Do you need a smart tv for this or is this in place of a smart tv? Where do you plug it in at?
You just need an hdmi port. It’s in place of a smart tv. 🙂

We have both. Our fire stick sometimes doesn’t work but the roku always does. For us at least.
We have both. The Roku has a MUCH larger selection of apps, but if you have a lot of Amazon videos or really like prime video, than the Fire stick may be better. We have the Fire in our room and the Roku in the TV room so we use both pretty much daily, I like the Roku more. Except the Fire remote app is better than Roku’s in my opinion.
go with the fire stick it has a lot more build room on it , use the ES file that comes on the stick to set up Kodi then install the simplify build , so much to watch and a bunch of 2016 movies etc. over 2,000 to watch fast and easy to use free with no montly charges ,,,, fallow the guides on youtube to set it up
There is also an app for the remote. My first remote with my fire TV died and batteries didn’t help it. App is free and works from rooms away! Just in case you need it😃
