   I purchased a couple of these Melissa & Doug deals already, still pondering more, LOL. Anyway, I got the Melissa & Doug 60-Piece Standard Unit Blocks, they’re on sale for $34.99 (50% off list price) and I used my $30.00 gift card I just got from Amazon towards them (they never gave me the $30.00 discount off my S&S order like many of us were promised! Got on chat and was issue this instead) — my question is, are these worth it? I do have a small set of plain wooden blocks for my son that I got from Etsy, and he plays with them some but not much. I think maybe because he gets frustrated because they fall down easily whenever he builds something, unlike Duplo where everything connects together. These Melissa & Doug blocks got such high ratings and are a great deal right now, and they also look bigger than the ones we have, so I went ahead and ordered them hoping he’ll enjoy these more. My son turns 4 in February, for reference. Does anyone have these for their kids and are they worth it?

  Yes! The unit blocks are really heavy and sturdy. We’ve had our set for years and the kids love playing with them. Totally worth the $35 I would say.

  I bought these for my daughter when she was four and she loved them. She still plays with them and now my 20 month old “helps” build things too. Worth every penny. They are sturdy blocks and good on carpeted floors. These have held up remarkably well and I would purchase them again for a gift.

  Thanks girls! That makes me feel better. The reviews on them are awesome and blocks are such a staple toy for kids, I just wasn’t sure if they would actually get played with or just sit in the box and make me think I should have spent the money on something else. Also great to hear that they work well on carpet, I’m hoping the larger size of these will make them easier to work with and more appealing!

  These blocks are one of the best toys I’ve ever purchased, you can’t go wrong. There’s something about getting back to basics that’s really nice! I ordered a second set, quality is great. Hope you like them! 🙂

   I have TWO sets of those blocks for my 4 children. They will last for generations and have a really high play value! 🙂
