I love Ree! Her next step should be a meal delivery kit (like Hello Fresh and Blue Apron), I would buy that weekly!

I’m a fan of the Pioneer Woman, but these packaged foods are beyond awful! We tried three of them last night (loaded mashed potatoes, fried chicken, and smothered chicken), and I’m giving away the rest of what I purchased. The potatoes were a strange grayish color (nothing like the picture on the box), the gravy packet for the fried chicken had a sour chemical taste, and the smothered chicken was meh. I am so disappointed.

    • Liza (Hip Sidekick)

Oh no! So sorry to hear you weren’t a fan Lisa. πŸ™ Thanks for sharing your honest feedback!

I purchased three of these dishes: Country Fried Steak, Smothered Chicken and Meatloaf. I give Ree credit for trying to introduce prepared home-cooked-style meals to the public, but in my opinion, like most other prepared meals, they just don’t quite make it.

  9. Brenda

The packaged food is awful. This is not to her standard. I will never try meatloaf again. I am not sure was hamburger very spongey. I will try the chicken but it does not look good when opened.

Tried The Pioneer Woman Beef Tips in Gravy-Heat & Eat, It was terrible!! Meat was tough, very grisly, not one piece that my husband and I could eat!! The only good thing was the gravy had decent flavor to put over our potatoes. Won’t try anymore..Don’t waste your money

  11. Sheryl prater

Ok these are disgusting. Tastes like cheap ol Hormel. Do NOT waste your money.

i tried the beef tips and gravy. it was so bad i gave it to the dog. The beef was full of gristle and tasteless and the so called gravy was brown water with no taste. do not try this product.

Bought her Chicken Cordon Bleu at Walmart. When I opened it the breadcrumbs were missing. I called the number on the box and they are sending a refund. The serving was small and rather tasteless. I will give them a second chance and then move-on. Her recipes are good and I will continue to use them.

Just purchase and fixed the Country Fried Steak , I was extremely disappointed the meat was tough and was full
of cartilage and I was unable to chew it . What little I was able to taste, there was know meat flavor at all or if there
was it was smother out by seasoning that was so over powering that you were unable to determine what they were.
    So disappointed !!

Can these packaged meals be frozen?

  16. Vickie Patton

I live in Southaven, Mississippi just across the line from Memphis, Tennessee. I have not been able to find any of the frozen items yet.

I wish someone would have warned me before I went out and bought The Pioneer Woman Beef Tips in Gravy Heat & Eat. It was just awful. I kept spitting out and putting the meat on the side of my plate and ended up with a huge pile. It was full of gristle, fat, tough and to top that off, the meat tasted just horrid. I had to put salt, garlic & onion powder on it but nothing helped it. I ended up putting it outside for a feral cat that comes around. He probably won’t want it either.

So many had a bad experience with this product specifically the Beef Tips and Gravy. My experience was very good. I usually get another brand and thought I would try this. Soooo much more flavor and a better cut of beef than the other brand. I grew up having Sunday Roast Beef, Corn and Mashed Potatoes. I would still prefer that over this but this is really good for a quick heat and eat entree. Great to portion out in a soup cup with rice, V8, and veggies. Nobody get this and I will buy them. They are sold out and can not get any from Walmart going on over a month now. Thank you Lock Down Hoarders.

Thanks for the feedback, Stephen Roy! Glad you like it.

    The broccoli casserole was awesome.

    My husband wants them. πŸ˜†
