Update on TopCashBack Virgin Mobile Offer

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

If you took part in the TopCashBack Virgin Mobile offer, you may have received a message today via email or noticed a message in your account. If not, I wanted to be sure to share this message with you that was sent to me directly from TopCashBack:

[h2s_box width=”2″ style=”dashed” color=”#0DB84B”]
Dear Hip2Save readers,

We would like to thank you ever so much for your patience over the last week-or-so as we worked behind the scenes continuously to resolve the $35 Virgin Mobile cashback hitch.

We have been in multiple discussions with Virgin Mobile and its agent regarding the “$35 cashback for any handset purchase” offer that was available over the weekend of September 19 through 22. Although we placed the offer correctly on TopCashback.com and despite repeated requests, Virgin Mobile has informed us it will not pay out cashback on your order unless the handset is activated. We do not feel this is fair to our members so, we are very pleased to tell you that, in line with our fair play policy, TopCashback will honour the offer displayed on our site.

As long as the transaction has posted in your TopCashback account, we will make the $35 cashback payable within the next two to three weeks.

To be clear: if you do decide to activate the handset, TopCashback will receive the $35 cashback from Virgin Mobile rather than us paying you it out of our own pocket; but whatever you decide to do with the handset, you will receive the full amount of cashback you expected.

Once again, thank you very much for your understanding while we worked to resolve this situation. Our aim is to always do the best for our members and we hope you continue to enjoy our money-saving services.

Best wishes,

TopCashback[/h2s_box]

    Wow.

  2. Catie

Wow–this is very generous of them.

    • Tia

It is – but they also need to hammer down on the details of these deals. It seems to me the ‘activation’ part should have come up before now.

      • Catie

        Agreed.

      • TopCashback Support

        Hi Tia,

We were not given any indication that activation was required until the promotion had ended. This will have caused confusion and we are sorry for that. We have done our best in working with Virgin Mobile to resolve this but have not been able to get the outcome we had hoped for. Any future promotions will of course be clarified more thoroughly to ensure this situation does not happen again, for the merchant, ourselves and of course, our members.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

    • Sara

      Seriously? Not generous at all.
They have few to none that have tracked so
the amount out of pocket for them will be little to nothing.
What they need to do is drop VM from their merchant list for the
stunt. Someone posted something incorrectly..instead they blame each other.
No one seems to be assuming blame for this!
I can assure you that TopCashBack is not doing this out
of the goodness of their hearts…they are trying to save
customers…I know what I’m going to do–you need to make
that decision for yourselves. Personally I think Hip2Save should avoid
any future postings about VM and TCB deals…

      • Carol_R

        Mine tracked.

      • Kam

Exactly! This is not the first time they have refused payment on one of these cell phone offers! The only reason they are paying out is because this blog site was the direct main link to this deal. Had Hip2Save not posted about this and you did it on your own, you wouldn’t have gotten any response whatsoever. I definitely agree that Hip2Save should absolutely cut ties from posting anything about TopCashBack.

      • April

Yea why would Virgin Mobile give away phones and give people $20 for nothing. Especially since most people won’t even activate the phone. You should be mad at Top Cash Back. Cell phone companies give free phones to people who use their service so to expect you were going to get $20 to take a phone from Virgin makes no sense for Virgin.

      • TopCashback Support

        Hi Sara,

We do completely understand your point here and the frustration this situation has caused. We fully appreciate the offer was not listed on site correctly, as at the time this went live, we were acting in good faith for the offer information given. We always put our members first and make every effort to recover any cashback amount but unfortunately this isn’t always possible.

The advertised cashback is paid for by the merchants, who pass it to us for a member’s purchase. When this is received, we pass the full 100% of this back to our members as cashback, so we make no money from your transactions.

I can assure you that we have had a good few thousand transactions tracking for this offer that went through as expected. This means if Virgin Mobile are not going to honor these transactions, we unfortunately won’t receive any amount, so the payout will come directly from our own pockets. We do feel this is completely the right decision to make though, as part of our Fair Play policy. If a purchase has been activated we will go on to receive the amount from Virgin, but we will honor this regardless.

If your transaction has not tracked to your account at all, we have taken the decision to refund the purchase price of the handset to those affected members. If this applies to you, please get in touch to contact@topcashback.com with proof of purchase and we’ll be more than happy to sort this for you.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

  3. Jamie

They still haven’t posted pending cash back in mine or my boyfriends account for this deal. I contacted them and submitted a claim over a week ago and it’s still not pending. Every time I have taken advantage of the free cashback offers I have had to chase them down for the money. Very annoying- has anybody else experienced this? On another note, I am glad they are honoring the deal despite not being backed by Virgin mobile. 🙂

    • Carmen

Mine never posted either. I’ve also filed a claim. We’ll see what happens, but I’m not expecting any resolution.

      • Rose

I don’t do these deals it’s not worth the trouble.

      • TopCashback Support

        Hi Carmen,

Our Claims team will be in touch directly via your claim in your account with further information. I am really sorry that you’ve been affected by this issue and we’ll do our best to resolve this for you through that claim thread.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

        • S

I will be filing a claim also if I keep getting the runaround, I made it clear to TCB about my missing pending that was originally there BEFORE all this happened and they keep responding with generic nonsense, I have a screen capture of the pending amount and it vanished,,, BEFORE all of this happened… Almost like you knew that there was going to be an issue and you randomly deselected pending accounts.

    • Gayla

Mine never posted either. I did everything it said, including clearing cookies, etc. and got the screen that says they’ll track my purchase. I filed a claim and also a general support ticket. They responded to the support ticket saying I have to activate the phone, then I will get the $35. I refuse to give Virgin Mobile another penny of my money, so I guess I’ll suck it up and eat the $12.95 I spent, along with the $12.95 my husband spent. Will toss the useless phones in the trash so I won’t have the reminder around of how stupid I was to trust this deal. I blame Virgin Mobile for most of the mess, but I also blame TopCashback for the lack of tracking.

      • fawn

please dont toss the phones my husband actually uses one and they are super cheap so they break easy. I fyou are not goig to do anything with them I would gladly take them off your hands. If you are willing to ship them to me I will send you a check for shipping. please email me for my address. fcammans84@gmail.com. Thanks

        • LT

          I’m emailing you.

      • Bethany

Also I think some organization collect old phones! You could donate it somewhere and think of your $13 as a donation!

      • Jennifer Day

Please donate, never throw away anything, your trash is always someone’s treasure!

      • TopCashback Support

        Hi Gayla,

We have experienced a large number of successful tracked transactions for this offer and any of these tracked transactions will be honored, regardless of activation. However, we have decided to extend our Fair Play policy to refund the purchase price of the phone to those members who have had no transaction show whatsoever. As you may be able to imagine, this will come direct from our own pockets as nothing will be paid for by Virgin here unfortunately, but we do feel this is the best step forward. If you could send proof of your purchase to contact@topcashback.com, we will happily get this sorted in your account for you.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

    • Kaylene

Mine never posted but my husbands did – looks like we are out of luck by the email though (unless you plan to activate it)

      • fawn

No they are saying no matter what you do with the phone they will pay out but then only get paid if people activated the phone but they are paying out of their pocket no matter what.

        • Kaylene

As long as it posted to your account – mine did not post & I had to file a missing cash back claim, so I’m assuming those who had to do that will not get that money.

          • irelandsunshine

It posted correctly to my account and then they took it down like it never existed. They are now telling me that my transaction never went through when I have proof that it did. I actually saved a screenshot of the pending claim. Now when I log on, it’s gone. They aren’t trying to save any customers. If they were, they would fix it for everyone. There terms Collin posted are very vague. Someone is choosing to delete the pending $35 for various accounts as well as the original transactions that were made. It posted to my account and then they deleted it. This is just wrong. Sometimes you have to fight for what is right.

            • S

Mine disappeared also after I saw it in the pending. I am going back and forth with them over it. I even screen captured the tracking graphic that pops up.

            • Sara

              Mine disappeared as well !!!

      • TopCashback Support

        Hi Kaylene,

If yours hasn’t posted at all, can you send some proof of purchase through to contact@topcashback.com? We’ll be able to refund the purchase price of this to you, unless you also have some proof of activation? If so, we’d then be able to honor the full $35.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

    • Carol_R

I’ve only done 2 deals on it so far and both came up pending right away. I did the Downy fabric softener at Target for $5 and the Virgin Mobile deal for $35. I have $40 pending in my account.

    • TopCashback Support

      Hi Jamie,

I am sorry that your transaction hasn’t posted at all here. As you have lodged a claim already, our Claims team will be in touch directly via this in your account with further information, and we apologize again for this situation.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  4. Tarri

    Very nice of them.

  5. michellini

Yes but mine never posted correctly so they told me that I have to get it activated to get the 35.00 back, even though I did it correctly.

    • TopCashback Support

      Hi michellini,

We are sorry if your transaction hasn’t posted. If you don’t see any record of it at all, can you forward us some proof of purchase and/or activation to contact@topcashback.com so we can get this finally resolved for you?

We are sorry for any confusion this situation has caused.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  6. Patty

Wow…huh. I have been watching my rebate wondering. I am thankful for topcashback. Wondering about Virgin Mobile though.

  7. Renata

This is beyond generous of TopCashback! Thank you for making the decision to stand by the offer that was displayed.

    • LT

I agree, more generous than they have to be in my experience.

  8. Linda

I’m glad they are backing what they put up on the site and think Virgin Mobile should do the same so topcashback doesn’t lose out because of what Virgin Mobile did. I, however, will not use topcashback again because my husband and I have both been unable to access our accounts (it says they both don’t exist and there is no reason we should have been locked out) since this happened almost 2 weeks ago and they haven’t responded to my 2 emails I’ve sent as well as told me to contact them through their site (which I did twice already) when I messaged their page on Facebook.

    • shirley

same here, Topcashback gives me lots of trouble to contact them, so far my account is still locked out without any reason.

    • TopCashback Support

      Hi Linda,

I’m sorry if you haven’t had a response here. I’ll happily take a look into this for you in more detail though. I’m afraid I can’t locate the email you sent from right here, so would you be able to send me an email to contact@topcashback.com? I’ll make sure this is picked up and looked into for you.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  9. Andrew

My respect to Top Cash Back and thumbs down to Virgin Mobile.

  10. Ari

My husband and I also did this deal. It never posted so I’m guessing TopCashback won’t honor the deal for us. We do have emails from them saying we “clicked through”, however . Also, it’s too late to return the phones because Virgjn says it had to be within 14 days from the order date. That’s tomorrow:(

    • TopCashback Support

      Hi Ari,

I’m really sorry if yours or your Husband’s transactions did not post at all. This does happen across all merchants from time to time and we did see a large number of successful ones posted for this offer, but I apologize if you were both affected.

As Virgin Mobile won’t be honoring any of this cashback to us unless the phones are activated, we have taken the decision to pay our members for the inconvenience of this situation. We’re also extending our Fair Play policy to those who’s transactions did not post at all, if proof of purchase is shown. If you could get in touch via contact@topcashback.com we’ll happily take a look for you.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  11. Caitlin

That’s how you do customer service!

  12. tam childers

Mine never posted i lost out on this deal too! Happy they trying to do the right thing but i wont be using them again.

    • TopCashback Support

      Hey tam childers,

If you haven’t already lodged a missing cashback claim for this offer, could you send us an email in to contact@topcashback.com? We’ll happily take a look at this for you and should be able to get you a resolution.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  13. Chelsey

As an idea if you don’t want the phones. I know there are various drop off sites or even places that will send you a prepaid mailer to mail the phones. They often go to veterans or low income families. At least then it doesn’t just go in the garbage. 🙂

  14. arlene

Very happy, they resolved my issue when it had mysteriously “disappeared” after I lodged a claim new it is back pending. I will wait to see now when it becomes payable. Thank you 🙂

  15. Krista

That’s very nice of TCB to do that. Thanks for letting us know, Collin. Sad for Virgin Mobile though; it makes it impossible for me to trust them, knowing they don’t honor their offers.

  16. fawn

ANYONE who is going to just toss the phones away I would gladly take them. Please email me and I will give you my address and pay for shipping.
    fcammans84@gmail.com

    • Oo

So you can resell and make some cash? Not a chance but good try!

      • fawn

actually NO!!! no need to be rude. I am no way that kind of a person if you must know my husband, brother, and mother inlaw ALL USE THESE PHONEs they are very cheap and break very EASY. I am legally blind and stay at home with 2 small kids. If and when my husbands phone breaks it is nice to have a back up do to the fact he is the ONLY DRIVER IN MY HOME. and it makes us both feel much better for me to be able to contact him at a moments notice in case something happens with our children!! No need to be rude didn’t your parents teach you if you can’t say anything nice dont say anything at all??

        • Sam

They are on sale at Best Buy for about 7 bucks.
Shipping is about the same so I’d suggest you stock up at Best Buy
          for your family.
I’ll donate mine to a charity for a tax deduction!

      • Jennifer Day

like everyone else who bought these, it was a money maker….so what’s the difference of who profits? besides if its just going into the garbage, why not allow someone to benefit from it?

        • fawn

Sam, Great. I just don’t want to see them go to waste when there are people out there who can and will use them. no use filling our landfill with a working device. That was my plan if a lot of people responded. (minus the tax deduction) Like I said they are cheap phones but being able to call 911 is priceless. I just get frustrated when there is unnecessary negativity towards what is truly an innocent and honest action request.

So Oo, you prefer to throw the phone in the trash that to give it away? Who cares if the person is reselling it and making some money!? That is like saying you prefer to throw aluminium cans in the regular trash so that no one can redeem them and make some cash…

    • laura wyatt

      I emailed you

      • fawn

        thank you

        • Dick

I’ll give you 5 bucks to write the BBB and put the phone in the garbage!

          • fawn

I do feel the BBB should and will be contacted but that being said being able to dial 911 in an emergency is worth way more then bad customer service. I really do hope people do with these phones what they intended to do before bad service go involved. And if there intention was to just throw them away anyways well that sucks because despite the fact that electronics run some many of our lives there are still a ton of people who do not have that life line. for example I may not of had to bury my aunt 2weeks ago had my grow cousin had a phone, with no other service needed, but to dial 911. So yes contact the BBB but don’t fill our landfills with something that can truly save someones life.

          • Rebe

Dick, phones have components that are very harmful for the environment. Throwing away working gadgets is irresponsible and ignorant.

  17. gaby

The phone I bought was needed for my mom so it’s not a loss to me if they don’t give me the $35. That’s why I try to only do deals if I need the item or I’m okay if I lose money.

  18. Cannielle

I was on the fence of switching to Virgin Mobile, hehe, NO MORE.

  19. shop4mybabies

please consider donating all of these phones to a womens shelter of domestic violence outreach program. a cell phone to dial 911 could save a woman and or her childs life

    • bobbi

Don’t hold your breath people, THE $35 HASN’T HAPPENED YET!
I will never trust Virgin Mobile or Topcashback!
TopCashBack makes a fortune not paying out on legetimate purchases
that they say were not tracked. They are not losing a dime on what some are saying is
      “very nice of them” !

      • Jennifer Day

I’ve received everyone of my offers, TCB has been awesome but then I haven’t complained or been rude to them and seems some might have been. Being nice gets you further.

      • TopCashback Support

        Hi bobbi,

I completely understand your frustration here, and hope that you will go on to use the site again. I’d like to reassure you that the advertised cashback is paid for by the merchants. We pass the full 100% of what is received to our members, so we make no money from this. If a transaction hasn’t tracked, understandably in regular situations we can’t pay out on them, (unless the merchant approves a claim) as we have not received any amount for them.

Unfortunately in this situation we won’t be receiving any amount from Virgin unless activation has happened, so by honoring the cashback here, we will be significantly losing out. We do feel this is completely the right thing to do though, so please be assured the cashback will be paid shortly if it has tracked in your account. If there’s no sign of it at all, you are more than welcome to send proof of purchase and/or activation to contact@topcashback.com and we will resolve this for you.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

  20. Caroline

I feel we should all together do something to Virgin Mobile. Let them know it’s not fair to treat their customers. They can’t do business like that!!!

    • irelandsunshine

I’m right there with you, Caroline. I plan on sending a letter with a copy of the original deal to Virgin Mobile’s Corporate as well as Topcashback’s corporate. Sometimes you have to keep fighting for what is right. Someone at Topcashback is changing our accounts and the wording. One minute I had the $35 in my account and then it was gone and then I had the proof that my transaction went through and now when I log in, it’s gone like it never happened. Please use Ebates. They KNOW how to treat their customers right. Their cashback may not always be the highest, but I would rather have great customer service than deal with no customer service.

      • Tami

Ebates pays less but they don’t screw with their customers!

I’m impressed. That was generous of them.

  22. Noel

I did not participate in this offer … I personally was in the fence about the “activation” requirement, although it said it was not necessary. (Just seemed a little too good to be true.) However, I like TopCashback! I have had ZERO issues with any of my five transactions! *knock on wood* Everything has tracked perfectly to pending and then final approval/cashback.

    • Rebe

Same here! I have had only good experiences with them and I also did NOT bother with this deal because it sounded too good and it was unclear.

  23. dp

i cant login in my account can someone send me the screenshot of the off at 4cgacpa@gmail.com, much appreciated…thanx

    • TopCashback Support

Hey dp, not sure if you’ve done this already but could you send an email to contact@topcashback.com about this? We’ll make sure this gets looked into for you.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  24. Tanya

They need to pay out to everyone that can prove with a receipt that they bought a phone.
Who’s to say they didn’t make a deal with Virgin. They are getting paid and will
    keep most of the money!
These people are thieves, don’t let this so called generous posting from
TopCashback cloud your vision of who they really are!

    • TopCashback Support

      Hey Tanya,

I just want to reassure you that we are not getting paid anything from Virgin Mobile for any of these transactions, unless a phone has gone on to be activated. We don’t make money on individual cashback offers like this, as the full 100% of what is offered and paid for by the merchant is passed on to our members, not kept for ourselves.

We do appreciate this is a frustrating situation and have extended our Fair Play policy in honoring this deal to those members with completely untracked or declined transactions. If you can provide us with proof of purchase (to contact@topcashback.com) we will happily refund the price you paid for the phone. If you have also gone on to activate it and can show us this, we can honor the full $35 to your account.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

  25. bobbi

Can these be charged and used for 911 calls without activation?

    • Ashley57

Yes – all cell phones can always be used to call 911. Something great to do with this phone would be to charge it, turn it off, and then put it in your trunk under the lining. If you are ever thrown in your trunk, you have a cell phone to call 911.

      • bobbi

LOL–good idea..I end up in the trunk all the time!

      • Rachel

Omg i am hysterically laughing …I have tears running down my face. hilarious ! Totally needed that laugh! 🙂

  26. Pat

I am still waiting on getting paid for all the other orders that I purchased. Has anybody ever got paid for what they purchase yet?

    • fawn

This is the ONLY offer I have ever had any troubles with I have gotten paid for everything I buy through them and rather quickly also.

    • Jamie

I’ve had to chase down every single one! Not a single deal I’ve done has tracked. I don’t think I will be using TCB anymore. A bunch of crooks!

  27. Pat

I have one of three that is marked as payable but nothing has been done yet. It is confusing.

  28. BB

They took money out of my account. I think that should be proof enough that I made a purchase.

  29. Kaden

Thank you for sharing as I received the same email early this morning.
I also still have very mixed feelings on all of this. I am at least Thankful to TopCashback people as they could have tossed all of us to the curb with the trash as Virgin Mobile is doing, but they are being professional and caring in their response to all of us who joined them and/or bought a phone from Virgin Mobile for the deal they offered.

I am one of the lucky ones who had my purchase posted back to my account after it had been removed so I understand how frustrating all of this is for all of us. I made my purchase on 9/20, and it says my $35 cashback should be paid in 3 weeks so I guess most of us have 1 more week until we really know for sure if they are going to pay.

Topcashback replied directly here to the original deal posting so maybe they will post again if that will help more people feel better about what’s going on. I appreciate them being forthcoming in information and saying they will make good on payment of cashback even though Virgin Mobile is now shafting them as well as many of us.

I do know that I will Never again be a customer of Virgin Mobile. I did buy my cell phone to be used as I have been a Virgin Mobile customer, but I no longer will remain as one. I would like to activate this new phone so Topcashback gets paid as well, but I am still thinking on this as I do Not want to give Virgin one more penny or any more business by doing so. I will now try to take my time in the future before I proceed to let an overly attractive cashback offer blind me into jumping too fast into customer mode and I’ll better listen to what my grandma used to say about if something sounds too good to be true…

  30. Griselda

so all we need to do is activate it to get our money, it does not say that we need to add money to it. we can just activate it and get a phone number and not top up. do you guys think that would work.

    • Tami

I wonder, and then simply cancel?

  31. April

Im glad I didnt do this deal sucks topcashback will be losing all this money over phones that wont even be used.

    • Bonnie

I assure you they will not loose money, they have already figured this out!
And almost all of us will be the losers!
Ripoff report, Better Business Bureau, States Attorney General will
work for me just fine! They can stick the phone!!!!!!!!!

Cleary they will be losing money cause Virgin Mobile is saying they didn’t agree to give away thousands of phones for nothing and since when has anyone heard of a phone company paying you to take a phone that you dont even have to activate. Top cash back seems to be screwing Virgin Mobile and the consumer who signed up for this deal and passing the blame. They will and should loss money for their actions. Companies in business to make profit especially cell phone companies normally require some type of activation free or signing of a contract they never just pass out cellphones with no restrictions.

      • TopCashback Support

        Hey Bonnie,

We were not given any indication that activation was required until the promotion had ended. This will have caused upset and we are sorry for that. Previously offers have been in place on site, not necessarily for Virgin, where activation was not required and so we did believe we placed the offer correctly for the information given.

We have done our best in working with Virgin Mobile to resolve this but have not been able to get the resolution we first hoped for with no money being paid to us unless activation has happened. That being said, we are still honoring the offer out of our own pockets as part of our Fair Play policy. We will make a significant loss here but I assure you we do put our members first and although the offer did not run as we had hoped, we hope that you feel this outcome is fair regardless of any loss to ourselves.

        Many thanks,
        TopCashback Support

We should all write the complaint on BBB and sent massive angry letter to both virgin mobile and topcashback.

This is the complaint regarding to virgin mobile promotion on topcashback.com website on september 20th. The original promotion stated that we can chose to buy any phone they have listed (include the samsung entro flip phone) and we will get 35$ cashback to use as we please (we can chose to use that money to activate or not). Today I learn that virgin mobile is not honoring the promotion and claiming that it will only give cashback if the customer activate the phone. Also topcashback is claiming that they cannot do anything if the merchant (virgin mobile) refuse to honor the deal. I want my 35$ or the cost of my phone back. Also please don’t say return it. IF the virgin mobile will pay for return shipping I will gladly return the phone (as it only worth $13.07 and shipping itself will cost me more than or at least half of that money). They are Thieves, if I known they would not honor the deal, i would not bought it. Also, I refer it to my sister and she bought it one too. Now we both lost our money. CROOK. Both Virgin mobile and Topcashback should be sue and shut down from unethical practice.
The end resolution, please give me 35$ or at least the full $13.07 back with free return. I hope both company will work together and solve this problem. This will going to cost you a lot of customers as many who bought this phone are refer by many popular blog.

Hi Dang, Hopefully you’ve seen the main post on this thread. We’ll be paying the $35 if you have a tracked transaction. If not, I’ll need some more information over to contact@topcashback.com (proof of purchase or proof of activation ideally) and we’ll make sure that you don’t lose out. Many thanks, TopCashback Support

  33. Andi

Could not have said it better.

    Bunch of thieves!

    • TopCashback Support

      Hey Andi,

I’m really sorry you feel this way. If your transaction has tracked as expected, the $35 will be paid by ourselves regardless of whether you’ve activated or not. If it has been declined by the merchant, or hasn’t tracked at all though, we will still be able to resolve this. We’ll happily refund the cost you paid for the phone if you could forward over a proof of purchase to contact@topcashback.com. If you have gone on to activate this after all and can show us this, we’ll happily honor the full $35.

      Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support

Doesn’t anyone DONATE anymore? No one will be a so-called loser if everyone contacts them in a professional manner, mistakes happen, everyone makes them, even you!! TCB is being fair and they will fix things if you ASK NICELY and keep following up on things. I don’t get why some of you are all upset over what WAS or IS still a good deal and that TCB is honoring it still.

If you don’t want to activate it, donate it and take the tax deduction and then feel good about your donation decision instead! 🙂 Happy Friday!

    • Lydia

      Indeed!

  35. jenny

Mine still says pending but these are called the “Obama phones” they can be used with the low income/free assurance wireless, I bought it for a friend who just had a baby and cant afford a regular cell phone so if you aren’t going to use them by all means donate, we have a local women shelter that also collects these type of phones for the women that stay there, this was my very first experience with topcashback.

    • Republican

Leave it to the liberals to get more free stuff!
Obama phones Just like Obama Care both a waste of tax payers money!

      • Rebe

And just in case, you signed as “Republican”, LOL!

  36. Virginia

    Checked TCB account.
Pending is gone and so is the Virgin Mobile clicked.
Never received an email as stated above.
They are gonna figure out a way to STEAL this money from us arn’t they?

    • TopCashback Support

Hi Virginia, this seems strange- members have tracked transactions which will be paid at $35 and we know of some who have untracked or cancelled transactions which we can help on too. I’d like to have a look at your account if that’s ok? Can you send in a support ticket or email contact@topcashback.com? Many thanks, TopCashback Support

  37. Emi

    Sold on Ebay for $25
    TCB can stick it.

  38. jes1sie

Thank you so much for posting the deal and for sharing the letter. Love your site

  39. Sam

TCB should tell everyone that bought it to return the phone to Virgin Mobile since they are the one who will be paying the cash back anyway. why let virgin benefit for this?

  40. Jarod

I have always been leery of all these cash back sites but you all summed it up, this is shady of tcb and there clearly only doing this because hip2save has alot of clout, otherwise we all would be s.o.l. There should no more postings about tcb here anymore.

    • TopCashback Support

Hi Jarod, we have a ‘fair play policy’ which you can see on site. This is at the core of what we do and I can assure you that we’ll always try to do what’s best for members. I hope you can give us a little more of a chance and I’m sure you’ll enjoy using the site after doing this. If you made a Virgin Mobile transaction and it tracked you’ll see this move to payable soon. Many thanks, TopCashback Support

Let this be a lesson, VM is not customer friendly. The service will cut of for no reason, they charge you for minutes that are used checking your voicemail from another phone, and your data will be throttled. This is a horrible company, with zero customer service. When you contact customer service they refuse to assist on the most basic of queries. If you are looking to save money look into other carriers…VM might work for a tween….but it is horrible for more than an emergency contact. I am a former VM customer.

  42. Cass

TCB has ALWAYS done right by me. They have always done everything in their power to right any issues I have had. I had one order that didn’t track correctly but turns out it was simply delayed which was the store’s fault, not TCB’s. I also had an offer where the company refused to pay. TCB payed me out of their own pocket despite the fact that the company agreed that the offer was posted correctly and I ordered the items necessary to earn cash back. If your order didn’t track, you didn’t do something correctly. Also, they aren’t obligated to pay you unless they are paid. They are doing this bc they want their customers happy so being angry with them is silly. Be angry at Virgin Mobile. They are the guilty party here.

  43. Mike

So in my account it says $35 on pending and nothing under confirmed. Do I still get the $35 from TCB?

    • TopCashback Support

Hi Mike, you’ll get this :). We’ll update to confirmed and payable really soon. Many thanks, TopCashback Support

  44. Tami

I did get this email, and it shows as pending but also says action on my part is pending do I need to file something. Guess this one a bad one to try as my first!! THANKS

  45. DK

Notified TCB that it does not show as pending(they know exact time of
transaction) they emailed back they would correct it – as of now no action
    on their end

    • TopCashback Support

Hi DK, did you lodge a missing cashback claim? Our claims team will be updating you there shortly. If not, please get in touch at contact@topcashback.com and I’ll take a look. Many thanks, TopCashback Support

My husband and I am not able to login, it says login has failed for both of us. Don’t know what to do. We already received our phones. What a waste of time…is anyone else having the same problem?

    • Linda

Same here! Don’t hold your breath on getting back in. My husband and I have been unable to log in since this happened and they won’t respond to my emails or and won’t help me on Facebook.

      • TopCashback Support

Hi Tina and Linda, I’m not sure what your specific cases are, but will be happy to review this. Can you email contact@topcashback.com? Many thanks,
        John

1000’s of complaints about TCB. Here are a few:

    TopCashBack:

This company is deceiving and doesn`t pay out cashback as promised. They blame merchants, delete records from users profiles, and buy time with polite responses in hope that it will be forgotten.
I am one of their victims who is fed up with their b.s. and am going to file a class action case. I previously told them that I`d file a complaint with Attorney General. At that time, I saw their address listed in MA (in Boston area). Now, I can`t find that address (possibly removed from the web?).
In any event, please post their address and join me if you are the one who is in the same shoes.

    TopCashBack.com
    3422 Old Capitol Trail #1701
    Wilmington, DE 19808
They have addresses in US and UK
Above is used by Better Business Bureau
    Also know as MediaNet Systems

I fully agree. My family members and myself collected in total several hundred and then, when I asked for payment to my Paypal account, they froze my TopCashBack account. No answer whatosver from their side. I fully agree with you, this company is FRAUD!

I wonder how many real people report fine service with TCB. Those crooks are notorious for writing positive reviews about themselves.

I agree-ebates is a reputable company, and now they even post the amount right away if there is a problem. Mr Rebates is very good to me, too, had some issues in the past, but they fixed it quickly, and I haven`t had any issues with them for a few years now.

Here is DE Attorney General link with instruction on how to file a complaint. It clearly covers deceptive practices by TopCashBack aka MediaNet Systems Ltd:
    https://attorneygeneral.delaware.gov/…omplaint.shtml

I am in Texas and am willing to be part of a class.
I did about 40 transactions with them and none posted over a 2 month period
I agree that TCB is a total scam.

    • irelandsunshine

Could you e-mail me the entire link to file the complaint? It didn’t come across on this page. Thank you. irelandsunshine@gmail.com I will definitely be filing a complaint. What they did is unethical!!!!

      • TopCashback Support

Hi Irelandsunshine, we’ve posted on previous posts of yours, but I understand that your transaction is reported as declined on our system. To be clear- if you can provide proof of purchase we’ll be happy to refund you the cost of the phone. If you can prove activation we’ll pay the full $35. Many thanks, TopCashback Support

    • TopCashback Support

Hi bibi, without knowing more about your particular case I can;t really advise here. I’d be happy to look into this though. Can you email in to contact@topcashback.com? Thanks, TopCashback Support

  48. debbielynne

My $35 is showing in my account, but it’s not yet payable. Thanks for posting about this so I have something to refer to if it doesn’t show as payable in the next 2-3 weeks as I didn’t get an email from them. I plan on donating the phone to a homeless shelter after I receive the payout.

    • TopCashback Support

Hi Debbie, You are welcome. We’ll get this paid up for you as soon as we can. Best Wishes, TopCashback Support

  49. RB

I just checked, and I have finally received the Tide Walmart offer from August. (Payable status, and I was able to do a payout, which then says it can take up to 14 days to be sent to my bank.)

    • April

Yep almost sounds like a ponzi scheme how they run this I will never be participating with top cash back.

    • Aly

Heard that if you select a paypal payment that they then cancel
the payment status. 14 days is a joke.
Keep your fingers crossed! This business is run by thieves,,,,,,,,,,,,

      • TopCashback Support

Hi Aly, I can assure you that that isn’t true. We process hundreds of dollars of Paypal payments and this would have no impact on the transaction status. Once payable, you’ll always be able to receive your payment. Regarding payment speed, we state 14 days as a back up in case we have any processing issues, but ACH would generally take 4 days, and Paypal often 24 hours. Many thanks,
        John

I did this deal and the Build Direct deal. I got screwed on both of those deals, so I am DONE with Top Cash Back. They advertise deals with companies, but when the demands exceeds expectation, they wanna back pedal.

    SMH.

    • TopCashback Support

Hi Chelsea, I understand that there were issues with Build Direct too, but you should have been paid some cashback for this. I’d be happy to have a look at this for you if you wish to get in touch by support ticket or contact@topcashback.com. For the Virgin Mobile transaction, could you include your situation on there? Is the transaction untracked? Many thanks,
      TopCashback Support
