I NEVER was the type to like ebooks I just love the feel and smell of real books, however I was going on a cruise and was in the middle of a book and wanted to start another and they were both big. I borrowed my sisters kindle paperwhite and got them from the library e-book selection (thankfully) and read on the plane and on the ship and in bed. I fell in LOVE with the kindle paperwhite. It is amazing! I still have books, but these are so easy to carry around, the no glare and the little backlight in dark places really helps. My eyes aren’t even bothered and I can read comfortably with or without my glasses. This is an amazing deal. I may get this version because it’s water proof.

The All-new offers little improvement to my SIX YEAR old Paperwhite. It is a little thinner and lighter, but with a case you barely notice it. Waterproof? Do you really need that? The processor is not that much faster, either Silly me to think in six years the technology would improve a lot.

I have a Kindle Touch that is approaching 7 years old. I have to give kudos to Amazon that it still works flawlessly to download and read books and hasn’t been made obsolete (Apple would have made sure of that!). That said, I was tempted by this waterproof Kindle because I like reading out by the pool and at the beach; I was even thinking last night as I was curled up in a blanket with my old Kindle how much I’d love to sit in a hot bubble bath and finish my book. I was going to pull the trigger before I started perusing the really moxed reviews – battery life sounds awful, and I can go WEEKS before charging my current model.

Ladies you are right! I was tempted by the waterproof and honestly not much else changed. I don’t use audible so that didn’t tempt me. I also never really store many books on it so the 8 gb doesn’t matter. I did watch a few comapison videos and am happy with my old kindle. I did see some really great deals on the paperwhite version I had. So I snagged on for $50 for my son.

Curious to know where you found such a great price on an old paper white. Would love to get an older version for a cheaper price 😊

            Erin search in amazon for
Kindle Paperwhite E-reader (Previous Generation – 7th) then go to used and new and you’ll see some in the Amazon warehouse for up to $75 lots of the options yesterday are sold out now. . There are also certified refurbished models that are $99 too.
