That’s a great price for Valvoline. I’m very happy with their service for oil changes and state inspections. Though I suspect that each location will very.
Thank you!!!
You’re so welcome!
Yay! Thank you.
YW Amber!
How much their 5q synetic oil chang cost? It’s always cheaper and better to get synthetic than normal oil.
Baby oil is best.
The last time I used Valvoline for an oil change, synthetic for higher mileage vehicles was upward of $60.00 before any coupon discounts applied.
Beware. Printed coupon and went there for first time. Showed guy my coupon. Said he would take it afterwards. They did oil change then cashier said oh we don’t take those coupons. That’s a different type of store. Something about express vs not express. Hate it when they advertise coupons but don’t take in all stores. That’s why I won’t shop at Taylor’s Do It either. If you bait and swap with coupons you lose me as customer.
Couldn’t agree more with that sentiment, Patty!
(Although I’ve never personally had an issue with this company)
Shady
same thing has happened to me in the past at multiple places
This is updated and now good through sept 22.
I’ve been going there for a long time. I’m the guy that would tip, but the staff has all changed and no one would remember that. No more tips. The service was horrible.
An oil change has been running $85 there for me. I went in on Sep 15th, 2017. The kid asked me if I wanted Blue. No visible pricing or product information. “It’s a diesel,” I said. I then was stunned to see my bill was $127. I complained and another fellow came over and the kid serving me said he reduced it $10. It’s still $127! No it was $137. Huh? Maybe the first total didn’t include tax and the second did? That’s even worse. So my normal expected cost went from $85 to $137–a 61% increase? Later, I looked at the new windshield sticker, and it was a 15,000 mile interval–crap, they billed me for synthetic oil. Well, I called up and spoke to the manager. He wanted to argue with me and tell me this “Blue” oil was for diesel motors, as if this was the only option. Then he said it was for turbo diesel motors–again like it was the only option and there are not mineral oil tubo diesel grades. He would not admit it was synthetic until much later in the conversation–he was rude and complained when I got upset. I had a right to be. I told him over and over again the interval was 15,000 miles and it must be synthetic. Finally he admitted it. Well, of course, there are different specifications for motor oil. And there are grades of mineral oil which include diesel and turbo diesels. So what did they put in my truck the last few times? Non-spec oil? He repeatedly said it could have been a miscommunication. How? I never heard the word synthetic. It’s an expensive upgrade and worthy of discussion. Did he direct his staff to push this “Blue” oil? Miscommunication he said. It was poor training of his employees or else deliberate. I think the later. Don’t you think it was worthy of mention that this Blue Oil was Synthetic? It’s deliberately confusing to the customer. Everyone knows synthetic is more expensive. Customer need to be asked if they want that extra expense. Then he offered to take $20 off. He insisted the normal charge was $99. Afterwards, it occurred to me he was billing me for a synthetic blend now, and still not charging me for normal mineral oil I think there is a class action lawsuit in this. Are they deliberately pushing synthetic and not telling anyone what they are using? Frankly, I would love to get this oil checked. I would not be surprised if they put the cheapest grade possible in my truck and bank on the fact I won’t check. I think I will send a sample in to be tested and find out what they sold me. I don’t trust them at all. I don’t think this was a miscommunication. I think it was someone deliberately messing me over, and laughing about it afterward. I view this as stealing. They stole my money just as if they reached into my pocket and took it out of my wallet. As a side note, despite telling them I just had my rear differential serviced, the salesman tried to push this on me telling me it needed to be done every 500 miles! Absurd. Intervals for differentials are 30,000. I told this guy three times I did not need it done, and that the rear end was just rebuilt. In fact, my rear end had an excessive amount of wear and I don’t know whether to attribute that to their prior service using substandard fluids or else wear resulting from the GM limited slip locking up. Bottom line: THES SHOPS ARE NOT TRUSTWORTHY. Who knows what they are pumping into your vehicle.
ATTENTION ************
whem using synthetic blend. Nobody is actually providing the ratio of synthetic blended with regular oil. The ratio is quite snall. So don’t get full by it.
Better get your full synthetic at Walmart or wherever you want and go at any oilchange and use your oil and filterplus the labor f15 bucks totaling around 30_35 bucks for a full synthetic oil change.
That’s a great idea. I do the same thing
Reading all the previous msg about all the complaints not accepting oil change coupons please show your coupon and find out they are accepting before doing the oil change
My daughter visited the Valvoline on Tiffin Ave. in Findlay OH today and was ripped off. Instead of being charged the $19.99 advertised in this add, they charged her over $60. Never again
Bummer! I’m so sorry she had a poor experience! Thank you for the feedback!
Garry, your daughter was talked into purchasing a synthetic oil change. If you can afford full synthetic, you should absolutely go that route. But for most of America, we rely on conventional oil. With that being said, people who are new to having their oil changed can easily be swayed to upgrading from conventional to synthetic. It’s a no-brainer, except when you didn’t budget for it. Valvoline did nothing wrong to your daughter, she simply made the decision to pay for synthetic (and possibly windshield wipers or air filter), because she thought it was the best thing to do. I’m not a Valvoline employee, nor do I even know much about the auto industry…but I do know this is the way it is with a lot of things in life. If you don’t want your children to be “ripped off” then teach them well, show them what to expect by taking them with you to have your oil changed, or to buy a new TV, car, etc…because it’s the companies goal to upcharge the consumer as much as possible for maximum profit. It’s our duty as parents to teach these children how to operate in the real-world…not Valvoline’s.
By the way…$19.99 Valvoline Conventional Oil Change expires July 22, 2018

If only this worked, the link has completely different coupons then the ones mentioned
Great service, friendly. Love the service that was provided. No short cuts, treated like a customer support to be treated, not a number. Will go back. Thanks
