Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons jalapenos, chopped
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 1/2 tablespoon poppy seeds

Directions

1

Mix self rising flour and plain Greek yogurt together into a dough. Add chopped jalapenos.

Conventional Oven Directions: Bake on a parchment paper covered sheet pan for 25 minutes at 375 degrees, (dough should be a little browned and cooked through when done).

wrapping a hot dog with dough

These Air Fryer Bagel Dogs make such an easy weeknight meal idea!

Looking for an easy dinner idea for busy weeknights? Try making these delicious 3-Ingredient Bagel Dogs in the air fryer! They’re a fun, yummy, Weight Watchers-friendly treat, too!

For this recipe, I’m wrapping a hot dog with a crazy easy dough that we featured in THIS previous post. These are a treat the whole family will enjoy!

jalepeno dogs in air fryer

Yup, the air fryer is still my favorite appliance!

I still find myself gravitating toward easy air fryer recipes in real life for convenience, and also we truly enjoy the taste and texture it gives food without using a ton of oil. I also love that my kids can use it also to warm up leftovers or make a quick grilled cheese and other simple meals.

Don’t have an air fryer? No worries, I’ve also included conventional oven instructions for homemade bagel dogs in this recipe as well!

mixing dough with jalepenos in it

Spice it up!

For these bagel dogs, I added some diced jalapenos to give a nice flavor to the dough! They tasted super yummy to us, but they can ultimately be left out if preferred! I sprinkled some poppy seeds and added extra jalapenos to the top before air frying, but you could always use Everything Bagel seasoning instead. YUM!

Hip tips for making these easy Air Fryer Bagel Dogs

  • Don’t have self-rising flour? For each cup of all-purpose flour, add 2 teaspoons of baking powder + 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • One batch of this dough will nicely cover four hot dogs, but you can easily double the recipe to make more.
  • Don’t be intimidated by the dough-wrapping step of this recipe. There’s no wrong way to do it! All I did was roll the dough into long tubes (as shown below) and then wrap the dough around the hot dogs before cooking.

You’re gonna love these bagel dogs!

I love how puffy and crusty on the outside the dough gets after cooking. Just dip these in your favorite condiment and you’ve got a fantastic snack or meal! You can even slice these up into smaller bite-sized pieces and serve them on a platter as a great game-day appetizer. YUM-O!

Bonus – this recipe is Weight Watchers friendly too!

Also worth mentioning, this idea is Weight Watchers friendly! Depending on the hot dog you buy, one air fryer bagel dog can be as little as 4 WW points each. For instance, if you used Hebrew National fat-free dogs as I did, they would only be 4 points each!

  3. Pat

Wonder if this will work using pop-open crescent rolls?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Yes, I’m sure that’d be yummy too. 🙂

  4. Debra

or use crescent rolls..a lot easier than making the dough..been making these for years..

    • Rachel

I’m sure you have, Debby. I’m sure these ones are better than the ones you make with pre-made dough, too. If you just want to hate on the idea of not using pre-made ingredients, why did you even click on the recipe?

  5. Celina

Hot dogs come out charred while dough is still wet. Not a fan. I even dropped the temp to 350.
