I do a generic birthday card with the kids pics and the year on the back. They run this special every year.
If I have a favorite photo, I start stockpiling custom Christmas cards. January is a bit early for the photo to be current unless the kids are much older, or the photo is of an adult/couple/pets. I don’t worry about all my friends/family receiving the exact same card.

It is better to do this when ordering Shutterfly cards for free…you can order all 10 at once for $5.99 or order them in smaller increments for cheaper–order 4 with 99 cents shipping. Then order another 4, and then order 2. You will pay just around $3 this way. You may be able to add CARD4U code to last batch to get an extra…and you will still be at $3.
