Does this game system have a disc drive or are all the games bought digitally? My family wants one, but we haven’t shopped for these since we bought our wii! 🙂
It’s both now =) they still have disc drives if you want to buy the games physically or you can buy them digitally. (Neither is exactly better than the other, digital games have more sales often but then you cant sell them or let friends borrow them if you ever get bored of it like physical games, plus you cant store digital games on a shelf lol) But you’re going to want to get a portable/external hard drive for it though if you plan on getting a lot of games. Because either one you choose (physical or digital) it will still need a lot of storage space, some games take up to 50gb+, so may want to opt for atleast a 2TB portable hard drive or 3TB. Going for 4TB may be overkill lol unless you plan on getting a lot of games. The ps4 already has 1TB of storage built into it as well. So that plus the Portable hard drive should be enough.

The games don’t seem appropriate for them so looks like I would already be buying add’l games. I’ll take opinions: would this be a good first console for them? Thanks for all your input. I have the same question! I have a nine-year-old boy. Many people are recommending the Nintendo switch to me. Thoughts anyone?
My son is 8. We have a PS3 and are contemplating upgrading to a 4, moving to Switch, or buying both. Switch has more family oriented games and multiplayer games. A lot of the PS games are only multiplayer with online players. So if you want to stay away from more of the violent games or plan to play as a family, Switch is probably a better option. And it’s portable to keep kids occupied away from home.
