Be really careful with Staples – they have some incredibly shady business practices.
A few weeks ago, I bought a laptop from them – and went, hours later, to double check the specs on my order page to buy more RAM. They had cancelled it – did not send me an email! – and told me it was OOS when I called. Apparently, they had done this to several people. However, the very next day, it was magically in stock on their website again – at a much higher price. Some people on Slickdeals received calls telling them they could call back and get it at the sale price, although there was no rhyme or reason based on when they ordered it. I call to get the price, and they based told me “tough luck” – but other people who didn’t receive the call were getting it at the original price. To make matters even worse, some of the people who received the voicemail were told “too bad”.
If it could even get worse, Staples lied about offering the laptop at a discounted price on their facebook page. This is the legitimately worst company I’ve ever dealt with.
Oh, and they released the hold on my card YESTERDAY – after two weeks!
