go to?

  8. Caitlin

This is not a glitch! My receipt even had the offer on the ECB tally that prints at the bottom of the receipt. I just did this deal in Texarkana, TX.

  9. Cece

    anybody tried this in Indiana?

    • Renee

It worked for me in Greencastle, IN. I read some comments where another said it worked in Greenwood, IN. (Both are in/ near the Indianapolis area.)

    • Kathy

      Worked in Logansport, IN.

    • Olin

Yes, I bought it today at fishers IN
but FYI when you activate it you need to give out yor sensitive info: SSN and birth date. My hubby argued with cust serv and finally they activate it without those info but we can’t use it online. I have been using the card whole day today with no problem

    • Jennifer

Worked in Plainfield …. no problem!

    • Cece

ok thanks! Hopefully works for me!

  10. sha0927

Its two per household it wasn’t in my ad either and worked couponing4ever on instagram

  11. Ali

I went to 2 different stores. The first did not carry them and told me that it was not in their flyer. I brought it up on my phone and it was shown to be in their flyer. They called another store that claimed to have it. Went there and they did not have it but the manager gave me a paypal card instead and printed out the $50 since I showed the ad. Great deal. BTW, I am in Westchester, NY

    • Kristine

which store is that? I could not find any store in white plains, elmsford, hartsdale, scarsdale, yonker have it.

  12. JESUS BELLO

HOW LONG DOES THE CVS EXTRABUCKS LAST??? WHEN DO THEY EXPIRE?

    • debra

      Printed today mine expire 12/24

  13. Laurie

I tried to buy the PayPal card, but after they charged me for it the card would not activate. They refunded me the $154.95 AND gave me the $50 ECB receipt. 🙂

    • Lisa

that’s exactly what happened to me in Corpus Christi, I didn’t argue with them!

    • Gabby

Don’t try to cheat. ECG won’t be valid anyways.

      • RT

You’re silly! If course the ECBs are valid! A manager has the right to print ECBs as he/she sees fit!

    • Jenn

Gift cards are non-refundable, so I don’t see how they did that. It physically doesn’t let you do it in the register.

      • RT

It says it’s not a gift card on it so maybe that’s how? It’s actually a prepaid debit card and you have to pay a monthly fee to keep it. You get a real card in the mail with your name on it after you activate the temporary card you get at the store.

    • Tomoko

Same thing happened to me except my cashier took the $50 ECB from the receipt. You are lucky!

  14. Concerned shopper.

Be cautious of this card. It is activated as soon as you buy it and you have to pay a monthly fee on it after 30 days and to actually use it, u have to register it and have to give a lot of personal info. It is a big disaster . Beware. It is not from paypal but uses the name.

    • RT

They ask for your social security number which I refused to give. They said I could use it, but was restricted to making purchases only and couldn’t take advantage of the other “great” features. Then I have 90 days to provide my social security number or the account will be closed!

      • Concerned shopper.

If u do buy it and load the money , use all of it in the 30 days of purchase of the card and then close the account or u will be responsible for a close to $5 monthly fee. Look at the small print. I bought this card in the past but did not know all this stuff until after I purchase it. Regretted it. Trying to share my experience.

        • RT

Yeah thats why I wouldn’t give them any personal information! I gave them a fake address and name and no social security number! They’ll have a difficult time finding me, lol! Its ridiculous they’re trying to get all that personal info.

  15. Andrea

What are your ideas for spending a $50 Extra Buck? We’ll have to spend it all in one transaction. I’d love to hear all of your ideas for making the most out of the $50 EB. Thanks.

    • debra

Buying something I can return and they will give me a gift card back.

      • Tonya H

        seriously…..

        • Potato

          lol

    • chrissyc333

I did this deal first, got the $50 ECB, and then did all the other CVS deals for the week! I got about 20 of the freebie deals, and paid with the $50 in ECB plus a few dollars OOP. Then I got back a ton of smaller denomination ECBs that I can use in multiple transactions over the next month. This was actually a perfect week for that $50 since there are SO many freebies! 🙂

      • bradley9

I wish I could do that! I’d already bought all the deals before I found out about this $50 EB deal. 🙁

        • candy

I stocked up on toilet paper, paper towels and baby wipes/diapers!!!

    • arielM

im thinking of buying fragrance sets for my dads Christmas present

    • nina

That have a black friday ad…for thurs friday..I will use mine then…

      • nina

They have the toys and other gift items buy one get one in there black friday ad

  16. Acacia

I just got this deal to work for me here in Tucson. The cashier said she hadn’t heard anything about this deal, I was the first one she knew to try it.

  17. Mary

I just did the deal in Mass. Worked perfect! Thanks!

  18. Tara

I did it in TN and it worked just fine. It was actually the manager that rang me up. He asked me if I was doing it to get the gc and said No one had tried it so I was his ginea pig. It worked perfectly. I saw him go and check the computer afterwards but when I was finished checking out after using the gift card there were still over 10 on the shelf so I grabbed another one. I figure I could grab cokes or toilet paper to spend the gc if there is nothing else I want in the next couple weeks. Awesome deal

  19. Mary

I have to add……Cvs in mass didn’t have the Paypal card but the manager said to pick out any card and load it with $150 and he would honor the deal.

    • ashley

Same thing for me in wisconsin! I asked a manager if this deal was working and where the cards were. He said they didnt have that particular one in store but to just pick any reloadable card and he’d make the ecb print… whoohooo

    • Jen

Where in MA? Hoping for Boston area, so I can do this!

      • Kayla G

Hey Jen, I’m in Boston. I checked a few CVS’s in my area and none at the cards. When I asked no one really knew what I was talking about. Hope you have better luck than me!

  20. Beth

Has anyone tried this in the Nashville TN area??

    • Beth

      Or any middle tennessee area?

      • Amanda

It worked for me in east memphis area.

    • Nette420

Got the deal on two cards on Charlotte this morning.

  21. edy

Has anyone done it in Houston,tx ??

    • Maria

Tiffany did hers in the woodlands and I did mine in north houston with out any trouble.

  22. Beth

Has anyone tried this in the Louisville KY area?

  23. Stephanie

Can I buy the card then get the money out at an ATM?

    • debra

Yes, but I think they charge $1.95. Would be better to purchase a $10 walmart gift card and get cash back for the $140. You set up a pin number when yo activate the card.

    • jessica

Yes you can, you will be charged $2 from the card and $2 from atm, or you can use it in a store and ask for cash back and only be charged $2 from the card for getting the cash back, hth

    • Dawn

I used my prepaid card at Safeway to buy $99.73 in groceries. I selected cash back option and took the remaining $50.27 back with no fee.

    • RT

I went to Albertson’s and they let me get up to $100 cash back with the card.

  24. Laura

I find it hard to believe this deal isn’t legit and CVS has sent out emails telling stores to pull the cards considering the online ad hasn’t been pulled! In my opinion that would be the first thing that should of been done before emails were sent out! I was able to get the deal but the pay pal system was down so they honored it with other gift cards!

    • Heather

Agreed, it seems those stores that pulled that cards are the ones where the activation isn’t working for some reason.

    • Allie

They did send an email, I read it. It was a typo, meant to be $5. Whoever messed up is probably gonna be fired.

      • Livvy

I seriously doubt this was a typo. Getting a $5 ECB for a $150 purchase isn’t much of an incentive. Also, if it was just a typo in the ads, then why is a $50 ECB printing?

    • kaf414

      AGREE!!

  25. Heather

Charlotte NC (Steele Creek) – store said the ECB was not a glitch but the system is not activating the cards correctly. SO, they were asked to pull the cards until the activation issue is corrected. They said it is working in some stores in the Charlotte area and not others.

    • Tomoko

I just came back from my CVS and they told me the same thing. I will go back tomorrow morning to try again and hope it will work.

  26. Kidsallgone

Worked at 5pm in the Charleston, SC area. The manager didn’t have a clue and was like, “Holy smokes! I’ve never seen an extra buck that big!”

Question though: some are saying they have gotten 2. Was that with the same cvs card? Thanks for any replies.

    • mel

yes, its limit 2 same cvs card. but IMHO, it really isn’t worth it with the activation and fees associated with it.

      • Nikki Allen

I don’t understand how any amount of “free money” isn’t worth it? I’ll be doing this twice tomorrow.

    • Gen

I did and as an added bonus I used the first $150 card to buy the second one and it worked 🙂

      • Kidsallgone

Oh my goodness!!! What a great idea!! So did u pay the $4.95 with cash? Or debit? Or credit? Def going to try that tomorrow!

  27. erin012

I didn’t see them at my store today.. checked 2 GC racks.. 🙁

    • Melissa

Ask the cashier…my store had them behind the counter…hth

  28. Sabs

DID anyone try in Central IL?

  29. nunyabiz

Yes that is what I would like to know, can you use the same CVS card?? More than once later on?

  30. John Rust

Just got this at Rivergate CVS in Charlotte, NC! Amazing deal! Thanks!

  31. Ape

I looked in our ad and it’s not advertised but online when I put out zip code it shows up there. Weird. I’m sick, so I’m sending my husband when the baby goes to bed. Hopefully it goes well!

  32. nunyabiz

It says online it’s 1 per household with card, has anyone used the same CVS card more than once and received two $50 ecb?

    • gingerginger

yes I can confirm it prints 2 per card 🙂

    • gingerginger

yes I have received 2 from one card 🙂

    • Jac

Yes, I bought two in separate transactions with the same CVS card. The advertised limit was one, but the receipt showed “amount to next reward $150” after the first purchase.

  33. Dani

Ok it does take some doing but it can be done. I thought I activated it in the cvs but it did not work. I called the back of the card and followed the prompts but it did not work. I tried to buy something online but it did not work so I called the card and after a long wait talked to a live person who activated it and it worked great. Now I have to wait till my balance says zero to cancel the card. Don’t forget or it will charge you 4.95 again! Now if I could figure out what I need for $50 at cvs!!!

  34. kimberly

3:30 pm all the cards in the Brockport NY store were gone, I suspect they pulled them.

  35. kittycatmedia

Here’s the thing about the paypal monthly $4,95….say you do the deal and then go and get $150 worth of supermarket or Walmart gift cards, zero-ing out your paypal card….so if you DONT cancel your paypal card within that 36 hour period, we’re saying that they would charge you $4.95….CHARGE WHAT??? if you have a zero balance, how can they expect to charge you? It’s like that Seinfeld bit in the 90’s where you finish your phone call at a payphone, hang up and start to walk away and then the phone rings and its the operator saying you owe more money! It’s like, “whats the operator gonna do???” lol

    • RT

Just don’t give them your social security number so they can’t report it to your credit!

      • Potato

Clearly the ethical thing to do here. Really you are just stooping to their level by doing that.

  36. Anna

So I went to CVS and got 4 cards with 2 accounts. Then went to albertsons and got $400 amazon GC and $200 toysrus GC and ended up with $200CVS ECB and $120 albertsons cash

I would say this is an amazing deal!!!!!!!

    • Sarah

Wow! You worked that amazingly well! Way to go!

  37. Kelly

Willimantic ct did not have any of the ones pictured. Fill in manager said “I know we had them yesterday. We must be sold out. I think there was something about it on Facebook. Maybe that’s why they’re gone.” I was in there yesterday and didn’t see any. Not sure he knew exactly what was going on. I called the Hebron ct store just 7 miles away and they had a ton…like two separate gift card stands with full racks. Did the deal twice and used the ecbs towards other ecb deals. The rest will be used Thursday.

  38. Candace

In Charleston, SC deal was in online ad, but not in the print ad. Went to my local store and they had the sticker with the deal by the gift cards. worked like a charm!

  39. sunita saha (@sunitasaha3)

has anyone tried this deal in new jersey, please share

    • Natalie

I did and it work in south jersy, no problem. They were hard to find though,, went to three stores until i found one.

  40. bhgilli@gmail.com

DOES ANY KNOW IF IT’S WORKINH IN OHIO?

    • Brittany

Did it in Ohio tonight (akron area). The lady didn’t know, but checked with manager. It was not In the printed ad, but online for the store. It printed no problem. I used the extra care bucks on all the freebies this week to get it in smaller amounts. Still haven’t gotten card activated….. Waited 40 minutes on phone and then a message came on that they were closed!

    • Melissa

Hartville said they aren’t honoring the promotion any longer…North Canton said yes, but one per customer!

      • Emily

Barberton is fine with doing limit of 2

  41. Kim

My friend and I both did this deal today once each. Ecb on line says one time limit. So is this wrong? Can we do it twice?

    • Carla

I was wondering the same thing. My weekly ad said limit one, so I just purchased one.

  42. Mayelin

is this working in nyc? anyone?

  43. kittycatmedia

So did someone say that you can go to cvs with your 50 dollar ECBs and get a TON of other ECBs with all the freebies out there this week? so I can spend my 50 and maybe even wind up getting like another 20 or 30 ecbs as well?????

    • Kim

Yes. U can spent the fifty on ECB and u get at least $30 or more ECB!

    • Dawn

Yes! I did that today. Spent the $50 and got back over $20 in ecb’s. Went next door to Safeway, spent 99.23 on groceries which included my just for you personalized deal of .49 lb turkey. I selected cash back and entered $50.27, the remaining balance on my gift card, (no fee)

  44. Mandy

I work for CVS — The way the deal works is the following: Each store can only do 4 per hour, for 4 different customers. The deal is valid for 2 per household, but you have to purchase 3 hours apart. 🙂 It was VERY frustrating in the store today regarding this..lol

    • RT

Maybe it was just at your store because some of my friends where able to buy one card, activate it and then immediately use it to buy a second card. They spent $159.90 and got $100 ECB back. Then you can use the second card a no fee AMEX giftcard of $150.00 and cancel both Paypal cards before you get charged the monthly fee. You could also go to the grocery store and buy groceries and get the rest off the card with cash back at the grocery. Basically, you’re spending $9.90 to obtain $100 ECB. Really good deal!

  45. Kim

If still working. Can u do 2 transactions together or do they need to be separate ??

  46. Dawn

You can do them together but I’m pretty sure your ecb’s will be $100, not $50 twice. Maybe a little easier to spend the $50 if you are trying for less cash oop

  47. axhilli

Just did the deal they were substituting any card so I picked an Amex Serve card I’m not sure if that was the best choice or not. I also got my extracare bucks as (2) $25 so that is way better than one $50 one. If anyone is familiar with the Serve card let me know. Also no purchase fees the card was free when I bought it at CVS.

    • debra

I have the AMEX Bluebird which is the same. No fees of any kind. Go online and read about it. I got it so I can send my son money free.

      • axhilli

Thanks I’m not familiar with Amex at all I hope the stores I shop at accept Amex.

        • debra

Walmart accepts AMEX as they are the vendor for the AMEX Bluebird card. hth

  48. javi

Got mine in Houston. I went to several stores before I found one and then spent it on the freebies got almost all of it back!

    • rensee

all the ones i went to were out or got pullled from shelves 🙁 one store said the ecb wasnt printing so they had to pull them from shelf said check back tmrw– will do

  49. MH

Am I able to use the prepaid card to buy the $100 gap gift card at CVS in order to get $25 ECBs?

  50. Marissa

Went to 3 different CVS and the cards are either sold out or they kept it. 🙁 Sad. I should have gone earlier when I first saw Collin’s post. I wasnt sure if I should go so I waited for other people’s comments first. Oh well, lesson learned.

    • axhilli

Did you ask if they were substituting because they were out at the CVS I went to in SE Wisc but they said if I loaded $150 on any card they would give me the ECB’s and they did.
