I find myself not using those offers more often than using them because it takes SO long to compile a book… does anyone have similar thoughts on the subject?
Same here but I figured out to store photos on my computer in separate folders and build up a folder that I would like to have a book made with. Totally simplified things.

I start making multiple books before I get promos for them. Then once an offer like this is sent out, I already have the book project complete.
I feel the same way as intchina but this is a great idea.
I recently made a book to use the code that expired at the end of March…
I plan to use this new code to order the same book for someone else ( it’s a sisters book for my daughters); and if I get another code, I will reorder it for my mother in law.
Additionally, whenever I make anything on Shutterfly, I also spend a few extra minutes prepping for a book and continually save the changes. So, when I get new codes, I don’t have to do that much work in one sitting to get a book completed.
Inchina, I hear you. It always seems to take longer than I think it should to make a book. But one way I simplify is to use the digi-scrap option on Shutterfly. I use Becky Higgins’ Project Life app ( currently available for iphone & ipad – android is still in the works), and I create photo collages which are each saved as jpgs on my computer. Then I upload the jpgs just like I do with my regular photos. Each collage makes a page. To make a Shutterfly 8×8, 10×10, or 12×12 you would need a total of 22 collages, which includes front and back covers to make a 20 page book.

yes, I end up a working on these late at night, my only quiet time. My strategy for streamlining the process is to first gather all the photos I want to use (from multiple devices and people, this can take a while!), then put them in one folder for easier uploading to Shutterfly. For me, that is half the process. I make books in advance so I can not miss out on a freebie offer with a short expiration date just because I was too busy that particular weekend to work on it.

They can be combined. The bag was a promo, and the book is a dollar reward. You can use multiple promos on an order, but only one dollar reward.
