WooHoo! 🙂 Here’s another *HOT* freebie you may be able to score! Just hurry on over to CVS.com and add a Clif Chocolate Chip Peanut Crunch Energy Bar  out of stock OR a Clif Crunchy Peanut Butter Energy Bar priced at $1.87 to your cart.

After adding one of the bars to your cart and heading to checkout (just checkout as a Guest if you’re not a CVS shopper), you should receive a discount valid for $2 off any Vitamin Purchase (I guess this discount is coming off since Clif bars are listed under the ‘Energy’ section of vitamins on the CVS site). This makes for a completely FREE bar and you’ll also score FREE Shipping – no credit card information required! Sweet!

  3. K

I put in my order as soon as you posted it, but now I just got an email from CVS saying that they cancelled my order. I guess they got too many free orders!

” (Order cancelled). After spending nearly two hours trying to get the order submitted and finally getting to the screen with the actual order #, (by that time they were out of stock for chocolate PB but did have PB) I don’t see how they could do this to everyone(?) After all, these were legitimate responses to participate in the offers that they made ($2 off & free shipping).

same thing happened to me! my order was cancelled too.

    • RB

They wrote back and issued an appeasement credit on a future order (which is tied to the original order # and must be processed manually, which means the customer must call in to place the order. I figured after all the time already spent on Saturday I might as well. However, when I called it to cvs.com, I learned that I must become registered for a cvs.com account if not already registered (no ordering as guest), and the $0 order would not go through without me first providing my credit card info. Then after all that the order -still- would not go through without an amount to charge. After half an hour ended up having to be first charged the full amount and promised I was subsequently being issued a refund.

I don’t understand what u mean about reordering. When i look to reorder, everything costs for shipping and it is over $5 just to ship unless you place a large order like >$49.

        • RB

(Due to the customer service notation concerning the order cancellation, the rep. entered my new order also with free shipping.)

          • Cass

RB thanks so much for your reply. I had wrote back to them right away too and gotten an email for a credit as well. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with them today and over an hour last night and now they are trying to tell me I have to pay the shipping ($5.49) if I use the $5 they gave me OR I have to spend $25 or more to get free shipping. I am starting to get a bit crabby with CVS. Especially after talking with a woman last night on the phone that would give me free shipping but told me I had to spend at least $5, now today they won’t ship free unless I spend $25. What a joke! How many hours have I spent on this now to get the run around (every time I call in they make me resend to CustomerCare the email that they had sent to me since it was a personal (not mass) email sent and they can only see the mass emails sent). Urgh. Thanks again.

To Cass: The rep on the phone was very apologetic about all the time it was taking for him to help me. He specifically assured me that the following day I would get an e-mail from CVS RE: the credit, however that didn’t happen. Even though I got a message that the order was shipped today, when I just checked my credit card I see that the charge itself is still listed by Visa as pending (but no corresponding pending credit of any kind), so I’m hoping it’s not going to end up requiring additional followup. The CVS rep did process the credit immediately after placing the order (right away, while I remained on the phone to make sure there were no hitches). Consequently, I hope it is merely taking longer for the credit to come through; I have heard in general that credits typically take longer than charges to post.

By the way, my fiance’s order wasn’t canceled until days later, and this is what they have to say to him concerning the waste of time, malfunctioning web site, and us calling them out on the consolation prize “deal” to spend $30/$25 instead (their email lists conflicting info. in the fine print): “We deeply regret that you were dissatisfied with our web site and that you felt that it did not meet your needs or expectations. At CVS, we are always interested in hearing about how we can serve you better, and your feedback is an important part of our ongoing efforts to improve our site. We have forwarded your comments to the appropriate personnel for consideration.”
Hmmm…deep regret about the so-called “expectation” that they would actually follow through on what they promised(?) I think their actions and subsequent handling of the upset folks who flocked to their website in response to their advertised offers are inexcusable. If they can’t handle the demands, they could always have backordered these items and shipped when available. They have not offered to do so, presumably because they would rather reneg on the offer itself than lose money by honoring the offer.

Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience with CVS. I agree, it has made me have a negative feeling toward the company which is unfortunate for them. If they were not going to fulfill the shipments, they should have limited the number that went through or like you mentioned put them on backorder. I imagine there are a lot of frustrated people over how they have handled this. Best of luck to you and your fiance with the CVS ordeal. It sounds like you may at least get your order to go through. They’ve been really wishy-washy with me.

            • RB

Cass- Did they ever end up taking care of you? (My charge is still pending on the credit card, and no credit appears yet, but I’m waiting to call them back at least until I receive my order.)

            • cass

RB, hopefully they take care of yours. I sent them an email days ago which they failed to reply to. Each person on the phone was like starting the whole pain in the neck process over. Each person hd a different taking on the offer I was emailed and what to do with shipping. So no resolution. What a poorly handled offer.

My vitamin order was canceled as well but haven’t received anything saying this one was canceled, the compensation they offered on my canceled vitamin order isn’t worth placing a new order. I received $5 off of $30 order placed in the next 4 days plus free shipping.

5 orders total went into CVS, (at the time each one said error). But, today I received 3 emails saying my order(s) was cancelled.

  9. Phillip

My order has been shipped. I added a powerbar to the clifbar along with a 25% off code making the total $0.14. This small charge must have allowed it to go through. UPS tracking has it arriving on Thursday.

  10. Martina Osley

    Doesn’t work at all 🙁

  11. Jane

    My order just got canceled.

  12. S

My orders got cancel as well!!!

  13. Kickstart

Follow up to my previous comment: 5 orders total went into CVS, (at the time each one said error). But, today I received 3 emails saying my order(s) was cancelled. I just received 2 more emails, so they cancelled ALL of my orders.

  14. Tarri

Canceled here. I don’t recall them even offering me anything in the email.

  15. ms. c

I wonder if they even fulfilled any orders.Doesn’t reflect very well on them. They definitely have lost some credibility from me. They sh have limited the number that could be processed if they were just going to do this. Seems like a grand scam.

  16. TH

    Canceled my order!
