We just wanted to reach out with a bit of information about the recent Virgin Mobile offer of “$35 on an $11.99 handset” over the weekend of 9/19 through 9/22.

This week, we have been in discussion with Virgin mobile and their agents regarding this issue. Although we placed their offer correctly on our site and despite repeated requests, Virgin have informed us that they will not pay out cashback on your order unless the handset is activated. However, we don’t feel that this is fair to our members and I am pleased to tell you that, in line with our fair play policy, TopCashback will honour the offer displayed on our site.

As long as the transaction has tracked to your TopCashback account, we will make the $35 payable within the next 2-3 weeks.

To be clear, if you do decide to activate the handset, TopCashback will receive the $35 from Virgin rather than paying for this ourselves, but whatever you decide to do with the handset, you will receive the full amount of cashback you expected.

We are however aware that some transactions have not appeared at all. If your transaction hasn’t tracked, I’m afraid we’d only be able to honor this cashback if you can provide us with proof of activation. Similarly, if you have made multiple transactions we can only offer on the initial one.[/h2s_box]

* You will then receive $35 in TopCashBack awarded to your account
(may take up to 7 days, but rumor has it that you may see the cash back show up in a few hours)
* You will then need to wait a few weeks to cashout.

After you take into account the cash back, you will be pocketing $23! 😀

Something to consider: If supplies of the Samsung Entro run out, you could opt for the Kyocera Kona (which is 3G enabled, has a 2MP camera, Bluetooth and 128MB RAM) or Brio (which has a 1.3 MP camera with digital zoom, Bluetooth and QWERTY keyboard) instead to still get-in on a money-maker deal; however they are slightly more expensive at $15.99 and $23.99 (plus sales tax) respectively, so there will be slightly less profit. But it’d still be a nice deal!

      It appears activation is not required if your transaction is tracked fine and you can see $35 in pending state.

      I’m in the same boat. Guess I will just eat the loss. This is so wrong, and I am very angry about it. I followed, as did my husband, the exact directions spelled out in the offer. I have the screenshot. I can’t see how they can legally back out now.

        I think we all need to report Virgin Mobile and Topcashback to the BBB. I will also be sending letters to their corporate offices with delivery confirmation along with a copy of the original screenshot and the new wording. This is unethical and a terrible way to treat customers. They are going to lose a lot of business.

          I just filed a BBB complaint. I don’t like doing anything like this at all, but it was really bugging me. It’s just so wrong to blatantly advertise something like that and then back out.

    My cash back is Pending so hopefully I’ll recoup the $50 I spent buying 2 phones. I had all intentions of signing up for service on both phones thru their $6.98/month plan. When chatting with them they failed to mention that $20/month was the lowest priced plan available on the 2 phones I bought. Plus these phones can’t even get on wi-fi. They are basically bad cameras to me. That is the only thing I can use them for. I’ve bought several deals through Top Cash Back and they have always come through without me ever having to ask for my money so hopefully this will work out and I can move on.

      UPDATE – I was able to do the pay out to PayPal but it’s still going to take up to 14 days to get to my paypal account. Feeling more optimistic about this company now.

    My $35 are now showing as payable but when I go to get a payout it says “You don’t currently have any payable cashback to withdraw, but when you do, you will be able to request your payout from here.” Anyone know if this is their way of keeping me from cashing out or am I missing a step here. This is my first time using topcashback.com and although I am giving them the benefit of the doubt, depending on how this turns out, this will determine if I continue to use them or not. Now, Virgin Mobile on the other hand is dead to me and I will not ever buy anything from them nor will I activate my phone (sorry TCB), they will not get another penny from me. 🙂

              I just wish they would make this right for all of the people’s accounts who were deleted by them. I sent them proof that my transaction was tracked and they are coming back telling me it was declined. I saved a copy of the screenshot showing my account had the $35 in my account and now it shows “0” as if the transaction never took place. Based on reading other’s comments, I know I am not the only one this has happened to. I’m thankful it is working out for some of you, but it would be nice if they treated all their customers with the same respect. It’s not our fault they decided to delete some of our accounts. I have e-mailed them, sent them claims and support tickets without any resolution. They need to make this right for everyone who can show proof that they purchased the phone.

        UPDATE 2: The $35 were deposited into my paypal account this morning. I am happy that this company honored the deal (wether they came to this decision on their own or through pressure) they could have just refused like other companies have in the past with a ‘too good to be true’ deal. This makes me think highly of them and I will continue to use them. I hope everyone else has a good outcome as well.

    UPDATE: I have successfully cashed out my payment via paypal. Now says they are transferring to my PayPal account. However, I still did not receive referral bonus that was tracked. Submitted another support ticket to get it resolved. But the $35 was successfully cashed out!!! Let’s see how long it takes to get to my paypal account

    My case was not tracked properly and I submitted a claim. TCB told me that because I have not activated my phone all they would be able to do is refund me the purchase price. Anyone had luck with this and still managing to get the full $35?

    I called virgin mobile today. They said they credit back $35 to customer who bought the phone. I don’t understand why you deleted some customer accounts and did not recovery those accounts so far. I contacted you several times by email, until now i still didn’t get your answer back, my account still does not exist. I have proof for my purchase, and account with you when i created before i purchased the phone. I also log in to my topcashback account and saw my $35 pending after I bought the phone. Wish you can read my message here.

    Topcashback is a scam. I made a purchase on Wayfair by clicking on a link through topcashback. I got the confirmation from topcashback that they recorded my visit. I purchased a TV stand (and did not use any coupons). Now topcashback is saying the merchant won’t pay because they can’t trace my transaction….even though they have proof of me visiting wayfair through them. I think they intentionally attempt to make it difficult to collect money. I will never do business with them again!
