Just pm’ed airplane for $10.88, car for $10.97, and the bus for $14.97 with no problem at Wmart! Wanted the tractor but they didn’t have one. My store also had helicopter.
Walmart’s coupon policy states they dont price match internet ads, only paper ads. I was able to score the Little People Barn set for my son last christmas for under 15$ when it was normally around 30$ thanks to target price matching with Amazon!

Be careful toys r us will match PLUS the cost of shipping for online price matches walmart.com, amazon.com etc they add like 6.99 on to the price match….just tried a few days ago, i couldn’t believe it!
They never did that for me and I PM all the time. Might just be your store.
That is so strange! I had a problem today when they wouldn’t even try to take my coupon after price match. I glanced at policy and it does state they will factor in shipping costs! They didn’t try that. But was disappointed no coupons on top of that.
According to the policy they do charge the shipping charge, which makes no sense.
Here are the guidelines:
•Our Price Match Guarantee is valid for in-store purchases only.
•Price Match is given at the time of purchase or within 7 days of purchase date with a valid receipt.
•When two or more of the same item are purchased, Price Match will be limited to two of those items.
•We will match prices in our competitors’ local print advertisements.
•We will match prices from selected online competitor websites, including Walmart.com, Target.com, BestBuy.com, Sears.com, Kmart.com, buybuyBaby.com, Meijer.com, FredMeyer.com, diapers.com, BabyDepot.com, LEGO.com and Amazon.com (not including marketplace pricing).

Does toys r us price match? I know they did at Christmas last year but is it year round? They are the only store that I have seen the boat at.

Here’s what the price matching policy states:
Target and Cartwheel coupons: Target and Cartwheel coupons will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target and Cartwheel coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor’s price.
Hmm, I think YMMV, as my Target price-matched and allowed a cartwheel on several occasions (toys and groceries). It was even management who took care of me so I think it’s up to each store.

No, my Toys R Us wouldn’t let me use the coupon. So I went to Target. I did have to show the rep the policy because she wasn’t going to take the coupon at first.

I was just about to ask this. According to targets price match policy the item must be in stock. Has anyone had success?
I wondered that too since the airplane is out of stock online at Walmart.
Again, it’s probably a YMMV. It is suppose to be an item that they carry and just out of stock online but also carried in store, they should price match but it’s a store call. Good luck!
Just an update target did price match and applied coupon I just had a hard time finding a target with the airplane in stock.
I was just at Marcs today (a local discount retailer that actually TAKES manufacturer coupons) and found the corn popper for $6. After coupon, only $3. I love that for baby/1st bday gifts =)

At least not for the LP stuff. I’ve seen the corn popper and infant toys as cheap or cheaper via clearance, sale, coupon, and/or promotion combos.

You go to guest services to check out… tell them you want to price match from walmart.com then they look it up on an I pad they have there (which is why typically you have to check out at guest services when price matching, because they look it up there).
Anyone running into an issue with the Giraffe? My Target wouldn’t let me match because their pice match ipad wasn’t finding the item. It was coming up as a seahorse and not a giraffe.
I had this happen before and pulled it up on my phone to show them. They accepted it but I’m not sure if that is their typical policy.
Mine refused to do that and none of the TRUs in my area have it in stock. Really wanted it for our nursery.

My target crystal lake Illinois is an awful store. Tried to do this today w the air plane and bath boat. Target here claims that the walmart online says rollback and that means clearance so rhey WON’t price match. The CS was totally rude. I hate that location more and more.

My customer service person was super mean about price matching with a coupon. She said it was Targets policy not to accept both…Anyone else run into this? She let me get the deal but I was curious if it’s true or was she just sick of seeing the deal?

Mine said the same thing. They said it was right “here in our policy” that we don’t take coupons w pm. I read the corporate policy to them from online and they gave it to me. Hate when I have to feel like I’m doing something wrong when I’m not. They weren’t happy. Just got back from price matching at Toys R Us. Got both the PM and the coupons applied. The cashier said he wasn’t sure if the system would take the coupon after price match, but said he’d try and it went through. Paid $11.73 after taxes for the tub time boat and the airplane! Not sure why another hip2saver was charged shipping on top of price match, but it didn’t happen to me. I handed over print outs of the online prices at walmart.com and the out of stock status wasn’t even a factor. Thanks for posting this deal, Collin!

I’m Going to try the bath boat and giraffe at toys r us this weekend. Does anyone have any tips? I’ve never PMed there. Do they do it at the register or guest services? To those having bad luck at Target I would just try another one. I’ve done the bus, airplane, and bounce, stride, ride toy in the last week with coupons there and they were super nice. The airplane was out of stock online, but they didn’t care.

Tip for Toys R Us: Go to their website. They have a “live chat” option. Live chat with one of their representatives. Ask them if you can price match with walmart.com and THEN use the coupon. Also include the links to what you are price matching. Cover all your bases with questions. The online representatives seem to know their stuff much better than store employees. When I did this, they checked out the items I had linked and said I could absolutely do this deal. Then PRINT this conversation! I went into Toys R Us, and like I was expecting, I had a manager that treated me rudely and like I was stupid (not new for this store). I quickly pulled out the conversation I had printed and told her I thought I might need it just for this reason. She couldn’t say much, as I had clearly been told this deal was okay to do. She did say that I shouldn’t be able to price match if the item was “out of stock”, but I quickly told her that I sent the link to the online representative, and she said it would not be a problem. Worked like a charm (except for having to deal with a rude person)! I got the airplane and tugboat for a little more than $10 total! I also had their coupon policy handy just in case 🙂 Thanks Collin!

Yes, people have problems–but others don’t. You have to judge whether it is worth your time and gas based on YOUR Target. Do they give you problems otherwise? If they tend to give you problems using coupons or hassles about gift card promotions, probably not worth it.

I had no problems with the price match at target even though the item is out of stock. However, I went to the target near me that is less strict about price matching. At the Target I usually shop at, I had a price match refused once because the item was out of stock.

My Wal-Mart said they priced match their “own” online prices. So I was able to score the mower, airplane, Giraffe & Rock-a-Stack toys. Have to head back tomorrow & do the first blocks; forgot to do that one tonight.

Went today and found a tub boat. Price match and used MQ and my TRU reward. Had to throw in bottle nipples on clearance for .04 cents to use my TRU reward. Walked out paying .35. The cashier said you should be proud of yourself. :). Thanks Colin.
