If you are looking for a creative Baby Shower Gift Basket idea, check out this email that I received from reader, Annie…

I buy stuff that I KNOW I USED or NEEDED for the first 3 months of my baby. And I gift all of the little stuff that they have on their Baby Registry and that I buy from my own experience…Here’s little of what I usually gift (about 15-20 items) – Nursing pads, Desitin, pacifier & pacifier clip, on the go baby wipes case, diaper garbage bags ($1 @ Dollar Tree), crib mattress pad protection, teething oral gel ring, one bottle and bottle brush. Pack it nicely in a basket, tie a ribbon and you have a nice gift basket for around $20-$30 after coupons!

Not sure when the nuk coupon expires but hold onto it if a Target is near by I saw some really cute Easter ones in the Easter section. Not sure what the price was but will be a good deal when they go 1/2 off or even if some are left when they go 90% =)

The last baby shower gift I gave was a big box of swaddlers 2/3 and I huge box of wipes. Its been my go to for a while. They will need them and I know my gift will be used and save them money.

I do the same, I get the huge boxes at Sam’s Club. Or I buy off the registry list. I know we got a few baskets with a lot of little items in them at our baby shower and half of it we didn’t use. I think it’s a cute idea but we didn’t use nursing pads, pacifiers, pacifier clips, teething gel, ect…

I also like to include things like baby gas drops, baby tylenol, baby vicks and those little things that you always need and never want to run out of in the middle of the night!

I like that gift for me 🙂 although I do have some friends that use cloth after meconium and are against using wipes, but you can usually see that these people will have cloth diapers on their registry. In general I don’t think you can go wrong with swaddlers and wipes (I actually only use plain water and then sensitive wipes on my kiddos when they are younger, but wipes are useful for things other than changing diapers as well).

I love to do a new mommy basket. I use a utility tote, found at Michael’s on sale, (or you can also use those cheap purse organizers from Amazon) and I fill it with wisps, dry shampoo, Starbuck’s giftcard, lotion, and other trial size goodies I get for free here and there. I know they usually get tons of baby stuff, but what about mommy?! I would have loved one when I had my first.

My Wal-Mart has a slew of Nuk pacifiers in the clearance section for $3, along with a lot of other baby items.
