Mark your calendar! On Saturday, August 1st, from Noon-3PM, select Verizon TCC (The Cellular Connection) locations will be giving away a FREE backpack filled with school supplies – limit one per child. Keep in mind that the child must be present to receive a backpack. Be sure to call your local store ahead of time to verify participation in this program.

Thank you, this isn’t relevant here but will you please ask people to not go to the stores and hoard all the good deals?
I went to buy some school supplies and a backpack from office max and the store managers of all the stores in our town said that teachers came in and spent 100$ of dollars and cleaned them out in the first couple hours.
Its nice to donate, but there others who may not be so poor as to get a donation but they still need these good deals, why they follow this blog.
Please keep in mind some people won’t take handouts they want to do it themselves and these deals help people do that. Thanks!
You can ask the manager to tell u when the next shipment to come. Then call and ask them to hold items if possible. Or price match to a different store.
Wow! Never heard of that! Of course I have seen stores out of some products when a good deal is going on but all the stores in the town? Can anybody do that? Isn’t there a limit per person even for teachers?
Yes they can! I had paid for the backpack online with instore pickup and the store manager called me to tell me that they had sold out and would have to cancel my order. He sounded upset that the teachers came in a took all of their stock the first day ( not only with that but other items on sale) online there was a limit but apparently no in the store.
Manager should’ve pulled your backpack earlier when you ordered. Sounds like he was putting the blame on teachers to deflect blame off him. Not to mention the teachers “hoarding” all the good deals are buying for their class, usually out of their own pocket. They definitely need these deals since they’re taking care of so many kids.
This post got me to thinking so I googled “back to school giveaways” and variations thereof to identify other places that might be giving out supplies in my area….one resource that came up was United Way….they had a list of places around metro Atlanta that are giving away stuff. I know churches often give away supplies too. Just a thought.
Ask for a raincheck form. When the item comes in, you get the sale price as that is put on the form. I usually buy online & have it shipped. It’s usually free, but I’ve never paid more than $5 for shipping & I actually get my items.
Staples has their own brand of things that are equal quality at a generic price. Just a few tips. Hope they help! Good luck everyone!

I live in the Pittsburgh, PA area and I just called all of the stores in my area and everyone told me that they are not participating. I am so bummed. Check your local stores first like I did otherwise you maybe disappointed on August 1. 😢😢

You can click on the link and go to the site where it does a search. Nearest to me was over 50mi away so not really worth it. I’m a mean ol mama and make the kids use what we’ve got around more then brand new everything every year. I can’t afford it! Only one getting new stuff this year is the Kindergartner!

I’m a teacher, and I have been getting the weekly school supply deals. Teachers still have to stick the the limits that everyone else does. I think it’s rather rude to say that “teacher are hoarding it all”. When there are awesome deals, everyone wants them… Teacher or not!

Well that was useless. I called this morning at 9 to verify this information and a man was bery kind letting me know the supplies was not in yet to call again at noon. I did and another rude man answered stating they never arrived and were all sold and still adding people to the list to order more. I dont know why im so different i can not be added to the list. I would have went to the actuak store if it wasnt for the instructions frim yhe first man i spoke with. I can not afford a backpack for my brother
