Sears: *HOT* Possibly Score $50 in Points w/ a $50+ Grilling Accessories Purchase (In-Store or Online)

WOWZERS!! Here’s a smokin’ *HOT* deal for all you Shop Your Way Rewards members (sign up here for a free account if you are not yet a member)…

Sears, online AND in-store, is offering up a whopping 50,000 Shop Your Way Rewards points (= a $50 reward!) when you spend $50+ on participating grilling accessories (sold by Sears.com). Note that this may be for select rewards members… I am not sure at the point?! However, it is working for me both in-store and online.

This is a crazy awesome deal as you are basically scoring $50 worth of FREE grilling accessories (after you factor in the points)… great for Father’s Day! πŸ™‚ The earned points should show up on your receipt AND if you shop online, you should be able to see the points you are going to earn at checkout (as pictured below)…

There are so many deals to score from grill covers to grilling tools and MORE! Just make sure that the items are sold by Sears.com and that they qualify for points. Also, note that you may be able to use the promo code SEARS2014 to score $5 off a $50+ purchase AND keep in mind that it appears if you use points you’ve already earned to pay, your total CANNOT drop below $50 or else the 50,000 points won’t apply.

One deal idea (of the many you can score!) is on this Cuisinart 3 Piece Folding Grill Tool Set which is on sale for $29.98 (reg. $39.99!). You could purchase two (maybe as Father’s Day gifts?) AND qualify for the 50,000 in points, which means you are snagging TWO sets for only $9.96 after the $50 in points! AWESOME!

Be sure to share in the comments any of the qualifying grilling items you’re able to score…

(Thanks, Dhwani!)

How do you know if you got this deal?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Hi Corey!

I would suggest just testing online right now. Be sure you are signed into your Shop Your Way Rewards account first and then add $50 worth of qualifying grilling items to your cart. You could add two of the Cuisinart 3-Piece Folding Grill Tool Sets (just to test). Head to checkout and on the final checkout page (before placing your order), you should see the points you are about to earn below the price. Hope that helps!

  3. Sara

What item worked for you Collin?

  4. Aliza

    Don’t think I hv the deal πŸ™

    • Aliza

I think I do! I thought it was a coupon you had to load to your account but nope… Thanks so much!!!!!

  5. Jayna

Can you use the $50 points at kmart or just at Sears.

    • Rebe

      Sears, Kmart and Lands End.

      • Jayna

        Awesomqe!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      At either. πŸ™‚

  6. Sara

I added 54$ of stuff that qualify and it’s not showing on the bottom

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Are you signed into your Shop Your Way rewards account?

      • Sara

Ya I’m signed in I don’t know why it won’t work

        • zee

It’s only for “participating” items. I had to play with my cart a little until I saw the $50 in the sywr box on the right side of the cart listing.

  7. Krysten

    I got the deal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yay!! πŸ™‚

  8. Rebe

What an awesome deal! Love Sears and I love Hip2save! Go through shopathome for a whooping 12% cash back! I had $40 worth of Lands End gift cards from the Hallmark rewards program plus $3 worth of surprise points that were about to expire! πŸ™‚

    • jac

Yes, shopathome has 12% back! And use SEARS5OFF50 for an additional $5 off. (Just be sure your total is $50 or more after coupon.)

      • Katie

How do you get 12% cash back through shopathome? It is only showing 7% for me. Thanks!

    • Stokes

It only shows 5% back for me. I could be doing it wrong; I’ve never used ShopAtHome before.

  9. Katrina

It’s showing for me! Thanks, Colin! I’ll grab some stuff to throw in the gift closet. πŸ™‚

    • Katrina

      Oy. Collin. Pardon my spelling.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome!! So glad it worked for you! πŸ™‚

  10. Shayla

Showing for me and I just added (4) grill covers (subtotal of $53, $50 in pts show at bottom). Now debating on whether to pull the trigger or not…

  11. bree

    How do we know?

    • Rebe

How do you know if it will work? Put the items in your shopping cart and you will know before checking out. Look at Collin’s pics, at the bottom right of your shopping cart, thats where the system tracks your points. this is an advertised deal, should work for everyone as long as you choose the eligible items. Good luck!

  12. Sarah

When do the $50 in points expire? sometimes with these promotions, they expire quickly…..

    • Rebe

I logged out and logged back in and my 50000 points are already there. There is a message saying my next expiration date is June 30 2015 for 9 points (which was my remaining balance after points redeemed, they are worth less than a penny). This means the 50 000 have an expiration date of at least July 2015! πŸ™‚

      • Sarah

        Thank you!

  13. dhwani

this is advertised deal..check your weekly ad.

  14. Tonya

    Worked for me! Thanks Collin!!!!!

  15. bree

Does anyone have a better scenario?

  16. alpana

I also used SEARS5OFF50 code to take $5 off

    • Rebe

shopathome.com also has SEARS2014 for $5 off $50, not sure if it would work, worth a try!

      • Rebe

But remember you need to be a $59 for the free shipping, unless the items you want have store pick up available. By the way, did you know that if when doing store pick up they last more than 5 mins they give you a coupon of $5/5? It excludes clearance.

        • steph

That was my problem. Items were not available for store pickup and shipping was insane so I didn’t use the $5 off code and ended up with a total of $60 and change so I got free shipping plus all the points. I am thrilled with that. Thanks for posting Collin.

  17. bree

    Yea! I got it!

  18. Sarah

I just did this and it worked for me! Do not redeem any points on this order or you will not earn the $50 in points. The points should be able to be used and both kmart and sears.

    • Rebe

I used $3 worth of points and I already got the 50,000 points.

    • Amy K

Sarah, thank you for the heads up! I had to remove all my SWR points to get the 50,000 points (I tried different amounts and it wouldn’t work unless I removed ALL points).

      • Amy K

I need to update this… I had other items in my cart also (besides $50 grill items). I couldn’t use the $5 coupon &/or points without losing my 50,000 points. When I changed my cart to only grill items, I was then able to use the $5 coupon & enough points to get my subtotal down to $50 AND I still received the 50,000 points! A bit of a headache, but glad it worked out!

  19. Sara

When I use 23$ points of $50 the award for next order goes down to $1 so does that mean we have to spend $50 out of pocket?

    • Maggie

Yes. You are not supposed to redeem points and get points.

    • Rebe

I dont get it either, sorry. I just saw a screenshot of another blogger and she redeemed $17.85 worth of points and the window next to it still said she was going to get $50.51 in points. I redeemed $3 and also got the 50,000. The only good think is that at least you KNOW before placing your order!

      • Maggie

On a deal like this in the past, I also had the screen shot that said I would get the points even after redeeming the points. But I never actually got them in my account. I called and they told me that if you redeem points, you are not supposed to get bonus points… They did credit it because I told them it showed that, but it was more like $10. I have a feeling that I’d have a hard time getting them to credit $50 so I didn’t want to risk it myself.

        • Rebe

You are right Maggie. Also remember you can decide to choose a different amount. In a different blog someone wrote that if it gets below the $50 you wont get the points, so you may want to try that to reduce your oop. I used only $3 worth of points so I was still over the $50.

If you have been doing the hallmark rewards program, check if you have the lands end $5 e-cards as a reward, every bit helps. Good luck!

          • Shel

@ Rebe: Are you saying you were you able to use 8 of the Hallmark rewards (Land’s End gift cards) all in the same transaction? I’ve been hesitant to get more than one of those because I thought they might have to be used separately. Thanks, in advance, for your help! By the way, it’s really sweet of you to help everyone tonight. πŸ™‚

            • Rebe

Hi Shel, yes, I used all 8 e-cards at once, no problem. Just the hassle of copy-paste the # and the pin! πŸ˜‰

When the Hallmark Reward program started the rules said you could get the same reward once every certain # of months, dont remember, but not very often, but for the past months, they show me the same rewards over and over.

I did Sierra Trading Post like 8 times too until I ran out of rewards. Same with Lands End, it was still available, but I ran out of rewards to redeem. I have all my friends an family saving the cards for me or sending me pics of their UPC codes,
              what a great reward program!

If you dont see any reward that interest you, wait until the next month when they have new ones, just make sure you dont let them expire! πŸ™‚

              Glad to help!

            • Shel

Rebe: Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! I really appreciate the information πŸ™‚

          • rgrtt

what is hallmark rewards, sorry I am new to all these coupons and points.

            • dazz

              Google it!

  20. Susan

Requiring me to spent $70 to get $50 SYWR

  21. Rachel

I got so excited for this deal because I had some Rewards points to use on the order! However, when I redeemed the points – it no longer offered me the 50,000 points. Since I had 59,000 points to use – it only offered me like 6 points for my purchase. I am glad I saw that BEFORE I placed the order. Would have been nice for “free”, but don’t have the $50 to put up front.

Thank, Collin for this deal! Just didn’t work out for me.

  22. bree

So the 5 off 50 will cut into my 50,000 points?

  23. Kerri R.

I cannot seem to get it; help what am I doing wrong?

    • Rebe

      1. Makes sure you loging to shopyourwayrewards.com

      2. Then login to your sears.com

      3. Add any of the mentioned items, you could try the Cuisinart 14 Piece Deluxe Grill Set or Kenmore 4pc Stainless Steel Grilling Tool Set.

      4. Right on the item page, below the name of the item, there is a yellow triangular box that says “special offers”. If you click on it, it shows you this offer plus some more. Then you know that’s an eligible item before putting it in your shopping cart.

Add at least $50 worth of these eligible merchandise, possibly up to $59 to get free shipping if free store pick up is not offered.

      5. Use the codes mentioned for an extra $5.

      6. You should be able to see the same picture Collin has. At the bottom, right hand of your shopping cart, thats where the points track. You know before placing your order if you did it right.

      7. Dont forget to go through shopathome.com for 12% cash back.

      8. GOOD LUCK!

  24. Alexander T

I just checked this also woks with the surprise points when you spend 60 and get 10 dollars off. To make this a even better deal!! For sears only though.

  25. yuliya

Can you only do it once?

    • Rebe

You can do it more than once, but you can not roll the points.

  26. Susan

Exactly what items are you putting in your cart for the deal to work?

  27. Patty

Just ordered and checked Shop Your Way reward balance and it shows expiration on new points of 6/30/15. πŸ˜†

    • Maddy

does the points shows up in your account right away? And can I use the points on anything right away???

      • Patty

I ordered, then logged out and logged back in. The newly earned points were visible right away. I would think you could use the points after their system updates later tonight. I was so happy as I have been trying to get a rack for the Cuisinart grill that Collin posted about from Amazon.

        Purchased June 08,2014
        2 item(s)
        You’ve Earned 53,748 Points
Currently, items can’t be purchased and returned online in the same day. Please come back tomorrow or visit your local Sears store to return it today

        • Maddy

Thank you for replying to my question. I think I’m gonna pass this time. Last time I ordered something they told me that they will match the points that I used and that was a month ago. I never see it. Oh well. Thanks again.

  28. Sue

Does it work on propane tanks?

    • Rebe

      Unfortunately, no.

  29. Maggie

Thanks for this deal! We just bought a grill today! We were in need of a grill cover, but I told hubby that we had to wait til one was on sale!

  30. Macey

Worked for me…total needed to be $50 after all discounts and point redemptions. Thanks!

  31. Chrissy

does anyone know when you will be able to used those Points?

  32. jac

Thank you so much, Collin! I was able to get a set of heat shield burner covers that we’ve been needing for grill repair, and a few nice grilling tools. I redeemed points and a coupon, but made sure to keep my total over $50 (barely–$50.30!). My receipt shows that I earned 503 base points and 52,013 bonus points. And I’ll get 12% back through shopathome. That’s a really great deal.

I only hope the bonus points post quickly. I had my eye on a few more grilling items!

  33. Mallory

My total was still over 50 after point redemption, and it said that I earned 50,000 in points from my order, but when I log in to my account, the points aren’t there. How long do they take to show up in my account?

    • jac

Mine aren’t there, either, but I chose store pick-up. I assume that the order won’t process until they open tomorrow. (?)

    • steph

It is because your order is still processing. If you received an email confirmation of your order look on the bottom of the invoice and it should show you all of your points(pts. earned and totals). HTH

  34. Kaylene

So I added things that said they were part of the deal, but the points aren’t showing up… (before I check out) I added the things Collin said and it shows up… I’m so confused… I clicked on the yellow box that says special offers and they said they are participating…

  35. Heather

    Sweet! Thanks ladies!

PS Don’t forget to go through ebates for 6% back.

  36. Kai

Mine didn’t show the first time, I added items then signed in. But I refreshed and signed in then added the items and it worked.

  37. Hannah

Thanks Collin! I was able to get a sausage basket, sauce and bean pot, and a 17 piece BBQ set for $55.98 and $52.61 back in points πŸ™‚

  38. Cindy

Awesome! Basically 2 free items for my college students to gift to Dad for Father’s Day πŸ™‚

  39. Betsy

I got a pizza stone, peel, and cutter set, a meat thermometer, and a smores grilling set with $5 off and $50 back in points. I took screen shots showing where it said I would get $50 in points back and then saying I had $50 in points. I redeemed $10 in points and I think if you’re not allowed to redeem and earn rewards they would make that clear through checkout. If I don’t get my points, I will be calling customer service…

  40. angela

Yah it worked for me too! Plus I got free shipping on my order by adding a five dollar baby outfit to get my total to $59. Plus I used $4.96 worth of shopyourway rewards money to make my purchase for the grill accessories exactly $50. I walked away only spending $8 and that includes two cuisinart grill kits and a baby outfit shipped to my house! Yah! One happy lady here!

  41. Dianne K

SEARS2014 also takes off $5 off $50. Going through ShopDiscover Card takes an additional 10%. My total was $63.72 and I used $13 in points. If I used them all, the new credit disappeared. I got $52.54 back in points.

  42. HEATHER TILLMAN

THANK YOU WONDERFUL FATHERS DAY GIFT I ACTUALLY GOT A DIFFERANT SET, A GRILLIN BOOK MY HUBBY NEEDED AND A INDIVIDUAL PIECE. IT WILL BE QUITE A GIFT PLUS 50 FOR ME!!!

  43. Kimberly

I spent a long time looking through all of the different items. After more than an hour, I went through Shop at Home for 12% back and used the $5/$50 code SEARS2014 and got free shipping for spending over $59, by doing this order:

    Kenmore Oversized Basket Topper $12.55
Kenmore Colored Stainless Steel Basting Brush $4.17
    3-in-1 Burger Press $8.36
    Citrus Citruafe Barbecue Cleaner $7.52
Kenmore Meat Thermometer 2 Pack $12.54
    Outset Meat Shredders $18.40

    Merchandise Subtotal $63.54
    Shipping/Handling FREE
    Pre tax Subtotal $63.54
    Tax $4.28
    Total $67.82

    Earning $50.64 in points! πŸ™‚

    • Rebe

      Thanks for sharing Kimberly!

  44. COJ

I have never used SYWR so I was nervous bout this whole thing. I thought since it was online I’d try Ebates and score some extra savings. I did this used Ebates got and additional $3.20 (Ebates) & was given coupon code SEARS2014 for $5 off $50. I also had $7 in surprise points but chose not to use them as I’m saving all points and rewards to use on my vacation in a week. This deal just took care of both my father and husband father’s day gifts for free. Love it

  45. campanita

    MUCHISISISISISISIMAS GRACIAS COLLIN !
I hope it works and that they not cancel my order, I went to Rite Aid tonight before they closed and bought 2 $25 SEARS Gift Cards and got 5UPS for each, I also went in the morning to Kmart to spend the 3000 points that I got during the week, thanks to you (watching the Ads) and got a coupon (purchase $35 or more and get 10,000 points). I also used the Shopathome coupon, at the end I paid $56.16 and got $62.60 back in points.
I got, 1 Kenmore 17-Piece Barbecue Set with Digital Fork Thermometer, 1 Steven Raichlen Stainless Adjustable Sausage Basket and 3 Kenmore Colored Stainless Steel Tongs. The only bad thing is that I have to pick up the tongs at my store because they were sold out on line, everything else will be ship.
I am crossing my fingers and one more time ” THANK YOU VERY MUCH “

    • Marina

Oh Muy buena idea with the Rite Aid deal. I guess I will do the same. Thanks for sharing Campanitan

  46. arielM

Wow this was a little frustrating for me, it took me a while to figure out what to buy, but it was worth it, I ended up getting the 17 piece bbq set, citrus cleaner, little grill scrubbers, and a griddle for about 5 dollars after points! Thanks so much collin! These deals are insane!!

  47. T

DO NOT place a Pay-in-Store order for Sears. I learned this the hard way. If you choose pay-in-store, you will most likely NOT receive your points. I made the mistake of doing this with the Keurig deal a while back, and I had to fight with Sears several times over the course of 3 months to get my points (they kept changing their story). Meanwhile, people that paid online were getting their full points quickly.

With that said- Thanks Collin & Co. for an amazing deal!!!

    • T

Just wanted to add that I did have screenshots and such to back up my claim, but they didn’t care since points are not guaranteed and are subject to change…

  48. Peg

I ordered the dutch oven, it cost me $63 but got the $50 in points. What a great deal. Wonder if you can place multiple orders?

    • nicole

what dutch oven item did you get that qualifies for the grilling promo?

  49. steph

Ended up with several Steven Raichlen items (we watch his grilling shows all the time). Hubby will be thrilled and now my kitchen utensils will be able to remain in the kitchen.

  50. Lynn

I think people might be having trouble getting it to work if they are trying to get items sold by places other than Sears (i.e. Wayfair.com or shopyourwaypartners which are featured on sear’s website). I was able to get it to work much easier once I searched only sears.com products. Sorry if this has already been mentioned!
