Easy Dinner Rolls

Do you have dinner rolls on your holiday menu? Try this easy homemade version that requires just a few simple ingredients – this recipe is easy enough for beginner bread makers like me! Some have even said these rolls taste similar to the ones served at Texas Roadhouse. No stand mixer? No worries! Just follow the same instructions and knead by hand.

Easy Dinner Rolls Recipe

Recipe from ViewsfromtheVille

I packet active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3.5 cups All Purpose Flour
1.5 Tbs butter
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
Easy Beginner Dinner Rolls
Directions: In the bowl of a stand mixer, dissolve yeast with warm water. In the microwave, melt butter with milk and cool liquid until warm (not hot). To the milk/butter mixture, add sugar, salt, and egg. Pour into stand mixer bowl. Add two cups of flour and use dough hook to mix on low until combined. Add the rest of flour slowly and knead for a few minutes until dough forms. If too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time. Grease a separate bowl, add dough ball to it, and turn so it coats dough ball. Let dough rest, rise and double in size (this took about 45 minutes for me) Once dough has risen, roll into ball shapes and place in a greased pan.

Pictured is a 11×13 pan with 16 medium-large sized rolls. Let the rolls rest for another 15 minutes while oven is preheating to 350 degrees. Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until browned. If you are baking larger sized rolls, they made need to bake for 20-23 minutes. Brush with melted butter if desired.
