This pineapple corer features a high quality, rust-proof stainless steel blade and an ergonomic handle. To use, simply remove the top of the pineapple, insert the slicer in the middle and twist the handle to create perfectly formed pineapple rings while removing the core at the same time!

Agreed! This is the ONLY way that we cut pineapple in our house! Also, the stainless steel variety works better than the plastic variety. I paid $20 for mine back in 2005, when they were first available!

Use use the following criteria:
– you want it to be yellow/golden in color
-you want it to be fragrant… can you smell pineapple
Pull a leaf right in the center. If it comes out easily, it’s ready to eat.

Although the core is chewy and maybe less desirable than the flesh of the pineapple, it is loaded with bromelain and is the most nutritious part of the pineapple. Don’t throw it out, eat it!
I chop up the core, freeze and put in smoothies! Don’t waste it!
