How do I use my pantry credits? And how do
I see how many I have in my account ?

    • Aloha

They apply automatically. You have to contact Amazon customer service to find out how many you have. Or just add prime pantry items to your cart and see how many credits apply (limit 2 no-rush credits apply per order).

This Prime Pantry credit thing got me confused. Amazon didn’t really give much info so I read some customer discussions on Amazon to find out what’s up. It turns out a lot of people are frustrated with it as well. The top complaints seem to be that Amazon isn’t very clear on the terms and how to use the credit and that there is no way to keep track of your credit balance on the site. Anyway, I thought it might help to share here what I’ve found out:

    1. Once you get an email from Amazon regarding the credit, that means you can start using it. How to use it? Just add Prime Pantry items to your cart and your credit will automatically be applied at checkout.
    2. Amazon applies only ONE $5.99 credit per checkout. Even if you have received multiple credits, they will not stack in one checkout.
    3. There is nowhere on the site to check your balance. The only way to keep track of how many credits you’ve gotten is via the emails sent by Amazon so you might want to hang onto those until you’ve used up all your credits.
    4. Whenever you order from Prime Pantry, there is a $5.99 shipping fee. This is another major complaint as people pointed out that the whole point of having Prime is to get free shipping. So the $5.99 Prime Pantry credit you get from the No Rush Shipping option would just end up going towards shipping and therefore it is not possible to score free stuff with the “credit”. But what about the free shipping promo, you say??
    5. As mentioned in the post above, there is a promo right now for free shipping whenever you buy 4 eligible items. Let’s call this the FS promo to make it easier. A lot of people are wondering if you can use the $5.99 credit with the FS promo and possibly score free items. The answer is yes and no. YES, you can use the credit along with the FS promo but NO, it is not possible to end up not paying anything. I’ve been playing around with different configurations in my cart and I’ve found that THE CREDIT DOES NOT APPLY TO ITEMS THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE FS PROMO.

For example, using just the FS promo this is what my cart looked like (not including taxes and discounts to keep things simple):
    FS-eligible item worth $1.50 x 4 = $6
    Prime Pantry Shipping = $5.99
    = $11.99 – $5.99 (FS)
    TOTAL = $6
If Amazon applied the $5.99 credit, total should be almost zero.

Using both the FS and the $5.99 credit:
    FS-eligible item worth $1.50 x 4 = $6
    Any non-FS item/s worth $5.99
    Prime Pantry Shipping = $5.99
    = $17.98 – $5.99 (FS) – $5.99 (credit)
    TOTAL = $6

So you end up paying the same but you get more stuff with the 2nd scenario. Hope this helps. Sorry this got a bit too long!

Thank you for all of this information. Appreciate how you saved me this headache. Might just hold onto credit for a little while and see how Amazon remedies their promotion.

    • Faith

I didn’t know how this worked until I tried it, but here’s what I did and I feel pretty good about what I got for the price.

I just bought 4 items all on the “FS” promo –
2.69 (SOS steel wool pads 15ct)
      6.48 (Pringles snack stacks 18pk)
      3.57 (Finish Dishwasher Rinse Aid, 8.45oz) (-25%, .89)
      3.99 (Pop-Tarts 16ct)
      TOTAL 16.73
      +5.99 Prime Pantry Delivery
      -5.99 “FS” promo
-5.99 No-Rush Credit from previous Amazon purchase
      -.89 coupon savings
      TOTAL 9.85
      +.10 tax to be collected
      GRAND TOTAL 9.95 shipped

Two giant rolls of paper towels, 2 boxes Chex cereal (to make yummy homemade Christmas chex mix), scrubbing pads, Cheez, it (toasted), and splash water -free shipping and $5.99 no rush credit equals my Total-$7.20 (6 items) YAY!! Thanks Colin. You are the best. Also thanks Peachy your great post was very helpful.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! 😀

  7. Jen

Anyone know if the free shipping offer can be used more than once? I have 3 credits I’d love to use.

    • Aloha

Yes you can use it more than once
