Hey Hip2Save community hope all is going as well as possible in these times. I frequently recommend people to the app. I did so with a fellow mom and she loves it. She loves the deals and was curious about the share, request and trade section. Which I then gave a brief run down on. I had no idea that she needed the kohl’s percentage off, I already gave both my 30% off for free on Saturday and Sunday. She said she went through tons of free 30 and 40% post but they were all used. She eventually just traded for one, rather than to wait the whole day. I skimmed through the post and I realized that majority of the free 40% off kohl’s post weren’t rightfully complimented with a thank you. How sad is it that people can take but can’t acknowledge the person giving. Thank you to all those that trade honestly and give freely. And on another note I noticed a lot of people that were in dire need of the 40% off kohl’s coupon had the same exact stories. And with their situation being so dire you would think settling for the 30% off kohl’s coupon would be the obvious choice but it wasn’t. I hope it’s a BIG coincidence and not just a shared LIE. If community members are being dishonest that will cause people to stop giving and second guess everyone they trade. Have a heart and be honest people or refrain from joining in the share request and trade section. Thank you very much.
I totally agree. It seems that people feel you’re greedy if you rightfully trade a 40% between consenting adults. Yet so many people take 40% listed on here and never say thanks or even anything. Some do but most don’t. I gave away 2 codes yesterday and don’t know if they were used but assume they were. I like trading my codes do give away a few. A short thank you would be nice to anyone posting free items.
Exactly what I was talking about. Imagine my friends being on Hip2Save for less than a month and noticing the lack of thank you. And then I’m seeing there was more to it than just that. I like to stand by my recommendations. Since not to many people seem to acknowledge the vast amount of insincere behaviors then It’s no wonder these things happen in such a big way.
Love 2 Laugh, well said, and so sorry, but I’ve hit that point. I send codes and various things to people and to simply even acknowledge it was received (I don’t get an email notification bounce back that it was not delivered) is all I simply ask, but alas, they do not. However, I do have a select “virtual H2S friends” who I know I can count on to simply reply back with a simple thank you. Again, they are a handful, but they know who they are.
That is why I have a Hip2Save “penpal”. Her name is Kerri. We email and snail mail coupons to each other. Never have to worry about a trade going bad or not getting a thank you because we’re texting each other all the time.
And I also have a new “penpal” named Denille. She is expecting soon so I’ve been mailing her baby coupons and she sends stuff to me as well. Denille is lovely and I always get a thank you from her.
And a big shout out to Rose who recently sent me a Redbox code just because she is so nice. There are very kind and generous people on Hip2Save.
So what I’m saying is, adopt a Hip2Save friend or two. You’ll make a new friend, share a few laughs, and never have to worry if your code or coupon was received.
I didn’t have any bad experiences trading. I just can’t believe I’ve seen some many people give without even a thank you. Home training is at a all time low. And amongst the cluster of stories there were a Lot of the same exact stories to garner something for free. Just be honest and say I want something and I don’t want to give anything in return. Bunny I love your pen pal system, I’m glad it’s very effective . I wasn’t raised in a barn and being quiet about adults with no moral compass does us all a disservice . If people lie in times like this, that’s just a despicable act.
I said the same thing either yesterday or day prior. Grown adults that cant even say please or thank you. Its sorta shameful. It literally takes 10 seconds to show appreciation. It takes longer to use a code that someone kindly posted. Funny how ppl will take the time to seek out a code.and not give a shout out. 🙄
I expect more from adults and if everyone stays quiet then it becomes an acceptable thing to do.
Damn this is spot on. Why can’t everyone just do the stand up thing. I don’t think it’s so hard to do. Just be real and do right. Thank you to everyone that have traded with me in a honest way. I appreciate every thank you for free codes I shared with no trade needed. Thank you to every adult that replied thank you. I know there isn’t a reward for the truth but thank you anyway for doing the less popular thing.
The amount of traffic going on yesterday is great, I’m glad those in need got through but a good amount of those people were telling the same tale. Hmmmm something was down right fishy. Little conversations like this helps someone feel appreciated and it lets the liars know shame on you and we’re watching.
It is sad to see people begging for codes if they are lying for the reason they need the code. But it is also sad that they make it seem like offering $1 Amazon or even just coke codes is impossible? Like yesterday, people are spending money on nonessential products (not food or paper/cleaning products) and cannot afford to offer $1 to trade?? Those people I know are lying since they cannot even offer anything in return. With numerous people not even saying Thank You for a free code. I feel it is becoming socially acceptable to ask for something for free without offering anything to return. I guess I was raised differently and my pride will not let me ask for a hand out of a unnecessary nonessential item without at least offering something in return, no matter how small. And even if the person doesn’t want anything in return, I will always still offer. It is the polite and respectable thing to do.
YES YES YES… I gave my two away for free and not one comment but yet they both were used. Smh. I don’t think asking for $1 $2 or $3 of coke codes is wrong at all. The 40% off can save someone $4 off a $10 purchase. And I don’t believe anyone bought anything for a mere $10. So if the saving Is a minimum of $4 – $40 plus depending on how much you spend. And if U think paying or trading $1, $2 or $3 or coke code is too much to bare then you are an incorrigible person. This section is to share request and trade. I was raised that way as well. If it was push come to shove then it would be okay to ask If I exhausted all other avenues. And if I did ask I would still have to give the person something in return. Even if it’s just writing a positive post about said Individual.
I traded my code (or thought i did) but i got ignored after i sent the 40% kohls code. I got an email the next day saying….i didn’t use the code. Therefore i was sh^@*#*t out of luck. I couldnt have given it away if i wanted to. So shady. I didnt even get a thank you for essentially giving it to her. Can you believe it. I would have expected a thank you entangled in her lie but no. Just an ungrateful trader (well……). Im glad i have found people that i could contact directly if i had something of substantial value. And i habe had great trades with many and would not think twice about trading with again. I do always offer by friend bunny first dibbs on anything i get. We have a great relationship and its not always about the value of the trade. I have also traded some really high value things with a lady named lori. We have worked out movie packages and six flags tickets more than once. While i was nervous, they were smooth as butter. I was happy she was able to spoil her girls with fun things to do. She was grateful and said thanks of course. Im just saying that we are all in the same boat. We would not be on here trading coupons for free sodas, popcorns and chicken sandwiches if we were rich. We do it so we are able to score a better deal for us at places we frequent or to help a neighbor out to save at places they like. Not keeping up with ur end of the bargain is wrong and just shameful. Also remember a simple thank you can make a trader feel appreciated that much more. It takes a second. Be a mature adult !!
