These are really pretty. Hoping they have some at my store.

I know! SO pretty! Hoping you spot them at your Target!

Wondering how many people put Melamine dishes in the microwave and dishwasher, even though it always says not to? That is what always holds me back from buying these sort of dishes.

    • Amber

I put them in the dishwasher, top rack. They clean well with no problems. I do not put them in the microwave.

You can on top rack, but because of the abrasive detergents, they will begin to have a whitelike film or faded look. Just depends on how long & nice you want to keep them.

Luv the pasta bowl. It’s an awesome salad bowl.

What happens if I put it in microwave

    • R

I’ll put mine in for very short bursts (like 20 seconds or less) if I’m being lazy, but supposedly heating them can potentially cause chemical leaching into your food if heated long enough to start breaking down the plastic. I imagine it would eventually ruin them, too.

    • Jodi

If you put them in the microwave they will melt and/or crack. Learned that the hard way. They do fine in the dishwasher though.

You must have a HUGE Target near you. I live in a city of over 2 million people and our Targets have only a tiny fraction of that amount of dishes on clearance. Maybe 6 plates and a few bowls. I’ve never seen that many of anything on the shelves, even for regular price. Too bad because I love the pattern on those dishes. But it’s also good — because I don’t need them! 🙂
