I think free shipping only works on cards, not your whole order.
They don’t care. They are totally taking advantage because of a mistake/glitch and then complain later in the year about the price of shipping for their free items. These are all the same people bragging about their huge free order even though in your account and email it states free shipping on cards. Sad really.
Shutterfly is a brilliant company. Do you think they don’t know the free shipping applies to everything? They have extended NEW ones since the first, and they continue to offer it. I have received free shipping in the past that applies specifically to an item, and only that item. They have the capability to do it. I have a feeling they like it this way. Just sayin.
Actually, I was not aware that the free shipping was only on cards. I added it to a cart that I already had started (considering I use Shutterfly often and pay for many items I recieve) and it removed the shipping. I resent the fact that Kaylee assumes she know me and that I am taking advantage of something. If Shutterfly e-mails me and requires me to pay shipping on my items, I gladly will because I have bought items from them before that are full price. I was not bragging about my “huge order” (which was actually 10 holiday cards and an ornament), I was simply thanking Colin for making me aware of the e-mail.

Shutterfly is HUGE. Those codes were put in months ago, so no, they don’t know because they get thousands of orders in a day. They won’t know, until annual report time. Do you think they go through every order and will know to cancel within 24 hours? Absolutely not. Just because the codes still keep coming, doesn’t mean they know anything because those were programmed SEVERAL months ago for the companies to distribute. Someone in it simply made a mistake and he or she will lose their job as well. And it clearly stated on the email AND in your account that it was on CARDS ONLY. SO using it for more is again, just going to hurt us in the long run. Because if you got $100 worth of free shipping PLUS your free items, multiply that by 10 people and then 100 and then thousands. Because you jumped for joy over your big score and then others did the same. That’s a lot of money. Big company or not, that’s a lot of money.

Someone even said they had $265 in free items and saved $200 in shipping costs and paid like 49 cents. A company is not going to like that.

Why don’t you step away from the computer and go on about your day! Think happy thoughts, rainbows & unicorns. The co’s that are giving us these codes, PAY that shipping TO Shutterfly, so they aren’t losing as much as you think.
A lot of companies give away free items for tax write offs at the end of the year. Also a lot of the free stuff sounds like they are probably getting money for advertising since many of the codes are coming from different companies. I’m sure Shutterfly makes a good profit since their products are such good quality!

Just drop it, kaylee. I am pretty sure everyone here is an adult. So lets go ahead and act like it. Let everyone make their own choices and quit wasting your time (and ours) with attacking peoples ethics. If you don’t like it, don’t do it. Simple as That.

You know it is on cards only. Look in your account when you put it in. It will say that. Using it for anything else is just going to hurt all shutterfly customers in the long run. But I remember your comments in the past, you have abused it. I hope you don’t do it again and make us all pay for you greed.
Who are you talking to? I am using it on cards. I use the ornament cards as name tags for my packages. I already have a $20 off cards so did not use the card one she provided because someone else may need it. You are welcome to step off of your high horse anytime.
Also, for those who have used it on other items… I’m pretty sure that if shutterfly had a problem with it or intended for it to be used differently, they would have adjusted it by now. This is a large company – they can make those kinds of adjustments within 24hrs and cancel orders. I have not seen or heard of either and these promotions have been going on for the last week and a half.
If you feel the need to not use any discount codes, that is fine. But please stop attacking other people. This should be a happy place – not one condemning others (for things you only assume).

Ummm actually we won’t all pay because we all have a choice. If you don’t like if Shutterfly’s prices go up then don’t order from them simple as that. Don’t blame other people for the Company’s mistake they can fix it if they want to.
And what you failed to mention in any of your rants is all the orders they are getting because they offered all these deals. I recently found a new site to order personalized things that I like better. However, since I got a few deals I ended up ordering all my stuff through Shutterfly. An order that would never have happened without the incentive they sent out.
So unless you are the CEO of Shutterfly don’t make such ridiculous statements. And if you are the CEO of Shutterfly shame on you for trolling a blog where so many people use your products.
Wow. You must be in the world of rainbows and unicorns if you think the companies that gave you the code are going to pay for shipping. So if Collin gave every one of her email subscribers a code for a free magnet and free shipping on that magnet and someone accidently put it in the system wrong and it gave you free shipping on all your items instead of how it stated on the email, you would expect Collin to pay the shipping on all of your items? She would lose her business, her house and everything she owns if thousands did that to her. Just sayin. People are taking advantage and you should think of everyone involved and not just the big score you got. Someone is going to take a huge hit. And ultimately I believe it will be people that love shutterfly and end up with higher prices. And all these offers will come to an end in the coming years because of the abuse. And you guys are jumping all over me because you feel you need to justify why you abused your codes and feel it is right because some company is going to pay for it. We see what has happened to couponing over the years and this is why. All I am stating is what people have done to abuse these codes is not right. Someone will have to pay in the end. That’s it for me because obviously people that take advantage of things feel it is right and get mad when someone calls them out on it.

You are comparing apples to oranges. I highly doubt Collin would lose her blog, house etc if a code glitched. These companies most likely have agreements with Shutterfly and probably tax write offs that neither you nor I are privy to.
I ordered cards, shopping bag, ornament and the wrapping paper the other day and I was wondering why my total was so low. Didn’t realize til I read on another site the card/shipping code was applying to the entire order. So what am I supposed to do? Not my fault the shipping was covered. And believe me, shutterfly is well aware of how codes are working. Several deals over the summer glitched where shipping was included and the code was pulled within a few hrs. IT can easily fix the program to stop applying shipping on everything but the cards.
I’m so excited!! I got free shipping. So can all the codes that are free, do they ship free too?

Someone may have asked this already but can you redeem a bunch of offers at once?
Maria, you can only redeem one “dollar reward” code (like $20 off) at any time but you can redeem most “promo codes” (magnets, calendars, placemats, etc) at the same time. Shutterfly did just change what is a “dollar reward” though so some items like calendars are showing up that way.

If you have the codes in your account, there will be a category called “Dollar Rewards” listed and those are the ones where you can only use ONE per order. 🙂
