ha parking:) when I went to take my driving test 19 years ago, I said to the lady, just subtract the 4 points, I can’t parallel park! she said oh no no you have to try it, well after several frustrating minutes she said never mind I’ll just subtract the 4 points! To this day, I have never parallel parked, and I will drive a mile further to find parking in order to avoid it.

    • Pat

I can’t parallel park either. In germany my mothers whole street tried to teach me and finally gave up. I would just drive around her circle until I found a place to park. Ha!

    • steph

Back in 1982 when I took my drivers test I failed the parallel parking portion twice and back then if you failed 3 times, you had to wait 6 months. I cried and cried all the way home after the 2nd failed attempt. My Dad called my Uncle and asked if I could practice with their little Chevy Citation because I was using a Buick something and it was longer. I passed on the 3rd try, got my license and prayed I would never had to use it in real life. To this day I probably could count on one hand how many times I have parallel parked! Sorry, no tips here!

    • nicolegammeter

      LOL! πŸ˜‰

  6. Lieca Nickel

Don’t have a textable phone; are there other ways to obtain the coupons without texting LUNCH like you are talking about in your video?

    • Yessenia

I’m in the same boat. I miss out on all deals that require texting. I don’t know why. I can text other people but can’t text to those 5 or 6 digit numbers.

      • Cindy

Call your cell phone provider. They sometimes have those numbers blocked as spam. I could not get them either until my company lifted the block.

    • steph

      Same here!

    • nicolegammeter

Hi Lieca! There aren’t. πŸ™ You need a phone capable of receiving the mobile offers.

  7. Liss

Will these coupons work it you do them at self checkout?

    • nicolegammeter

Hi Liss! The self-checkout scanners do not accept barcodes, so it’s best to go through a regular checkout lane.

  8. Denise

We love our kids but it’s nice to have them back in school again! Shopping in peace

  14. JA

Yay! I missed your videos. I went this morning and got some goodies, but have to go back for the Colgate and Ziploc deals. And, maybe I shouldn’t say this…but the C9 shorts cartwheel does work on clearance. Got a pair for my daughter for $2.38. And a little OT, but I made my own home-made Cartwheel card, a la Lina, and it worked perfectly! The cashier however, was totally lost on how awesome it was. She said, “That’s great, if you want to make one every time.” Duh?! She didn’t even know how it worked. She said she never used hers. I tried to explain it to her, but I don’t think I sold her on it.

  15. Ashley R.

Love the Got 2 B glue hair gel!!!! Works perfect on my boys hair!! I need to find some of those coupons!!!

  16. Mar

Win! And I am loving that top, thank you!

    • nicolegammeter

      Thanks!! πŸ™‚

  17. jac

Welcome back, Collin. We missed you. πŸ™‚

    • nicolegammeter

      Thank you!! πŸ™‚

  18. Kim

When I read the SavingStar Q and A, it says that you aren’t supposed to stack manufacturer coupons. Their 50 cents off 2 for the Nature Valley bars is a manufacturer coupon so you should not stack it with another General Mills coupon. Am I understanding this correctly?

    • Erin

Yes, you are understanding it correctly. You are not *supposed* to use a Savingstar coupon and another manufacturer coupon together, but they are currently doing nothing to actively prevent it, so people ignore it or say that is just a “suggestion.”

  19. Steph

Just an FYI regarding Starbucks gold cards (or any registered card). Rather than simply using up a new, unregistered Starbucks gift card that someone has given you, have a barista transfer the balance to your registered card first. That way you’ll “capture” the reward star rather than letting it go to waste. More stars = more free drinks. Yay!

  20. Misty Raby Lipps

Thanks Collin! Missed you!! Love the hair. You are an inspiration. Target has been a bummer for me past few months. But I feel like tackling them again! Happy fall!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awwww… thanks! Happy Fall to you too! πŸ™‚

  21. Mia

Oooo Collin welcome back. Soooo nice to see you again. I missed you πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  22. Steph

I hadn’t finished your video before making the above comment, so I didn’t see the part about you parallel parking. There are few things that I am a master of in this world, but parallel parking is one of them. I’ve even had friends in the past (women AND men) switch seats with me so I could park their cars. The key is in the steering wheel. Pull up alongside the car in front of the spot you’re trying to park in, angle the back of the car into the space, and when you’ve come to the point where you’re hitting the curb, switch your car to “drive” or first gear, but don’t hit the gas hard. Instead, just “tickle” it lightly so the car barely moves. Meanwhile, crank the steering wheel hard to straighten the tires. This will change the angle of the car and allow you to get more of the car into the space before your tires touch the curb again. Keep doing this until you are completely in the space. Remember…less movement of the car, more shifting between “drive” and “reverse” and a lot of cranking of the steering wheel. Hope that helps!

    • April

Agreed and practice. When it looks like your going to hit the car parked behind you, you actually have room…if it’s safe while your practicing get out and look.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

WOW! Thanks for the advice – much appreciated! πŸ™‚

  23. kelle

Thank you so much you are awsome

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome!!

  24. gypsemommyX4

the only reason i can parallel park is because of my back up camera if it wasn’t for that lil gadget i would never parallel park unless i can drive straight in and not have to back up at all

  25. Regina

    Hi Collin,
I live in Colorado I absolutely am so happy to see you back. I was feeling a bit lonely there for a bit hahaha. I missed you dont leave me hanging ever again hahahaha.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      πŸ˜‰

  26. April

If you don’t have kids, I often use hair conditioner instead of shaving cream for my legs and underarms. It’s much cheaper and I feel like it’s a closer shave.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great tip!

  27. Sarah

So glad you’re back!! The videos definitely help motivate me! Thank you for taking the time to put them together! πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are sure welcome!

  28. justme

I can’t parallel park either! Did it once to pass the driving test years ago and I avoid it like the plague! I love your neighbor watching you! Too funny! Loved the video, it’s inspiring!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad I’m not the only one who has issues parallel parking! πŸ˜‰

  29. SimplySara

My comment is similar to Steph’s. When I was learning how to drive, parallel parking was not my strong suit. However, my boyfriend at the time was a valet, and could park anything. Now I can get in very tight spaces, and I am also the designated parker.

So, what he taught me was to pull up alongside the car in front of you, about 1.5 – 2 feet between your car and that one, and line up the back ends. Then, put the car in reverse and turn the steering wheel all the way, aiming your taillight the back quarter of the open space (imagine the open space in 25% sections). Then, put the car in drive, then turn the steering will all the way to other direction, and slowly drive forward to straighten your wheels as much as you can. Then put it in reverse again to even up the space between your car and the ones in front and behind.

Also, if you are on a hill (down or up), don’t forget to angle your wheels. Uphill, crank the steering wheel all the way to the left so the back of your front tires would roll back to the curb. Downhill, crank the wheel all the way to the right so the car would roll toward the curb.

    • Rae

This is very similar to how my sister taught me! I still avoid it when possible but I can do it if I have to.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks much for the tips!! πŸ™‚

  30. steph

Collin, you have to give your opinion of the fiber one streusel bars. Are they good? I have been on the fence with buying them.

    • Jessie

They are delicious! So worth it πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yep – I agree! πŸ˜€ Soooo good!

  31. Alicia

YESSSSS…You do not even know how excited I was to log in and see your video Collin!! So excited to see you back in action. I cannot wait to go pick up some new shorts for my daughter, what a FABULOUS deal!! Thank you for all that you do. πŸ™‚

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are sure welcome!! πŸ™‚

  32. Kristen

Unfortunately you can’t use 5 .50/1 nature valley q’s because target only allows 4 like coupons per transaction
πŸ™ doesn’t make or break you tho!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Well, from what I understand, if they are from different sources you can. So if you have three $0.50/1 printable coupons and two $0.50/1 insert coupons, I think it would be fine. I had a mix of both when I was out shopping.

  33. Tana

I am so glad you are back making the shopping videos, Collin! Just seeing that you had a video out today made me smile, and I saved it for when I would have a chance to savor it. My best friend and I often watch your videos together, and get so much out of them. We are your biggest fans! Be well and God bless!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the kind words and glad to hear you enjoy the videos! πŸ™‚

  34. Kristen

I was watching a video Krazy coupon lady posted and it was like 10 seconds long and after it ended I felt kinda sad. I was like “what was that? They weren’t funny, or bubbly, or friendly..THEY WERENT COLLIN!” Anyways.. Love to see the videos back! You always make me smile!

  35. Shirley

Do you mind to let me know where you got the be amazing necklace?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My sweet sister purchased the necklace for me for my Birthday. πŸ™‚ I think she bought it at a local shop called Dragonfly.

  36. Ray

Awesome video. Thanks for all the deals. I went today and purchased some of the same deals. The cashier was so rude about accepting my coupons. After I brought my total down $50 she took my receipt and said “I’m just checking everything is right on here”…Ugh the nerve of her. She even called the manager to look at it.

    • jau

You are not the only one. I did the got 2 b deal today and the cashier gave me attitude while scanning my coupons. I think they just jelous…
      Hahah!

    • Amanda M

I know what you mean, I take my time picking my cashier before I check out now. Today I picked a super nice girl but with her talking about her cat so much I did not realize she charged me for 12 tomatoes while I only have ONE!now I gotta go back and get my 11 bucks, at least all coupons worked lol

  37. Bujji

How do we get greeting card mobile coupon….!instead of printing?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think it’s currently only available as a printable.

      • Bujji

        Thanks you Collin.

  38. Pam

She’s back!! Miss your videos girlfriend!! I’m getting my list and coupons together and heading to target.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re welcome! I sure appreciate all the sweet comments. πŸ™‚

  41. Mamacita

    Hi Collin,

I have a really good tip to parallel park in 3 Easy steps. Step 1 start by backing up so that your car passanger door handle(end of the door) is parallel to the back end part of the car that is parked. Step 2 turn the wheel almost all the way or all the way depending on how much space you have. Step 3 back up as you let go of the wheel little by little and the car will park it’s self. It takes practice, but I use it every day. I am from Boston were there is no parking and lots of traffic.
    Good Luck!

  42. Ana

yay you’re back! and you got a haircut :O

  43. Carol_R
