Microsoft Retail Stores: Free YouthSpark Kids Camp for Ages 6+ (Make Reservations Now)
Looking for something to entertain the kiddos this summer? Microsoft retail stores are once again hosting YouthSpark Summer Camps for kids ages 6 and older throughout the summer.
Your kiddos can choose from various workshops including Get Creative with 3D in Windows 10, Start Your Own Business, Minecraft: Hour of Code and more! The camps last up to two hours a day depending on the workshop you choose and are held Monday-Thursday at Microsoft Retail Stores throughout the country.
Keep in mind that space is limited and workshops fill up quickly, so head on over here and sign your kids up now! Just scroll down, enter your city or zip code, and then you will then be able to select the day and class you would like to sign up for.
Also, please note that most activities are available for children 8 and older, with select activities available for kids ages 6 and 7. Also, note that a parent must stay with your child(ren) during camp. For a complete listing of participating locations, go here.
(Thanks Free Stuff Times!)
Their website states 8+? My 6-year-old would love this, but I don’t want to sign him up if they won’t let him in the class.
Hi Jen! I do see where they say 8+, though that must be for certain activities because underneath it they also state “Kids ages 6-8 will learn to tell stories with Make Your Own Story with PowerPoint and Word.” So I believe your 6-year-old would absolutely be able to participate! 😀
I just got off of the phone with microsoft and they said they pretty much follow the age rules posted on the website, so he won’t be able to do the coding classes until he’s 8. BUT they did say that next year he will be close enough to 8 that they’ll let him in (he has a summer birthday). 😊
Ah, too bad he can’t do the coding classes yet. Thanks for calling and sharing that info with us! Glad he will be able to do them next summer! 😀
Anyone see how to sign up more than one child? I signed up, but it only asked for my info, and I have more than one child interested. Thanks
Fun! Poor Austin, the Microsoft store here isn’t cool enough to offer any of these classes 😛 The next closest Microsoft store in San Antonio, 90 miles away, does offer them though, hmmm. Thanks for posting! 😀
I’m in the same boat – our nearest Microsoft store is nearly 2 hours away. There is an Apple Store an hour from us that I managed to get my 2 9-yr-olds signed up for coding class. Maybe you have an Apple store near you that still has openings?
