Register Rewards are I why I avoid Walgreens. For one, they’re treated like coupons. If I purchase 6 items, each with a manufacturer’s coupon that means I cannot use my Register Rewards. Also, the RRs have an expiration date which is typically 2-3 weeks after they’re printed. I guess I’ve been spoiled by Target’s gift card deals lately, I don’t know, but Walgreens is disappointing when compared to other stores.
That’s why you buy “filler” items so you can have something for the RRs to attach to. Walgreens definitely lacks superb deals and they are lower on the list of stores to coupon at, but there are still some good deals to be had. What’s good about RR deals is that it helps when “rolling” with points. Since you cannot pay with points and earn points, there is no way to roll points. However, you can pay with points and earn a RR and then pay with a RR and earn points.
