I love coffee deals! But I’m a little concerned about Amazon’s Subscribe and Save. The prices change a LOT, and it is difficult to find out what you actually paid for items through s&s. For example, I ordered the Kind bars Hip2Save posted 3? Weeks ago or so. I ordered several boxes for $3 something, and added 2 to my subscribe and save. I figured they would go up, as $3 for a box of 12 Kind bars is crazy good! I happened to call and check, and they were $16/box now!! I appreciated the deal I got the first time, but buyer beware!! I always knew the future prices could fluctuate, but I thought the first subscribe and save price was what I purchased it that day. (Locked in) But I was told no, that it is the price on the day it ships out. Theoretically, Amazon could advertise a 25% discount for coffee with the first S&S, but then hike the price a week later. I love my Prime membership, but it seems like Amazon isn’t being transparent here.

Thanks, Darcilew! We’ve never experienced that before, but we will definitely keep an eye out for reader feedback. They do send out a notice shortly before your S&S date so you can go in and cancel items so even if you didn’t cancel immediately after first subscription, you’re able to see what price you’ll pay with the current month.

Yes, the notice is what made me call and ask. However, the notice price was $13, and it still went up a few dollars between the time I received the notice and when I called! I have a hard time keeping up with everything, so I appreciated the email. S&S can be a good deal, but I need to stay on top of it. 🙂

So I thought I locked in this Lavazza deal when I received it, and added it to my subscribe and save. I just went and checked on the price and it went up over $2 and it hasn’t even shipped yet. Isn’t at least the first order supposed to be the price it is when you add it to your subscribe and save? This seems shady.
