      Thank you Traci! It didn’t work with the first email I tried, but it did work with another.

      After getting the $10 voucher I then went to EBATES and clicked through to LIving Social in order to earn 6%.

      Then I ordered the Sam’s Club membership and used the 15% off code. The only glitch I had was that I paid through Paypal and it used my husband’s name from the Paypal account for the voucher. No big deal since he would be on the Sams Club account with me anyway.

      I printed my voucher and plan to activate it today. I have read a lot of people saying it does that they add their moms name and so on but I won’t know 100% until I go to the store today and activate it myself.         I know you get an additional person on your membership and I am 99% sure it has to be someone else living in your household meaning they need to have proof they live there. It can be a driver’s license or a bill showing the name and address that matches the membership.

          I was added to my father in laws account and we don’t live together. When I bought this one I added my husband’s cousin. We don’t live together. We had no problems. Yes I currently have 2 memberships. A complimentary on a regular and I’m primary on a plus account. I only plan to use the plus for 1 year.

      I feel the same way about my cable company! They offer smoking hot deal to all new customers but don’t appreciate they loyal paying customers they already have. I know the feeling. I have read how a few people have got around doing this using a new email account and adding a mom and you and the second person on her card. Just an idea. I have read how people filp flop the main card holder each year getting a great renewal rate. Good luck. I plan to call my cable company and might take a break from them too if I have too now that we have prime we will survive with out cable 🙂

      someone posted before about splitting a membership with your mom or bff or whoever, and alternate every year who the primary person is and who gets the second card. maybe one way around the rule?

      I have been a member at Sam’s for at least 5 years. Every year, I buy one of these deals and go sign up for a “new” membership at the customer service desk. Their computer system apparently does not cross check the name, phone number, address, etc.

    The Plus membership includes optical purchases too! I just saved $50 on my glasses by purchasing my contacts at Sams as well. It was way cheaper than going to an eye doctors for glasses, etc. Something to consider and purchases in optical count towards the $10 for every $500 spent!

    If you wanted to add a household member to the membership so they get their own card, do they have to be with me when i activate my membership? i wanted to get one for my mother in law (we used their address when i signed up/billing info). I still have some IDs with their address on it.
