Around how much does ink cost for a printer like this?
~ $60 on Amazon. The ink is more money, however, it will last MUCH longer than an inkjet cartridge. You will get well over 2,000 pages on a single cartridge. If you are using it for mostly coupons you can easily get over ~2,700 pages with 3 coupons to a page. Laser printers are well worth it – for this price and good ratings – I say go for it.
I don’t own this but that site and Amazon comments say ink is expensive tho one said generic is $30

Any idea how this stacks ( cost wise) with staples Black Friday printer? Got an unopened one and wondering if I should do this instead.
I just read in the questions that it doesn’t have wireless, only USB connection.
But I also read in the reviews on Staples…Though it’s not wireless, it can be plugged into wireless routers with usb and still be networked with multiple computers easily.
So I think I might order it. I can just plug it into the router which is in the same room with me.
I also read in those reviews that it will work with a Mac, that you just have to find the right driver. This is the review about that in case it helps someone:
First off, this printer does work with Mac’s, it is just a trial to figure out where to find the correct driver. Overall the printer is great, I’m just glad I gave it one more day of searching to figure out the driver download before we packed it up to return it. It took me several days to find the correct driver that worked with my iMac. Why I had to download the driver (CAPT VER 366) from a UK site was a puzzle. I hope it still works after the Yosemite system upgrade.
This is a traditional USB (not wireless) printer. I’m a high-volume eBay seller and print a lot of coupons. I bought this printer 16 months ago and just replaced the toner for the first time. The toner costs $89. However, when you divide $89 by 16 (months) that’s WAY less than I was paying for inkjet refills. This is a great printer! I paid $100 for mine and thought that was a good deal.
Wow? The toner is $89?! Where can I find some cheaper ones and still print good quality coupons??
Did you read my next comment, though? I only had to replace it after 16 months. That figures out to be about $5.56 per month of use. Toner is usually more expensive than injket because you replace it less. I was spending a lot more than $5.56/month with inkjet! 😀

Here is a site I use to buy my printer ink and I found the toner for $32.95 there. With the price of this printer and the cheaper ways to get toner, this is a really great deal. I picked one of these printers up for myself and will use this site to get my toner refills since it’s the cheapest I’ve found online.

89 for toner is cheap. My printer takes 4 toner cartridges. Won’t work if one Low. And they are 139 each. But I get thousands upon thousands of prints compared to inkjet
Does the ink cartridge come with the printer???
On office depot’s website it says a starter capacity cartridge is included. Not sure if that applies to here though?
I bought mine from Staples online and it did come with a toner. The starter ones are not as high-yield as a regular toner, however.

An alternative to this printer: I bought a Canon ImageCLASS LBP6030W Laser Printer on staples.com recently and I love it! Got it for $49.99, it’s small in size (can fit on top of my desk), comes with a toner cartridge, connects via WiFi, and is compatible with Macs.
For those that are wondering about the price of the toner, I found the toner on a site that I use to purchase my printer ink for my current printer. It’s $32.95 for the toner refill. It is an off brand and I’ve always purchased off brands as they are cheaper and work just the same. Here’s the link:

It was a shell shocker deal which usually only lasts a few hours to a day at the most. The deal is over with. It’s still a good deal for $59.99 though.

Never had good luck with Canon printers. If looking for an inexpensive laser printer, go with a Brother. Office Depot, Staples, etc will run sales periodically where you can get it for$69 or so.
