Whoops! I see it now….I guess I had not scrolled far enough 🙂

  2. Ashley

I wonder if I can use my registry completion 10% off coupon?

  3. Jennifer

Ok, so just curious…. Maybe my ignorance showing here…. What is the big deal with the Red Card? It’s a target only debit card where you MUST enter your pin. You cannot use it without a pin and you can ONLY use it at Target. PIN numbers were not released as part of the security breach, correct? So why the big scare to cancel/reissue a card where there isn’t a possibility of access…. I guess if they want to try the thousands of possible combination for a pin they could get access to the funds…..

    • Kathryn Meyer

My RedCard is a Visa and can be used anywhere. But the breach didn’t just include Target RedCards, it was ANY card used in store during the affected dates. Most debit cards can be ran as a credit card so they are at risk too.

    • K

Another poster in another thread said that’s pins were compromised.

      • Jill

This is posted on the USAA (military banking) website:

        USAA NEWS
USAA Bank Is Actively Monitoring Target Data Security Breach
        Thursday

        Should I reset my PIN?

There is no indication that any card PIN information was compromised. While you are welcome to reset your PIN at any time, it is not necessary as a result of this incident.

    • Mel

It wasn’t just the Red card – it was any credit card used at Target

  4. Stacy

Wish I had known this a few hours earlier! I just spent $70!

    • Carlene

Return the items, and then buy it back with the 10% off.

  5. mari

Wondering, does the 10% apply to online purchases??

  6. MeShell

I agree!!! Target didn’t have to do anything! And Although it sux no one gave me anything for the 9 yr headache I’ve been threw for my identity theft! I’m getting new cards & praying for the best … Moving on #TeamTarget

  7. Lynda

Target is NOT offering free credit monitoring. I just got the email. It directs ME to monitor my credit and pull free reports during the year and for ME to report any fraud.

    • Leanne

In the email that was sent out from Target it says:

“For extra assurance, we will offer free credit monitoring services for everyone impacted. We’ll be in touch with you soon on how and where to access the service.”

    • Allison

Lynda, Right… it’s your credit, why wouldn’t you be wanting to monitor it? You should be doing that anyway.

  8. Megan

As of today so far I have $50 in unauthorized transactions. What Target should have done is automatically send new cards out to all of their Red card users. I used my gap card at target and received a new card from them before this even hit the news! And for us affected by this, 10% is nothing in the scheme of things. Heck, Kohls sent $25 gift cards for shipping being delayed.

    • Erica

Kohl’s only sent that to some customers. We have made thousands of dollars in purchases at kohl’s over the past few months mostly online. We didn’t get anything.

At least this, everyone can use if they want.

      • Leanne

I got NOTHING from Kohl’s either and had a 5-6 day delay in a birthday present and called them, emailed them, NOTHING!

    • Allison

Kohls sent $25 to SOME customers for their SLOW shipping delay. Not all customers received a Gift Card. No excuse on Kohls end for taking two weeks to mail paid items to their customers. Target was hacked by rotten thieves who, regardless of the security measures taken, will find a way (and obvious did!) to steal from Target and customers.

      • Jane

I think Allison works for Target

    • danielle

I actually just received the 25 credit from Kohls this morning after issues a few weeks ago. It may still come!

  9. Leanne

This came to my email at 1:00am this morning – it appears to be their most recent update:

    Dear Target Guest,
As you have likely heard by now, Target experienced unauthorized access to payment card data from U.S. Target stores. We take this crime seriously. It was a crime against Target, our team members and most importantly you – our valued guest.
We understand that a situation like this creates stress and anxiety about the safety of your payment card data at Target. Our brand has been built on a 50-year foundation of trust with our guests, and we want to assure you that the cause of this issue has been addressed and you can shop with confidence at Target.
We want you to know a few important things:

The unauthorized access took place in U.S. Target stores between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15, 2013. Canadian stores and target.com were not affected.
Even if you shopped at Target during this time frame, it doesn’t mean you are a victim of fraud. In fact, in other similar situations, there are typically low levels of actual fraud.
There is no indication that PIN numbers have been compromised on affected bank issued PIN debit cards or Target debit cards. Someone cannot visit an ATM with a fraudulent debit card and withdraw cash.
You will not be responsible for fraudulent charges – either your bank or Target have that responsibility.
We’re working as fast as we can to get you the information you need. Our guests are always the first priority.
For extra assurance, we will offer free credit monitoring services for everyone impacted. We’ll be in touch with you soon on how and where to access the service.

Please read the full notice below. And over the coming days and weeks we will be relying on corporate.target.com and our various social channels to answer questions and keep you up to date.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and loyalty to Target!

What is the phone number to automatically cancel? How do you do it on line? I have a target debit card, and I would rather be safe than sorry. Linked right to my checking account is not good

    • mel

I called 1-866-852-8680 yesterday. It took a while to get through as I would get disconnected immediately when I pressed 1 to speak to an operator. Finally got through to the next automated menu after about 30 minutes of constant redialing.
I did not cancel my card, but reported it lost since there weren’t any unfamiliar charges since the last time I used it. I’ll get a new card in about 10 days.

  11. Erica

Just an FYI, if you are planning on going in for the 10% off, you may want to have a copy of the letter from the CEO with you. I was basically just told that I was lying about it when I went to make some purchases.

Not a great way to let customers know they matter.

    • mel

That’s terrible. I went to Target last night and they were already giving people the 10% off.

      • Tiphanie

I was there last night also and did not recieve the 10% off.

        • Brooke

They did my 10% without me knowing it. Check your receipt.

          • Erica

Yeah…I looked at the receipt and no discount showed. I’m planning on sending an email to corporate…

  12. Laura

Frankly I’m irritated. I wouldn’t know about this discount if I hadn’t seen it on hip2save. You think they would send an email with a few days notice. I’m also irritated bc all of my kids are sick so I won’t be able to get to my local target and stock up on all the things I need with an extra 10% off. I would have preferred a coupon to use at my leisure. I will also be letting Target know how I feel!

    • Des

It’s not Target’s fault your kids are sick…

      • Sara

It’s true a one time coupon for her leisure would be more convient, because now there are hundreds more people that don’t even shop at target shopping

        • Sara

A one time coupon seems like a good idea except that some people would take that too far. Making photocopies, selling them, etc. Then there would be people who complain that they lost them, or they expired before they could use them or why did she get one and I didn’t. It seems no matter what they do, it wouldn’t be enough. No weird charges showed up on my card but I cancelled it anyway. A few months ago, a couple of gas stations in town dicovered that swipers were put in their pumps. Basically anyone that used their cards at the pump had their information stolen. The news did not report which stations or what timeframe this may have happened, just a general part of town.

    • Kim

      I’m with you, Laura.

  13. Alyssa

All of the employees were aware of the 10% discount, and I had no problems using manufacturer’s coupons, a target coupon, and a cartwheel with it.

    • Amy Hoag Jahnke

Do you know what order they take the discounts off?

  14. Tiffany

I got a letter from the CEO, with no mention of this discount. It is frusterating that I wouldn’t know about this if I didn’t look at this website! My hubby is there now, and if they do the discount I will be returning the items I purchased last weekend and rebuying them with this deal. Thanks for letting me know!

    • v

Yesterday, the local news stations in my area mentioned this 10% off Target promotion.

      • v

Oops..sorry Tiffany…I didn’t intend to post my above comment as a “Reply” to you post. Intended for it to be post #66 for general info on the Target announcement sources.

    • Elizabeth

my news also ran the story. i’m in dallas. It also says that it is a one time offer so if you go to target and get the discount, you can’t go back and use it again. now maybe if you used a different card each time. don’t know how they are working the one time. i’m just going to make a list and go get things with coupons expiring at the end of the month that I can use. I’ll take an extra 10%. I don’t have a problem shopping at Target. I’ll still shop here and use my redcard. i’d much rather shop here than at a WalMart.

  15. nicole

while you’re at it text TOYSALE to target 827438 for $10 off $75 on toys 🙂

    • Amy Hoag Jahnke

      Nice! Thanks!!!!

  16. Amy Hoag Jahnke

Is the 10% in addition to the RedCard 5%? Or do you only get the 10%?

    • Amber

      15% all together with RedCard!

  17. Mike

I just got back from Target tonight. They had signs all over the place and were handing out flyers about the 10% off. Cashiers had a printout with a barcode they scanned at the register. They even had constant announcements over the load speaker about every 15 minutes about the 10% off.

  18. Megan

Not sure if anyone is still reading these comments….but has anyone that’s actually been affected gotten through to report unauthorized charges? How long does it take to get your money back?? Anyone that doesn’t have charges, you can go online and request a new card or that your card is lost or stolen. People like me would really appreciate that so that I can actually talk to someone regarding charges I didn’t make! I’m very frustrated! Not to mention that the 10% is great but I don’t get to take advantage of the 5% on top of it bc I had to get a new card. So no, this 10% is nothing for anyone actually affected. It’s a PR stunt. I just want my money back for charges I didn’t make!!
