If you love trying out new beauty products or just want to treat yourself to a fun surprise every month, you may want to check out Birchbox (if you haven’t already). For only $10 a month, Birchbox delivers 4 to 5 hand-picked, deluxe beauty samples from high-end brands. Each month you’ll receive a different mix of beauty products, including makeup, skin care, fragrance, body, and hair products. All samples are generously sized, with enough product to allow you to figure out if they’re right for you.

And Birchbox does customize the boxes (that’s why you fill out your Beauty Profile). Some samples are sent to everyone, other samples are chosen specifically for your skin, beauty needs, and style. Keep in mind that all you pay is your $10 monthly subscription fee; there are no shipping or handling fees for the monthly Birchbox and you can cancel at anytime. So you really are under NO obligation.

They also now offer a Men’s Subscription for $20 a month…

AND when you sign up for a monthly subscription – either the Women’s Subscription for $10 OR the Men’s Subscription for $20, you can use the following promo codes to make for a really sweet deal! Check it out…

Through March 23rd, head here where they are offering up 100 FREE points (which is equal to $10 to spend in their store) when you order a Birchbox subscription AND use the promo code BB100 (for the Women’s box) or promo code BBM100 (for the Men’s box) at checkout! Once you have signed up for your subscription, you’ll get your points right away to spend in their Birchbox Shop.

Need an idea on how to spend your FREE $10 credit? πŸ™‚

After browsing around, I noticed that lots of items have a yellow “Ships Free” box underneath them (as pictured above).  After clicking on a few participating items, it appears that most of these products (advertised with the “Ships Free” box) either ship FREE on orders of $10+ OR when you purchasing at least 2 items. To find these items, go here to browse around and/or look for participating items in the $25 and under section.

As a deal ideal, you could purchase this Illume Mini Glass Candle (ships FREE with 1 more additional item) for $7 and this LA Fresh Travel Lite antiperspirant Wipes for Women which is $2.49 for FREE + FREE shipping (after the $10 credit)!

OR you could grab this Sasquatch Bar Soap for only $6 (ships FREE with an order of $10 or more) and this Lucky Tiger Natural Peppermint Lip Balm which is also $6, so ONLY $2 shipped for both (after the $10 credit).

* Keep in mind that the Birchbox Points program also rewards you for signing up for the monthly samples, shopping on Birchbox.com, referring friends to the program, and sending feedback on your samples.

Are you signed up for Birchbox? If so, I’d love to hear your feedback!

Not hearing very great reviews about birchbox but
I have heard great things about Ipsy and thought i would share my link for referrals. My Aunt raves about it so my cousin, mom and myself all signed up. Can’t wait to get my monthly glam bag!!
Join me on ipsy and subscribe to the Glam Bag! You get 4-5 beauty products every month delivered to your door, for just $10. Michelle Phan curates the bags! Check it out here: https://www.ipsy.com/r/95i7

Their boxes have been very disappointing the last few months. I just canceled mine after I received March’s box. Ipsy is also $10 a month and I have yet to be disappointed. Here’s a link if anyone is interested in trying ipsy :). https://www.ipsy.com/r/25j5

    • Laura

Marissa, I can’t wait to try Ipsy! Very interested in that!

      • Marissa

Laura, it’s nice getting a little surprise/gift to yourself every month :).

    • CW

      I totally agree Marissa!

    • Stacey

i signed up under your link, thanks for sharing, i’ve been looking for something like them! πŸ™‚

      • Marissa

Thank you Stacey πŸ™‚ I appreciate it. I really think you’ll like it. It’s definitely worth the money and it comes in a different makeup bag every month. So awesome!

    • Hiro

      I love ipsy!

    • Jenny

I absolutely loved all the Birchboxes this year! So glad I chose this one. Just got this months box a few days ago. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Hair frizz serum, a generous size face lotion, lip and skin balm, sunscreen, a few bags of yummy teas, and a Ghirardelli chocolate. I know I’m forgetting something else though. Great boxes!

  3. CW

I tried this for a few months and I was not impressed. Mostly shipped items I can’t use (like perfume- allergic) and I called them to see if I could opt out of perfume. They said no, they don’t customize boxes in that way. Most of the other stuff I got was free by ordering from other companies… It really wasn’t worth the $10 a month. It was mostly junk or free elsewhere and I ended up donating it.

  4. Alice

What brand do they have ?

    • CW

Alice in all the time I subscribed I only got one recognizable brand – stila. I’m not brand loyal but I got a lot of junk. I even tried giving items to friends, they didn’t want them. I donated most of it to a homeless shelter hoping some homeless teenager wanted stick on checkered black and pink nails…

  5. karin

I agree with the previous posters. I tried it for 6 months and was mostly disappointed with the items I received so cancelled. IMO it wasn’t even worth $10/month.

  6. Vanessa

I have ipsy… So far not impressed with it. I’ve been thinking about glossybox. My cousin is a huge fan of it.

  7. angela f

i was a subscriber as well, quality went way down past few months and I cancelled. Very underwhelming. Yes, it’s only $10 but 90% of the items were cheap, poor quality, half empty or colors that a teen would wear.

  8. Harlow

i was ready to do it and everything but it has to send me “the invite” first,. shame that I cant give them my money πŸ™

  9. rob

once you sign up can you opt out after the free box?

    • Christine

The first box is not fre

  10. Nicole

I just cancelled after a few months as well / they did not cater my boxes toward my profile I filled out at all. Lots of nail polish, perfumes and lotions.

  11. Barb

i am not a big fan of birchbox. it is okay but i like ipsy better. here is my link. tia. https://www.ipsy.com/r/17vh

I signed up with your link Barb! πŸ™‚

I recommend pet flow for ur dogs n cats. Lots of penny items come up. Right now theres led lights, Xmas toy, dog treat pizzles, cat treats….all for a penny! You have to spend 17 but you’ll get $5 credit for signing up. https://fbuy.me/vu_j

  13. Shannon

I highly recommend ipsy if you are looking for surprise 4-5 full size makeup products a month. Birchbox has more high end samples, but they are usually very small. The points system makes the box about $5 a month and $5 credit for the shop though, so that makes it worth it. My ipsy link is https://www.ipsy.com/r/3rdd
And my birchbox link is https://www.birchbox.com/invite/9hqz6 It would be awesome if someone used my link!

  14. Trina

I used to love birchbox, I cancelled for awhile after the boxes got increasingly disappointing. I gave it another shot and the samples are getting smaller and I’m getting less of them. Last month I received a shattered bottle in mine that had not been wrapped up in any way to protect it. I had to carefully pull minuscule bits of glass off of my fingers to avoid cuts and the replacement box they sent me was packaged the exact same way! I haven’t received a full sized product in forever. I really enjoy Ipsy, I’ve been really happy with Them for well over a year.

  15. Christina

As people have said, if you love makeup Ipsy is perfect. Have had it for 3 months and love the surprise of it, the wonderful useful makeup bags the goodies come in, and the amaaaazing samples (and surprisingly many full-size) products we get. Please use my link if you’d like to sign up =)

These posts are so funny; I have the exact opposite experience as most people here. I had Birchbox and it was fine – actually, the samples are all high-end. Then I tried Ipsy and absolutely HATE it: not a single color of anything I would ever wear ever, a bunch of junk, waste of money on cheap beauty bags, and age-inappropriate items that I wouldn’t ever give even to my young nieces. Ipsy made me ling for Birchbox back!

  17. sarah

If I add stuff to my favorites does that increase my chances of getting those items?? Do they send those or just “samples” of the items?

  18. kay

I love my birchbox. They have awesome promo codes for their shop (which you can order from even if you don’t get a box)-I don’t find other sites where I get 20% off brands like Benefit. I don’t love every sample but I get some fun stuff, and the points you get for reviews are awesome! https://www.birchbox.com/invite/r69m5

  19. Lynn

I, too, am I fan of birchbox! Not every month is great but I gain points to order something I loved….and get to try out new items. Super!

  20. Ashley

I get a lot of subscription boxes I get popsugar must have! It is amazing it is a bit more pricey but I never had a bad box. Here is my code if anyone wants to use it

    https://popsu.gr/qMTt

I also get birchbox and ipsy and I haven’t even impressed

  21. Jennifer

i hate birchbox …. i had to cancel because the boxes were very disappointing

  22. Melanie

I have Birchbox and Ipsy and love them both. In Ipsy, I tend to get more makeup items and full size items. In Birchbox, I tend to get more skin care products which is great.

If anyone wouldn’t mind signing up with my referral links, I’d really appreciate it.

Birchbox is a great lifestyle box with high end samples and a great point system. I have been with them for a year and 1/2. I would appropriate if anyone would be so kind as to use my link to sign up! https://www.birchbox.com/invite/ttr9g

  24. Kelly

I be appreciated if anyone use my referral link. I’m a college student and saving Birchbox points can help me out on necessity. Thanks.

In my opinion, what I love even WAY more than Birchbox is PopSugar Must Have box. While it’s priced higher than Birchbox at $40 and has more variety of products and it never ceases to amaze me of the value….typically $120 or more in hip products!! Seriously like Christmas every month! And there’s a promo code for $10 off by using MAR10. Check it out…you won’t be disappointed!

I also subscribe to Birchbox & love it! I get a good variety of things to try from makeup to yummy treats. I really like getting to try high-end products without having to spend a lot of money or go to the mall & get talked into spending more than I want to because of a good salesperson. Birchbox will occasionally add something extra. I’ve gotten a perfume atomizer, full-size Ghiradeli chocolate bar, ear buds, a leather keychain that holds lip balm or whatever, etc. I always look forward to getting their box in the mail. Their shop has tons of brands to use your points. You get 10 points for every quick & easy review you do for the samples you get–even the bonus items–so if you get 5 samples and a bonus item, you can do reviews for 60 points. They add up quickly & 100 points gets you $10 to spend in their shop. I really liked a sample they sent of Dr. Jart’s BB cream, but it costs $40 . I don’t like to spend that much on one makeup/skincare item, so I save my points to buy it in their shop. Another thing I love about it is that I can throw any of the samples that I know I won’t use/like into my gift closet for gift bag fillers. They are always appreciated!! If you’d like to try it out, please use my referral link: https://www.birchbox.com/invite/7tiffany I would be very grateful! πŸ™‚

  27. Tiffany

Forgot to add that you do receive promo codes via email regularly to make the most out of your points. The points also come in handy for gifts as well. Like, if I know my sister likes a certain brand that is outside of my budget, I can save points to get her something in their shop. I was able to gift her a Beauty Blender sponge (really good makeup applicator but not cheap!) by doing this. Also, you earn points for anything you buy (spending money instead of using points) in their shop, too! πŸ™‚ https://www.birchbox.com/invite/7tiffany

I love getting my box every month. It’s a great way to try new things. I expect to receive samples, some I can use. The ones I’m not interested in I give to my 13 year old niece and she loves them. For $10 a month I love it!

Agree with Marrisa, Ipsy is a great box to get every month. I love all the products. Here is my link https://www.ipsy.com/r/95oa. Birch box is great too, I guess it all depends on what you like. I say give each one a try and see which works best for your needs. Thanks

  30. Brianna

If anyone is interested in seeing what is in the boxes each month, just search Birchbox on Youtube. There were sooooooo many reviews.

  31. Renee

Hard to believe anyone would pay $10 a month for samples. Especially if one doesn’t know which samples they will receive. No thanks.

  32. Gina

I’ve had Birchbox for about two years and I really love it. Some boxes are better than others, but I often get full-sized samples of stuff that I really love. Last month included a full-sized Stila lip gloss, a perfume sample, small moisturizer, larger BB body cream, and a good-sized facial primer/sunscreen. Plus they introduce me to stuff that I may not have tried or known about. The points system gives you credits for each item that you review, and with their frequent promos, you can score expensive products for almost nothing; I used a 30% off offer and points to try a $65 eye cream for $7. If you’d like to try it, I would be so thankful it you would use my promo code:

Birchbox is ok, but Ipsy is where its at! I got $45 worth of product in my last one (and its only $10/month). If you’re interested in signing up, here is my link! https://www.ipsy.com/r/7x9l

Hi Collin! I recently signed up for Graze, it’s not beauty samples but healthy snacks. If you sign up through my link https://www.graze.com/us/p/L6R95PKKU . You can get the 1st and 5th box absolutley free. You can even cancel after the 1st free box! I think they’re $6 a box. They send your next box out every 2 weeks, but you can change it to come later. πŸ™‚
