Gymboree is Coming to The Children’s Place (Help Decide Which Styles Return)
When Gymboree closed its doors, we were so excited when The Children’s Place acquired the brand as Gymboree was known for quality kids clothes that lasted.
The Children’s Place is now working hard to bring back that same attention to detail plus all the cute styles that Gymboree fans loved.
Want to help decide what styles return?
In the next few weeks, The Children’s Place will be asking their email subscribers for input on why Gymboree is so special to you and what you’d love to see when they bring the brand back. If you’d like to have a hand in helping them decide the direction of this beloved brand, sign up for emails here.
After hearing your input, The Children’s Place plans to relaunch the brand for online shopping in early 2020. You’ll be able to shop in-store at over 200 The Children’s Place locations nationwide in Spring 2020.
I am wondering how this is going to work. I was an avid Gymboree shopper for both my son and daughter, but always avoided Children’s place because I never liked the clothing they carried season after season.
I’m curious about this too, Joanna! We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for any further information that pops up!
Ugh. I wish Gymboree would die and Hanna Andersson would grow.
The embroidered stuff!
The Gymboree clothing style for me was always more special, classic and well thought of than TCP- Hopefully they can achieve it !!
Would love to see Gymboree clothing back ❤️
I liked Gymboree for my kiddos too! I think they have outgrown their size options now though. Bummer!
I don’t know that Gymboree will ever have the same nostalgia and quality that it once did. I commend the children’s place for trying to revive it, but unfortunately I don’t have high expectations.
I guess time will tell.
Wonder if it will be of the same quality. I hope they go back to the cute styles. The woodland creatures, and ballerinas etc. i stopped shopping at Gymboree at the end due to the unicorns and rainbows. 🙄
Haha darn unicorns overtaking woodland creatures 😝
I was so disappointed when gymboree and crazy8 closed. I would love to see them really come back. I have always found The Childrens Place to be more expensive then the gym/crazy8 sales and I find The Children’s place styles kinda junky. All these graphic tees for boys with nothing but (ninja poop) emojis and dinosaurs eating pizza with dumb sayings like #pizzavore… lol I guess I’m lucky that my kids are fine with me picking out there clothes elsewhere. Can’t say that they have one t-shirt from Children’s place, just jeans. If your looking for plain nice looking t-shirts Abercrombie and Fitch Kids has actually been really great for me if you hit the sales right. You can get them for $5 or $7 each and they hold up sooo well with washing. T-shirts that I bought for my oldest son were handed down to my youngest, so some of these shirts have had regular wear for 5 years+ and are still going very strong.
Ooh I never thought of Abercrombie for my toddler son. Awesome tip! I’m going to look into that !
I love the embroidery and quality of the older Gymboree clothes. I just buy them at consignment now! I can tell the brand without even looking at the tag because the quality is so different. Will miss it for sure!
My son was A HUGE fan of their firetrucks line. He loved the slippers so much that I had purchased a gently used pair off craigslist and the kind lady shipped them from California to Wisconsin. My son was in Heaven. Loved everything coordinated.
Aww, too cute! Thanks for sharing that with us! Happy you could still score him some slippers!
I like crazy8 better.
I’m really excited about this! I hope this works out well 🙂
Gymboree had the cutest, age appropriate clothing. My favorite were their holiday dress clothes with all of the matching accessories. Their embroidered clothing with leggings were adorable too. Their collections were unique, well thought out, and good quality. Now I find that the style for kids in general is geared toward mis-matching and graphics, which are just eh imo. It’s great that TCP is trying to revive them and I’m up for checking them out, but I have very low expectations. Old TCP hand me downs that we have are way better quality than what they make today. I think they have lower quality clothing than Walmart and it never seems to fit quite right either (usually wayyy too big/wide on my kids). The trends always cycle, so hopefully quality makes it’s way back into the fashion industry!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, Meg! We sure appreciate it!
I loved Gymboree old styles..Head-to-toe ..Watermelon collection for girls, Monkey collection for boys..I worked for Gymboree for 8 years and I know the best sales and traffic we had was the old days.. Head-to-toe styles were the best and unique.
I have 7 grandchildren and purchased a lot from Gymboree. Really was sad to see them go. I have three grandchildren now that are in toddler sizes. The quality of Gymboree is fabulous. You don’t get the piling on any of their clothes. I hope TCP uses the same quality as the old Gymboree. I haven’t found any other brand that holds up so well. Also, I like to see little girls look like little girls, not mini teenagers. Please keep that now mind. Love love love the old Gymboree.
