Does anyone know if the Ticonderoga pencils go cheaper than that?

    • Heather

I got several sets incredibly cheap last fall and stored away-otherwise around here (central IL) that’s a good price.

    • Kim

We bought 12 packs for $1 at Office Depot/Max last year. Costco also had a great deal on them last year as did Amazon and Walgreens.

      • Heather

I remember trying to snag those $1 sets. The employees told me they were gone right after the store opened. Sigh.
They didn’t restock until the sale price expired…

        • Jen

I price-matched them for $1 last year since my stores were out too.

  2. Jessica

I don’t remember the crayons going for $0.25 last year but I didn’t get them from target with no hassle. 😃

  3. S.

    Target will price match, right?

    • Jessich

My target won’t price match staples and office max.

  4. Lisa

Can we order these online or just in store?

  5. Maile

Hi — question — the limit 3 per household is 3 total
of the 1 cent deals or 3 of each of the 1 cent deals? Thanks!

    • Lin

      3 of each

  6. Taylor

    Will Staples price match this?

  7. Katy

Does anyone know if teachers are allowed to purchase more than the limit? I know some stores allow that.

    • Meg

I brought my ID and they let me have 20.

    • Tera

I had my Id also but mine wouldn’t let me. 👎🏻

      • Dawn

Katy, it’s really dependent on the store manager. Our Office Depot in Clovis, Ca will allow me, as a teacher, to make 3 separate transactions at the register per visit. So I make sure each total is $5 per transaction. The sale items are included in the total. At least this way, I can purchase 9 each of the sale items I need. I sure appreciate my wonderful Office Depot staff. 💗 Thanks Collin for the heads up on the back to school items starting this week!

  8. Diane

Thanks! I wonder if Staples will start their sale this Sunday too?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Diane!

  9. Stefanie

Looks like I’ll be taking my husband with me if it’s limit 3 so I can get 6– I’m a teacher and this is when I stock up for my classroom!

    • Tera

I take my sister, niece, mom, dad, and my child with me. I give them a list and money and they all go shopping. It takes a village to run a classroom.

    • Kristy

I would ask if you can get more with your school ID… you can also go once a day. ( I know we all don’t usually have that option.lol)

  10. Caryn

So I need to buy something/anything for $5 and then I can get some supplies for those prices?

    • Cbeths

If I understand correctly, just the 1 cent items require the $5 purchase?

      • j

        Yes

    • Caryn

      Thank you both 🙂

  11. Sonja

Will try other deals count toward the $5?

    • Katie

      They have on the past

  12. Felicia

Yes, the 12pk of Ticonderoga Pencils did go as low as $1 per pack there last year. It was difficult to get your hands on them, but I did. I also bought the 24pk from Target after school started for $1.25 and stocked up. I would still buy the 24pk at this price… it is still a great price for these pencils and they really are the best.

My Target, in the same shopping center will match the prices at Office Max/Depot for National brand items (not the Office Max brand items).

I always try to catch the Crayons at this price. Then make my rounds price matching. My dog eats ’em and my children break them, so we end up needing them at home for homework more than anything.

    • Kristy

Same here with the dogs and kids! I ALWAYS stock up on crayons this time of year!

  13. Katie

I don’t waste my money on any pencils other than Ticonderoga. The pencil sharpeners at school eat the cheap pencils up and the lead is always broken.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the feedback Katie! Good to know!

  14. Heather

How many Sharpies are in the $10 set that’s reg $21.99?

  15. Christie

FYI – My mom talked to the manager at an ATL store and this ad will go live in a week or two.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing! It does seem that ads can vary by region.

  16. Monica

My Office Depot has signs up Saturday afternoons so I got all these deals today (Saturday). Plus there is an overlap of Buy 2 get 1 Free Writing Utensils so I bought 3 Ticonderoga 24ct for $6 total (Buy 2 for $3 get 1 free).

  17. Rosio

Sorry to rain on your day just felt like sharing to those who go to the office depot in Murfreesboro, TN. Worst experience ever I decided to take my little sister (13) school supply shopping with me since I don’t see her much as I was taking my preschooler for her things, shopping for my step daughter, and shopping for my classroom . I had given my sister $50 bucks to do her own thing . When finishing up our shopping this lady decides it’s appropriate to come up to my sister (13) and started yelling at her ” If your with her you need to put your stuff back now! There is a limit 3 per house hold! It’s people like you that make us have a limit !” I was trying to stay calm and collected being with my children and younger sister . I explain to her that we are from two different house holds. She then asks to see my license. I comply and show her mine then turns to my sister (13) and starts harassing her to see identification to the point to were my sister started having a panic attack!!! I will make sure my coworkers and anyone I speak to not shop there. Called to talk to a manager. Guess what? She is the manager !!!!

  18. Charlene Kline

Are these in store only deals?

  19. Laura

I know this post is SEVERAL days old. Do you have any idea how long this deal is valid through? Like, an end date of the sale prices?
I’m sure there will be more deals, but I’m just NOW getting around to reading the details…. I’d hate to have missed round 1 of all the fun and savings!!!

  20. Jammie Bertrand

So how do they know if your from the same household? I am going tomorrow to grab stuff for my classroom and want to bring my 12 year old to get stuff too for her and her brothers school supplies. Also do they document your household so you can only go once a week?

  21. Rachel Madrid

I’m from Los Angeles and went to a office depot with my daughter who is 15. everyone seemed so nice and helpful but once we got to the registers to pay 1 cashier called the manager andpointed to us. the manager came and told us that its 3 items per household but he would make an exception this time. i said to him how do you know we are from 1 household? he said you two walked in together and walked around to get your items together..

    • Jammie Bertrand

Oh wow. I ended up taking my mother as my side kick since my teenager didn’t want to get out of bed. We didn’t have any issues walking in or shopping together, but I saw several that brought 3-4 friends with them to help buy for the classrooms. I wish all stores would have a “teacher day” like black Friday lol.

      • Lois

Keep an eye out (or check with your local store). They usually do have a special event for teachers…extra discounts, freebies, etc. The items do have limits and their corporate office is being quite strict about it, they are watching the stores very closely. You can however go on multiple days and get the limits each time.
