i have purchased multi-packs of permanent fabric markers at Michael’s with a coupon for about $7, i think. they are easy to use and stay brightly colored after repeated washings.
As a kid, 20years ago ha, we used basic crayola washable markers so we could do it again and again. They made for fun shirts to wear for water fights as the colors would spread like tie dye when lightly hit. Or fashion/fabric markers/paint if you want it to be permanent.
