    Saying 75.99 over here. 🙁

    • Chelsea

nevermind, silly me.. was for the girl version i guess.

  2. Rachel

This is a seat on my Amazon wish list only because of how cheap it is. I’d like to hear from some Mom’s/Dad’s that have actually used it. It seems like a great backup seat for a second vehicle!

    • vicki

It is a widely recommended car seat by parents and techs. its easy to install and use properly. it isnt super tall so it almost surely will be outgrown before the child is ready for a booster seat. The shoulder harness has to be above the child’s shoulders for forward facing and the highest strap height is only 14.75 inches high so depending on torso height, your child may be okay but its commonly outgrown around 2.5-3 yrs old.
With that said, it is a great price on a nice seat so as long as you realize you’ll likely need another seat before a booster, this could be ideal.
another good option, that lasts longer by weight and height is the Evenflo Sureride(can get at Kohls.com for around $60-70 with a 30% code plus Kohls cash. ooh, or the Safety First guide65…that’s another long lasting inexpensive seat.

      hope this helps.

      • Ashley

Yeah, I wouldn’t buy this seat with the low harness height. I second the Evenflo sureride for much longer lasting.

    • Erica

I would highly suggest looking at the Evenflo SecureKid. We just bought one at Kohl’s and after the 30% coupon and Kohl’s cash, it cost us about $60 (including tax). It has a higher weight limit (65lbs) and a higher hight limit because the harness height is taller. For now, we are using it rear facing for my almost one year old but once my 2 year old gets too tall for our True Fit Premier, we will probably move him into it.

After doing a TON of research, I think this seat will fit my very large 2 year old (36lbs and 37″ tall) until he is 5 or 6 just based on the growth chart.

I wasn’t expecting much but it is really nicely padded and extremely light weight (only 10 pounds) so it will be great for travel too. Honestly, it is making me wish we hadn’t spent the $250 on our nicer seat and that we just had two of the SecureKid.

Erica, I am glad that I am not the only one with a large toddler….my 2yr old is 39lbs and 39 inches tall! He is built like a linebacker! That was when he was 26 months! Finding a car seat for ones like we have is hard!

        • Erica

haha yeah! Mine always takes people by surprise when I tell them that he is only 2. His weight is also shocking because he doesn’t look that heavy.

        • paula

Erica and Britt, I feel for you and just wanted to let you know to prepare yourself, lol. My son was 9 pounds 11 ounces at birth and did not slow down like they kept saying. He is now 6 and 102 pounds at a little over 4 foot. He wears a boys size 10/12 and a boys size 6 shoe, next size up is mens! I have had a HARD time since he was born finding him clothes that fit right and car seats have even been a struggle because of his size. It is not easy having BIG boys, lol.

      • Erica

OOPS! I meant the SureRide haha we were going back and forth between the SecureKid and the SureRide and ended up with the SureRide because it has the taller harness and cost less (and can be used rear facing if necessary)

        • vicki

oh, good…i just saw your post and was scrambling to the bottom to reply about the SecureKid beign a forward ONLY seat! 🙂

  3. Bethany

I think this same carseat (in the girl version) is only $46.93 at walmart.com regular price. It does seem to have pretty good reviews though.

  4. oksana

Collin, Amazon seems to be sneaky. Always have to compare prices! Same exact carseat is only $46.93 at Walmart, just without the cup holder..

    • Bridget

I’ve noticed that too lately! They’ll say something was once like 70% more but it never was!

  5. Alex

I have this exact car seat and paid no more than $55 at the store

  6. Rei

Can anyone recommend a good carseat for a 5 year old? She is 38 lbs…thanks!

    • Bekah

Look into Diono. Not cheap, but uses the 5 point harness (that’s important to me) and the car seats last a long time and easily fit into vehicles. My kids love theirs! Worth the $ to me.

    • babs7881

we recently switched our 4 year old to a booster since her convertible was about to expire. we got the Baby Trend Hybrid 3-in-1 Booster Car Seat from BRU. I like that the 5-point harness can be used up to 50 pounds. It took some muscle to put together, but my daughter loves it. I got one for my car, because my daughter insisted on the bright blue, that walmart carries, but it is the same price at BRU. We bought two additional for other cars. BRU is having a trade in event, so we traded in her old car seats for the additional ones that we needed. HTH.

    • Ashley

Depending on your budget I would look at a Graco nautilus about $120. If she is tall, then I would look at Britax Frontier 90 which has the highest harness slots.

    • Cquinn

2nd the diono carseat. We have one for each of my daughters. Worth the extra money. Can get it for a Decent deal at kohls on sale with 30% off.

      • Rei

Thank you for all the recommendations….I’m going to check them all out! My hubby doesn’t think my daughter needs a 5 point harness but I would feel more comfortable with her in one.

        • Tilla Ham

I kept my daughters in a five point harness until they were 7 or 8 depending on their weight. it is a huge safety difference, and I feel much better with them in it than flopping around in their seat belted boosters

        • Cara

Diono for sure — they can be rear-facing for much longer than other seats( we didn’t turn my daughter until she was 3.5) and the weight limit for forward facing is the highest out there. Five point harness is a must. Boosters should honestly never be used — so so unsafe.

          • vicki

I’m a bit of a car seat nerd (and a regular over at the wealth of car seat info at car-seat.org (check it out for info and q& a with car seat techs not just safety freaks like me:))
but I’d just like to comment that boosters are not unsafe. They are very safe when they fit properly and when used correctly by both the parent and the child.

(also, your info about the weight limit for forward facing is not completely accurate any more. many seats are great alternatives to the Diono seats(I love my Radian but there are other seats that fit the same needs in most cases))

  7. serena

I’m interested in knowing of a good carseat for a two year old + that has a tall torso. Or even a convertible that goes from 6 months until booster stage.

    • Erica

I just posted above about the seat we just got but you should check out the Evenflo SecureKid. I love it!!!

      • Erica

Whoops! I meant the SureRide. We had gone back and forth between the SureRide (the convertible) and the SecureKid (the harnessed booster) and ended up with the SureRide. (mama brain got the best of me haha)

    • Britt

Graco Nautalus 3 in 1….about $135 but it is 5 pt harness until 65 lbs and then booster until 100 lbs….plus it fits a tall torso. My son love his!

    • Ashley

If you’re looking for a convertible seat that is longest lasting I would look at the Evenflo sureride. It will get you to booster age. If you’re looking for a seat that converts from a 5 pt to a booster then for a tall kid I would look at the Britax Frontier 90. It has the highest harness slots. It is a bit pricey though.

    • serena

      Thank you!

      • angela

We got a Britax Convertible that goes from 0-70lbs. Got it for our daughter when she outgrew the infant carseat at a year old. Used it rear facing for a year and now have used it forward facing for 2 years. Our daughter is off the charts in height and Britax has worked well. It is pricey but we used credit card reward points to get it on Amazon.

Hi, i am looking for good convertible car seat for my 10 months old,he is tall and not quite comfortable with the normal car seat.. is this evenflo good to buy???? pls suggest

    • vicki

depends onyour budget and even on the vehicle. do you have other seats that it needs to fit next to?
if your lil guy is tall, I’d not bother with this evenflo Tribute. the Evenflo Sureride is a great option under $100.
I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say “normal car seat” ? do you mean a forward facing one? legally he must stay rfing til 1yr old. the APP now recommends a minimum of 2 for rearfacing or to the limits of your seat. many seats are made to rearface til 40 & 45 lbs or until the child’s head is within an inch of the top of the seat’s shell. rearfacing is something like 500 times safer so why not?

or maybe “normal seat” was referring to his infant seat? that would make sense too even the higher weight infant seats can be outgrown early by tall children (again, the 1″ of shell above their heads is the rule) or just plain not fit well.

withthat said, and without details, I often see the SureRide, the Diono Radian, the Graco MySize(also called Size4Me), and the safety 1st Guide 65 recommended cause they have high harness slots so are most likely to get a child to a point where they’re ready for a booster. pm me if you have more questions. vboos at hotmaildot com or check out the info at car-seat.org.

      hope this helps.

  9. Lmason

The Dionos are amazing! I’ve had my newborn in one, and my two year old in another. They fit them all! Great, sturdy Carseat and worth any extra $$.

    • Cara

Totally agree! Literally the only seat you’ll ever need and last 10 years unlike other seats.
My just turned one year old has been in one since 4 months old and my 5.5 year old has been in hers since 8 months and will be for years to come.

      • Lmason

And honestly, they’re really not that pricey considering!

      • babs7881

You may want to check the expiration dates on your carseats. Most seats are good for 5 years from manufacture date.

  10. Joanie

Any recommendations for a booster seat that’s not super expensive? Daughter is almost 50 pounds now so we have to transition soon. Thanks in advance.

    • Erica

Not sure what your budget is and how old your daughter is but the Evenflo SecureKid is maybe $125 and allows harness use to 65 pounds and then can be used as a high back booster until 110 pounds I believe.

      • Joanie

Thank you! I will check into that one.

    • vicki

are you going to continue harnessing her forward facing? (ie: do you want a 3-in-1 harness, high back booster, low back booster) or just a booster?
if you wnt the harnessing option, the Graco Nautilus is another similarly priced option tothe SecureKid.
if your child is sitting properly all of the time and ready for just the car’s seatbelt, the Graco turbobooster and the evenflo amp are great options. kohls.com with a 30%code usually gets you awesome deals too.
      hope that helps.

      • Joanie

Thank you! I will check them out.

        • nin

Cosco High Back Booster. Goes from 22lbs to 80 and priced at $50 regular at Walmart and they go sale for $35 at Kmart. We have have these and the Sunshine Radian. The Radian is of course nicer, but for the price of the Cosco they are great for DH’s car and they have worked really well for us.

  11. Adri mom

Anyone know of any deals on the graco nautilus?

  12. kim

This same carseat (Evenflo Tribute Gunther) is on sale at Target.com for $35.19. And get 5% off and free shipping with RedCard.
