No app “combines” them. The apps just make them look like gift cards so you can try to use them in stores. YMMV.
Buy something and then return it. They’ll probably credit it to a normal gift card. I’m just guessing though

Another unlucky year. I have never had more than $10 and I usually have about 10 cards every winter. I had 10 cards this time and they were all for $10. Two of them were invalid when I tried checking online, and the customer service agent said they were worth $10. I think I am just extremely unlucky…lol. Oh well, I’ll use them towards bridesmaids gifts. 🙂
