I have had the truffle mac and cheese and it is delish! But I can’t get there fast enough to get me some Browned Butter Pecan cheesecake!!
Hoping you score the cheesecake soon!
Thank you for posting a picture of the Pineapple Mimosa. The Orange Mimosa has been out at my store for weeks and I’ve never even seen the Pineapple Mimosa. No worries, the cashier today said the wine truck gets in tomorrow! 🙂 Fingers crossed.
Yay! You’re SO welcome! Enjoy!
Love the Casa Mamita organic pineapple salsa! Always goes fast at my store
Recently tried the limited time Carrot Cake and Chocolate Cakes. Here are my opinions:
Carrot Cake: Frosting was amazing. It was light and just right sweet-wise. However, the cake my cake was very dry, practically tasteless and I did not enjoy biting into hard bits of raisins. I bought one after the rave recommendations here. Mine was not good.
Chocolate Cake: This is the one I highly recommend! The icing and cake were light and fluffy (everything tasted whipped and airy), not too sweet, chocolate was amazing (I don’t think Aldi can make a bad chocolate!) Delicious and well worth the money!
Thanks for the helpful review! Good to know which you liked best!
Spot on,and would buy CDC 1 every week but was told they only have it on easter, really?
Cake was awesome
Chocolate one
We had the opposite reaction to the Carrot and Chocolate cakes. The carrot cake: frosting good, cake moist, but not enough (if any) nuts in batter. The chocolate cake: frosting great but cake so incredibly dry and lacked any “chocolate” flavor at all. Very disappointing and Aldi too far to return cakes for refund.
Remember they will give you your money back and another cake to try when you have a bad experience like you did.
I am beginning to think that maybe Aldi has a quality control issue with seasonal baked goods?
Oh bummer! Sorry to hear about that, Truman! Thanks for sharing with us!
Benton’s peanut butter filled cookies. My daughter swears these are just like the peanut butter cookies the Girl Scouts sell at about $1.50 a bag.
They taste better to me than the regular Girl Scout cookies! Same with the Aldi thin mint version of Girl Scout cookies.
Our Aldi has the most amazing Choceur (sp?) chocolate covered almonds. We got the Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel and the Dark Chocolate Coconut and both were so delicious!!
YES! I had those too! SO yummy! Thanks for the suggestion!
Has anyone tried the vanilla bean dessert hummus? Yum!
I’ve had the chocolate hummus and it tastes like brownie vatter! So yummy! My store hasn’t got the vanilla bean in yet. I will watch for it now!
Anyone try the sweet potato casserole? I normally make this type of thing but was thinking of trying it. I’m sure my family will be disappointed unless I add more topping… I triple the topping on my recipe and my kids still skim off the top!!
I tried it when it was out last year. It was ok, not great. It is definitely no comparison to homemade.
Thank you
It was too sweet for me. It was good but just extremely sweet.
Thank you
Its delicious!! I was so happy to find it. I bought some last year and we loved it.
We love the sweet potato casserole. I stock up since it’s only available at Easter and Thanksgiving. The first of my friends that sees it back it stock gives shout out so we can restock.
Bought the hummus crisps today for hubby, who likes hummus, and feta. He said they were really good. And he got a kick out of saying hummus crisps!
I bought the cinnamon roll cheesecake last week and ut’s to die for! Tastes just like a cinnamon roll, but with the creamy texture of cheesecake.
YUM! Glad you enjoyed it, Gina! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment!
I’ve had the chocolate hummus and it tastes like brownie vatter! So yummy! My store hasn’t got the vanilla bean in yet. I will watch for it now!
Not food at all…but I went today and got four bags of rubber mulch for $5 each. Lowe’s sells the same stuff for $7. I need to save every way I can. Also got a 50 foot outdoor extension cord for $4.50 (marked down).
My Aldi doesn’t sell wine (KY is backward that way) but those mimosas sound delish. If anyone is coming to the upcoming Quilt Show and your Aldi sells it, bring me some please!!! 🙂
And a few weeks back, got a super cute pair of rain boots for 14.99. I love Aldi!!
I didn’t know KY Aldis doesn’t sell wine. 😕 Thanks Peggy
The 7 up cake is yummy!!!!! My kids loved it!
Haven’t tried them yet but when checking out saw oreo cookie coated almonds. Picked those up, again haven’t eaten some yet but they seem like they would be good.
Never heard of Aldi until I saw they were putting one like a mile from my house a few months ago. I got their ad in my mail today, looks interesting. Their grand opening is tomorrow. I’ll check them out this weekend.
Todd, just walk in eyes wide open. They do not have ornate displays (saves money) and display their things in their boxes. Our favorite things to shop for are dairy items, cereals, wines, cheeses. Just know that when things are out, gotta wait for the truck to get it. Good luck. We love ours.
Make sure you bring a quarter for your shopping cart. You’ll get it back when you return the cart. It’s their way of not needing to pay someone to handle the carts in the parking lot and making sure costumers don’t leave them all over the place.
Also, bring your own bags. Their checkout lines go super fast because they don’t bag your items, you will bag them yourself – again, it’s another way for them to save on costs. It is actually sort of nice because then you can bag them carefully and make sure it is arranged how you like, vs someone that throws raw meat with produce and things like that. If you don’t have bags, you can always take empty boxes from anywhere throughout the store (their food is displayed in boxes), and they usually have a spot in the store filled with empty boxes as well. They also have nice reusable bags you can purchase at checkout.
Enjoy! I love Aldi!
Make sure you take your own bags. Or you can use boxes they have. And have a quarter for the cart. I didn’t know that the first time I went. But you get the quarter back when you return the cart.
I got two different flavors of agua fresca the other day. Yummy!!!
Our Aldi doesn’t have the chocolate covered espresso beans. 😭😭😭 Store manager said not all stores get their specialty items.
Their Creme brulee cheesecake is AMAZING!!!! Love ALDIS!!!
Thanks for your post about the orange mimosa,we tried it and love it,will get more. Also tried the triple berry creme cake and love that too.
Sweet potatoes chips are amazing
Can someone recommend a good red wine from Aldi?
There is one listed over here –> https://hip2save.com/2019/04/01/must-buy-reader-favorites-aldi/
Hope that helps!
Thank you that is a white wine. I wonder if that company makes a good red? Winking owl?
I love the vanilla bean cheesecake its soooo delicious wish it were a regular item!!!!
Specially Selected – Double Layer Chocolate Cake – Christmas Eve -2022
I bought one today and it is very good , The frosting is light and airy and taste good . It is a light chocolate flavor and whipped instead of dense like a fudge frosting which i prefer when it come to chocolate cakes in general . The cakes is semi moist and not that dry . I will rate this 8 out of 10
Thanks so much for sharing! We sure appreciate the review! 🤗 Merry Christmas! 🎄❤️
