I love that jacket! I remember when you bought it…they didn’t have my size. Ughhhh 😉

    • Kate

      **anything like it

  2. Allison

Coupon code SAVEFORTY gives an extra 40% off at the Children’s Place right now and they are still offering free shipping on every order.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks!

  3. Jennifer K.

I currently live with seven 10-year olds and three 11-year olds and it seriously smells like teen spirit in this place before shower time each night. Our two 13-year olds are actually the best smelling of the crew! All our guys use deoderant every day and some of them use Axe body spray. And mouth wash – lots of mouth wash.

    • pamela maciejewski

OMG I seriously hope you have a lot of headache medicine in your house with that many kids – I have 3 kids that are 12 and 1 that is 14 and I thought that was hard I couldn’t imagine having as many as you do

  4. picchu

Collin, as always awesome tips and thanks for the video!!! And on your final question, my nephew who turned 10 this month wanted AXE deodorant for christmas!!! So I guess this is the new normal!! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Oh WOW! LOL! 🙂

  5. Patvh

Perfectly normal for 12 year old boys! Sprays are faster and “cooler” which means they will use them but the anti perspirants will actually keep the odor down in the first place.
    Great video, thanks.

  6. Carol

Collin. You are just the cutest. Love to watch your videos and love your site!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awww… thanks! 🙂

  7. 78Brownie

We appreciate your videos, Collin. That Culturelle is the best and the deal is awesome! I went to Target and forgot to check the clearance. Sucks being me smh

  8. Guest

You should make a video of your stockpile!

  9. April

I have done the one piece jammies before…not really a fan because you have to all but remove them to go to the bathroom. I’m gonna go look at them to see if I can cut and re-sew them and make a two piece. For the boy BO we do daily showers, two if need be. We like Burt’s Bees peppermint body wash and a regular deodorant/antiperspirant. Deodorant covers the smell but does not eliminate it. Antiperspirants stops the sweating. Body sprays are banned at our schools due to allergies.

    • Alea

I am hearing of more and more schools that ban body sprays and a few that have even banned all AXE products – we don’t use it here, but I guess it can be really overwhelming for those who have asthma, allergies, etc.

On a sidenote – 11/12 seems to be normal for most kids to start puberty.

  10. Miranda

Love your videos!! I have a 12-year old son and yes he uses deodorant and spray everyday..he likes to use it.. My 10-year old son even has deodorant and spray for when he wants to use it..

  11. cindy

I was told at Walgreen in Massachusetts you cannot use coupons on clearance items like the axe deal .

    • steph

Bull squirt ! :). Unless the coupon itself says so!

      • Guest

        Bull what?!! Lol

  12. Linda

Yes puberty is when it would be normal to smell. But please don’t get your son body spray. Teenage boys especially will use that in place of washing and deodorant. Tell him the girls appreciate it when he is freshly scrubbed from the shower with deodorant.

    • Holly

12 is perfectly normal for boys to start with BO – a lot start even sooner. Sweaty hair anyone? Enough to make even a mother gag. So true Linda. I was going to comment on the other responses about body spray, but BO plus body spray is unreal! Good ole soap and shampoo are a must. If he doesn’t have a problem with it, a deodorant soap in the shower can really help. Keep your nose alert for foot odor too. My son’s got so bad as a teenager that he had to get a prescription for it – can’t remember if it was a spray or lotion or what – anyway, that is very common for teenagers. We had to leave his shoes outside after spraying them with lysol every afternoon when he came home!

    • Stacie

awesome!! I wonder why Collin didn’t post this???

  13. Sarah

If he smells, slap some deodorant on that kiddo!!!! Haha.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      😉

  14. Kathleen

    Hey Collin,

Yes it is normal for a 12 year old too start needing to wear deodorant. My son was 12 in middle school & I remember one day just noticing him not smelling so good. I told him he needed deodorant & he was actually excited about it. I let him pick it out & he wanted AXE deodorant & the body spray. Apparently all the other boys like wearing the body spray & they like to bring it to school especially when they have gym. 🙂

  15. Rachael

Great video! I have a 13 and 11 yr old boys. My 13yr old didn’t really need deodorant until he was almost 13, but my 11yr old needs it now! 🙂 Same with my girls, they started needing deo at different ages. Watch out for antiperspirant – although all the ladies in my house use anti-p my sons and husband both prefer the strictly deo, saying the anti-p irritates their skin. Also… many love it, but Axe’s scent is strong, and did not go over well in my house. 🙂 Teenagers – a wild ride, but very fun!!

  16. Mary

your son is not going to be happy you shared that information online! Lol!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

LOL! Surprisingly I showed him this video and he thought it was funny! He told me that I’m a total dork. 😉

  17. samantha g.

Absolutely LOVE this video, Collin! You are HILARIOUS! You remind me of how my friend and I used to act when we were younger! SO MUCH FUN! Thanks for all the helpful match ups and info! Question, so on the Walgreens B1G1 50% sales, do they apply to clearance items as well? That’s what I thought I heard you mention in your video on the clearance Axe body sprays! Also, my son is 10 and he wears his dad’s Old Spice deodorant and body spray! SO happy for those products as my boys sure need them! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Yep – both the Axe and Right Guard clearance products rang up at the sale prices too – such a fantastic deal! 😀

      • samantha g.

AWESOME! As always, thanks for the info/heads up! 🙂

  18. Shannon

You’re lucky it didn’t occur before 12! I have a 7 year old (whose a girl!) and she needs to use deodorant if she goes more than a day without a shower.

  19. Jackie

Thanks as always for your AWESOME videos! Good to know about Dawn Renewal at Walgreens! I’ve been wanting to try it hands are extremely dry after washing dishes.

  20. Joanna

My boys are 13 and 15 so I know all to well the smells that could come from boys 😉 haha. My boys liked Axe because it was the cool thing to wear but when my oldest started to really begin to sweat he said that Axe doesn’t work for him. He still likes their body sprays for cologne.

Just watch out, girls are truly attracted to Axe 😉 they think the boys are so cool and mature cause they wear cologne **eye roll**

  21. Marisa

You are such a doll and such a joy to watch. It always makes me excited to go out and save money while I’m shopping for my family.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are sweet. Thanks for the kind words.

  22. valerie

colin I as well have a 12 y/o boy and yes they do start having bo at that age.. my son uses the ax deodorant. but at his school ( which is a Christian school they are not allowed to wear body sprays. which I find odd.. but what can you say… good luck with the “boy” and I love your site.. get so much out of it..

  23. Eunice

Collin looks so nice and have a very pleasant personality. I was smiling the whole time watching her video 🙂

  24. Nikki

My 12 year old son started shaving a few months ago! AAAHHHH!!! He thought it was cool but I am not ready for this!

  25. Melissa

I teach fourth grade and they REEK if they don’t have D.O. on! Some of my kiddos are even obsessed with cologne! It’s craziness.

  26. Misty Nicole Overstreet

My husband is a middle school teacher, and he has said that in some of his classes, the boys smell “ripe.” I started sending him to school with a basket of freebie travel size axe products from CVS. I would say it is normal, for boys. Just another reason I am so thankful to be on team lady!

  27. DianA

    I cant hear the vid?

  28. Steva Maynor

Mom of 2 boys…15 & 12..yes ma’am it’s perfectly normal!!..& hey it’s better to hear it from your mom than a kiddo @ school sniffing around for the funky smell in class🙊…just my kiddos preference but they like the solid deos..the clear gels are too sticky to them!!😏

  29. T

My son is 12 and has been using deodorant and body spray for almost two years! At first it was difficult to get him to remember but after a few embarrassing (smelly) situations he uses it daily!!

  30. Jessica

Yes, at 10 my son loved the Axe Body Spray!! The whole house would smell like it when he got done, lol. 🙂

  31. Amy

Totally normal for tweens and teens to stink! Coupon him up a variety! 🙂

  32. Summer

Collin, my son is also 12 years old and he has been using deodorant for almost 2 years. He love the gel version of the Right Gurad Deodorant (just like the ones you bought) and he loved the Axe Body Spray. He always smells so good after a shower when he puts the spray on. Hope that helps and thanks for all you do.

  33. pamela maciejewski

I use the trial size deodorants for my teenagers when they first started using deo cause they didn’t know how to roll it up without getting it stuck in the lid or the stick would fall out of the tube – talk about a waste of money – so I gave them the trial size ones till they got used to it cause I get the trial size ones in the mail free from samples most of the time or free with coupons so no money wasted in the process of learning

  34. Mel

You are awesome! I love your shopping trips! They’re so helpful, encouraging, and entertaining! Thank you for the effort and time it takes to do these videos!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are most welcome!! 🙂

  35. Ally

Love the video!! Im starting to coupon and i really dont know what im doing most of the time but these videos help a ton!!:))

  36. Ben Salkin

Hey Collin! I need a question answered. I tried to use the pringles 50 cents off one coupons and Walgreens would NOT accept them because even though it says “Manufacturer Coupon” it also says “Available at Walmart” and Walgreens said they would NOT be reimbursed for it. I talked to Walgreens Customer Service and a store manager also! Does this sound right to you?

  37. Karen

I love it when you tell me what to buy at Walgreens! Seriously, I am not a Walgreens shopper but I do go when they have great deals. I just don’t like to deal w/ the new rewards system and filler items so thank you so much for spelling out the deals for me. Also, my oldest is 16 and has been using body spray and deodorant since about 9. That Axe is pretty strong, you will definitely know when he uses it because the whole house will smell of it!!

  38. Carla

As a 6th grade middle school teacher, YES! Boys (and girls) definitely smell at this age! I OFTEN remind them all that they should be wearing deodorant every day (especially after gym class)!

  39. Shebella

Totally normal as lomg as you make sure he bathes daily. Limited the time in the shower though my son is taking 45 minutes showers. He loves to smell fresh.

  40. lynn

I am a mom of several boys and yes they do smell. Though mine seem to need GasX as much as deodorant! LOL

    • amy

      Hahaha…I love it!

  41. jenny bosse

    collin,

my husband is a manger at walmart and he runs around and sweats really , really bad. Right Guard deodorant is the only one that will last throughout the day for him; he also takes a axe spray to keep in his locker:)

  42. Angela

Love watching your videos Collin. They are always so upbeat and they make me smile!

  43. lizzy lou

Hello! I am new to this site and I love love love it!! Colin, you are too cute and very helpful!! I will definitely be checking out some of these deals! Btw…my oldest son is almost 8 and he’s been wearing deodorant for almost 2 years!

  44. Amanda

I recently had to introduce deodorant to my 10 year old. All I did was put it with his bathroom stuff and told him to start putting it on in the mornings. He forgets sometimes but he now “realizes” when he forgets it!

  45. Janice

    Hi Collin,
I have 5 sons – all teenagers or older. Twelve is perfectly normal to start having body odor…. I have also noticed that there rooms start getting a testosterone type of smell as well 🙂
Thank you for the fun and helpful video! I always enjoy them and the items you buy always stick in my head 🙂

  46. Valkyriie CouponValhalla

COLLIN, I HAVE THE BEST TIP FOR YOU: I have a spray bottle with hydrogen peroxide in it. I spray under my arms let it sit for one minute then shower. My pharmacist friend recommended it to me. It is the cheapest most effective deodorant. After drying from my shower, I will use powder on my under arms too.

  47. Joanne

Can someone help me with a question please? I took two coupons to Walgreens tonight – the first was 50 cents off two twix bars; the second was buy two twix bars get one free. They would not let me use both coupons and I can’t figure out why. It turned into a big deal with a long line. I ended up embarrassed. I can’t understand why I can’t use both coupons, I bought three bars, and they are getting reimbursed for both coupons. Could someone explain this to me?

    • kasi

      Joanne,

That is double stacking. You would have to buy 2 and use the 0.50 off. Then, buy 3 more to use the buy 2 get one free coupon. So, a total of 5 bars to use what you wanted.

      • Joanne

Thanks, Kasi! Now I’m embarrassed that I made such a fuss!

        • kasi

You are welcome. We have all been guilty of it at one time or another while learning! Don’t feel too bad!

  48. Theresa

Just remember to show your son how to use it under their arms. My nephew used it all over his upper body. We could hardly stand to be next to him. He had to take a shower and reapply under the armpits only.

  49. Crystal

Collin, Just a bit of medical info. When the adam’s apple of a boys starts to grow so do the testicles. They should check the testicles monthly just like a girl should check her breast. Body hair starts to show up along w body smell. 12 years is OK for the body to start to change. And yes they should use deoderant. Good luck, your world is going to change.
