This is a crazy good machine! My first loaf out of it came out amazing! I made a 1 lb. loaf on the quick setting. I thought there was no way this thing is going to make bread in under an hour. Let’s just say, I got proved wrong!

I’ve had the Oster Expressbake Breadmaker for almost 7 months and have used it too many times to count. If it died tomorrow, I feel like I have had my money’s worth out of it and would buy another. I have used the Basic, Quick, Whole Wheat, Dough, and Sweet cycles, and they all work perfectly and produce a wonderful loaf of bread. If you’re new to bread making, I highly recommend the book 300 Best Bread Machine Recipes by Donna Washburn and Heather Butt. This book gives a lot of good hints, tips and recipes!

I have only used the dough cycle and I love it, I will try to bake a loaf of bread someday. I used to try to make rolls by hand but I would never knead it enough and it is tiring. This works great to knead the dough to the right consistency and rises perfectly. I have made homemade cinnamon rolls twice and they came out perfect thanks to this.

I don’t make bread often or use this machine near enough but I got it on sale a couple years ago and never regretted it. We use the recipes in the recipe book it comes with and I make some Texas Roadhouse style cinnamon butter to go with and it’s delicious.

YUMM! That sounds really good! Thanks for the feedback!

I bake bread or some other concoction every other day. I’ve tried 2 other bread makers but have always come back to my Zojirushi. I’ve gone through 2 of them. I don’t bake the bread in them; but as the review states, I’m not a “kneady” person and can never get that part right, so I use it for that and then transfer the dough. The Zojirushi brand does cost a bit more, but totally worth it for my family. I like it as well because it has 2 paddles instead of 1.

I’ve seen a few breadmakers at second hand stores, so if you are on the fence, maybe try there to figure out if a bread maker is for you or not.

    Happy baking.

Have you tried Panasonic one? I want to get a bread maker but I can’t decide between Panasonic and Zojirushi.

I have made bread in this machine many times but it always comes out flawless when I use melted butter vs oil. It just slips out of the metal container. With the oil it tends to tug and the bread breaks a bit. Also it gives the bread a croissant flavor. I melt a little butter with coarse salt and brush the top while it is about to end the cooking process. So yummy. I haven’t bought bread from the supermarket in 6 months.

Thanks so much for the helpful tip Daniela!

I have never had the thought, “I’m going to make my own bread” but then I come on here and next thing you know I’m reaching for my credit card! Lol!

    • Daniela

Oh and the house smells so good when you do!! It will pay for itself quick, esp at this price point.

Does anyone make gluten free bread in these?

    • VickiL

For the same price point (October hip2save deal) I recommend the Hamilton Beach 29882. It has a gluten free setting but I’ve only used it successfully with Pamela’s bread mix. It has a second needing and rise which is a no no for GF bread but with Pamela’s it worked. Glutino made a nice loaf using the dough cycle and then switching it to the bake cycle after the 70 min. rise. I’m still experimenting with it and mixes as I find them. I love my breadmaker. Use butter instead of oil when you make your bread. I wanted to start with a cheap breadmaker in case I didn’t like it I wouldn’t have too much money invested. This maker though is so good I see no reason to pay more. I do like a GF setting in case I want to set it and forget it with a mix I know will work.

I recommend only using the bread machine for the kneading and rising them removing and using the dough for whatever you please. Better results! And a breeze to do.

I have had no issues baking the bread. I just use the white bread light setting. I add all ingredients, putting the liquids in the bottom and then adding the dry. Set it and come back when it beeps. Toasty loaf that gets eaten before I even notice.

I’ve been making bread and dough in this machine several times a week for almost 4 years and it comes out perfect every time! The bread maker still performs like it’s brand new. It’s easy to clean and makes my house smell amazing! I do recommend getting a bamboo bread slicing guide as it makes slicing a breeze for sandwich bread.

      Sweet! Thanks for sharing!

Am I doing something wrong? I can’t get HOME10 to work. I’ve ordered from them before and am logged into my account. Anyone have suggestions?

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Whoops! So sorry for the confusion. Be sure to use code HOME20.

    • Becky

Never mind, I see that the correct code is HOME20.

    • Carolyn Triplett

just tried it and it worked for me. It does says that it may not arrive before Christmas.. I think that’s a deal breaker for me.

I love my bread machine (which a friend gave me because she never used it)! I’ve only baked bread in it once, and was kind of disappointed, BUT I use it at least once a week (usually more) to make dough for pizza, rolls, cinnamon rolls, cinnamon swirl bread, and even regular bread that I bake in the oven. Everything comes out perfect!

    • Daniela

I was also disappointed when I followed the recipe the machine came with but when I googled “soft white bread” and read the comments on those pages, I kept tweaking until I fell in love.

What do you guys use to the store the bread after baking? It looks like it makes panetonne sized bread.

    • Daniela

Plastic wrap to keep it soft. I should buy a breadbox to store it but my family likes cutting thick slices and eating it warm and fresh so one loaf is 6 slices for us. I made monkey bread for thanksgiving and that was popular but a pain to clean. Never again.

  11. Armon

How much it will take to bake a white bread ?
    Tia.

    • Daniela

3 hours between kneading, rising and baking which the machine is preset to do.

  12. Allie

We don’t have this specific model. We make homemade breads, bagels and also jams from our bread maker!! Tons of ideas on Pinterest!!

  13. Susan H

It says “Important note this item may arrive after Christmas” on thr website

  14. Boisegal

Thought I’d chime in: I own the slightly older model of this machine. I love being able to bake a yummy loaf in less than an hour, but was finding the crust too crispy and sharp. So now, I add an egg to the ingredients and use butter instead of oil. When finished, I take it out and cover it with a bowl to let it soften in its own steam for 20 minutes or so. I think I’ll try the commenter’s advice above about basting with butter while cooking to maybe soften even further.

I have this Oster bread machine and we really like the bread that I make in the machine. So do my neighbors and family I have shared with. The directions on the book are easy to follow and the machine does all the work! I bought mine in Amazon a few years back with a deal! My house smells great because a loaf just finished.

  16. yomac

I would like to try making sourdough bread so I won’t have to buy it. Does anyone have a good recipe for a newbie? Is it expensive to make your own bread?
