Super easy to make yourself and with less ingredients. I buy my dried chilli peppers from the Asian store, blend in food processor until I get flakes, pour into a stainless steel bowl and add a dash of salt. You can adjust to your liking later. Heat peanut oil or any oil of your choice with szechuan black pepper or just regular black pepper, diced fresh garlic, coriander seeds and green cardamom if you want. Once nicely heated (don’t burn the whole spices), place mesh sieve over pepper flakes to catch spices, and pour oil through over the pepper. It should sizzle when you pour over pepper flakes. Stir and let cool down. You can adjust your salt here. Store in glass jar. Super easy and delicious

Thanks for the DIY instructions! How long does this keep once you make it?

      • Lase

You’re welcome. Not sure because it really does not last that long because of my husband. I’ve kept it for about 2 weeks on the countertop but I’m sure if you keep it in the fridge, it should be good up to 6 months. I read that somewhere. As long as it’s just the pepper, oil and salt, you’re good.
