Mizkan America is voluntarily recalling select jars of Ragu Pasta Sauces due to the possibility that they may contain plastic fragments, which could potentially be a choking hazard.

There have been no reports of injuries or complaints, but Ragu is launching the recall out of an abundance of caution.

Check your cabinets for any of the following products:

  • 45-ounce Chunky Tomato, Garlic & Onion with a cap code, JUN0620YU2
  • 66-ounce Chunky Tomato, Garlic & Onion with a cap code, JUN0520YU2

If you have purchased one of these containers, you can discard the sauce and call the Mizkan customer service hotline at 800-328-7248 for a replacement coupon.

Weird that so many items have plastic in them these days🧐

I’m noticing a huge increase in recalls lately:( And it seems to be the non-organic processed foods:/ I’m thinking under the USDA they are doing a pretty good job regulating the products a lot better. So scary. I feel I need to be growing my own produce now and not purchasing anything from a box!

I totally agree with feeling like I need to grow and prepare all my own food. You just never know what could be in some of these processed products. I bit into a rock in my frozen burrito recently, and now I have little trust in the process. 🙁

I can see how this is possible. I had shards of plastic in a frappuccino I had just gotten from Starbucks years ago. Somehow, in their rush to make my drink, they dropped a lid in the blender.
