It’s might be the order/time that you signed up. I signed up early in the morning for my line and have received the gift card already, but my husband signed up on his line/account Friday evening and he hasn’t got the giftcard yet.

I don’t think anyone is particularily mad they didn’t receive the gift card, it’s the fact that they provided their email addresses to be added to a subscribe list (and for the company to do whatever else with the addresses) and the company didn’t provide what was promised. Furthermore, when you click the ‘unsubscribe’ option in the email you receive this message: “You have been removed from Gyft / Target Promo.” So, you’re not even unsubscribed for the mailing list you signed up for. It’s a bait and switch; it’s shady and poor business sense.
Its about making fool of the customers by saying that we would give free igft card and make us subscriber. That is unethical.If we would be okay with it, more companies would use such tactics
People aren’t mad about the gift card. It’s the fact that the company lied. After giving an email address, they said they would send a gift card. A contest was never mentioned. If it had said this was a contest in the beginning, people would not be so mad. They scammed people, in order to get email addresses. People have a reason to be upset.

This is not Target’s fault, it was Essence Makeup who offered this deal. When has Target pulled a bait and switch?
I agree with you that this has nothing to do with Target, however I will say I have been victim to bait and switch by them. Last year they did a black Friday in July sale and I orderd a Cuisinart 8-cup food processor for around $37 shipped with red card savings and a promo code. I open the box when it arrives and it’s NOT Cuisinart, it’s a cheap brand called Conair Cuisine! I call Target CS (after reviewing my order confirmation to make sure I’m not going crazy and DID for sure order a cuisinart) and tell them they sent me the wrong item. The rep I talked to informed me they don’t stock any Cuisinart 8 cup processors (so basically the item advertised is not sold by Target), and said I can either keep the wrong item for a 15% discount or send if back for a refund. I decided to keep it for the extra discount but will be very wary to order from them online again.
Add me to the list. Not going to lie, I’m a little grumpy with target right now. I feel like they changed the wording half way through so they didn’t have to give everyone a gift card!

This was a total SCAM to get us on their mailing list. Of the 20 some people I know who got in on time, none got a gift card. If there was a limited supply, it should have explicitly stated so. Thanks for the waste of time!
